Hello all.
Together with some of my Japanese friends we are once again going to offer a goods pickup service as I have done in the past for other Japanese shows.
Unfortunately, some of my friends have offered to pick up goods for people in the past only for the person to decide they didn't want it after it was already purchased. Given that history if anyone wants something picked up I'm going to ask an advance deposit be made as a sign of good faith.
If it turns out for some reason we are unable to obtain the item in question the deposit would be returned in full.
However, if we do buy the item requested and the buyer decides they do not want the item the deposit will be considered forfeit and not refunded.
The deposit we are going to ask is 50% of the item base cost upfront. As an example, we are asking $50 for shirts. You would send me a $25 deposit in advance and then when I return the the US the first week of November I would contact you with the cost of shipping and you would send the remaining $25 plus the shipping amount.
The deposit shows you have a definite commitment to pay for the item. We don't want to buy hundreds of dollars of goods and then people decide they don't want it.
With the current exchange rate we are asking the following amounts. If for some reason the exchange rate were to radically get worse prices would increase but that seems unlikely.
- items 1-4, 8 & 12: $50 each + shipping
- item 5: $90 + shipping
- item 6: $105 + shipping
- items 7 & 13: $42.50 each + shipping
- item 9: $13 + shipping
- item 10: $20 + shipping
- item 11: $95 + shipping
The hoodies and some of the other items are going to be rather bulky I think and will use a lot of luggage space thus the higher markup price. The same holds true for the ruck sack #11. I have no idea how large or bulky that thing is going to be so we're asking a bit more for it due to potential hassles.
Additionally I may need to pay for a second piece of checked luggage to bring everything back so part of the markup will go towards that. There is also the need to wake up at 6am to go to the venue, stand in the merch line for 4-5 hours, buy the items and then haul everything back. If you think the prices are too high that's okay but understand there's a non trivial amount of effort that goes into getting everything.
It is entirely possible some of these items may show up on asmart after the concerts but sizes may be limited as well as quantities. Plus with asmart you have to fight everyone else trying to buy and the server possibly crashing. If they do show up on asmart it'll also probably be at a less than ideal time for many people.
Unfortunately due to logistics I can only handle shipping to addresses in the US. I will be using USPS flat rate shipping unless another shipping method is explicitly requested. In the event you want multiple items naturally I will combine the shipping to save some money.
If you are interested please reply with what items you would like, what size if applicable and if asking for multiple items please make a a prioritized list.
In the event too many people request a particular item I will do my best to allocate items so that everyone gets at least one item from as high on their priority list as possible.
If you are worried about such a seemingly large deposit amount you can look through my post history. I have helped out a lot of people with goods in my time on this Reddit.
I always make an effort to be fair and we are simply asking for the deposit since we may be spending a large amount of our own money upfront to buy goods. The deposits will provide us with confidence that we won't get left with a bunch of unwanted goods.
Payment options that I'll be able to accept
- Chase Pay / Zelle
- Bitcoin / Ethereum
- PayPal (as a last option. i really dislike PayPal so if you can use one of the other two that'd be great)
