Basically, would you be willing to go back in time to when you were five years old with your knowledge of the world now, but when time flows again and you grow up, there are considerable changes?
Changes will include: - Names. Family members, friends, places, movies, etc. are all different - Arts and culture. The stories, games, movies, music, etc. you have loved no longer exist. However, there will be very similar types of entertainment available, but they will just feel like someone has created a knockoff for you (although everyone else in the world will enjoy Barry Trotter as much as you enjoyed Harry Potter, with similar yet different story lines). 'Iconic' entertainment you know today would all be different. - Appearances of things. Cities, houses, countries, etc. Will all roughly be in the same place and size but they might be built differently or look a bit different. - Historical Events. While the events will still occur, there are still going to have been minor changes. Maybe 9/11 happened on 8/27 and they hit two different buildings instead (but nothing that would alter your personal life). - Events that are going to happen in your life are also going to be different. Instead of Covid, it might be another kind of global medical event. Instead of Bitcoin, there will be another thing coming out. You won't have a way of knowing what it is unless you do your own research (so it's not so easy to be instantly rich, although still possible) and are experienced about it in enough to make your own informed choices. Your future partner might also look a bit different and act slightly differently, to the extent that they wouldn't be the same person you met in your former life (but would still end up with you if you chose to pursue them).
Basically, the world will just become unfamiliar to just you.
What stays the same: - Languages. All languages still mean the same thing so if you're referring to a Toaster, it's the same as your former life. However, brands will be different, so instead of saying 'Google it' it might become 'Polygon it'. - General course of events. You'll still know roughly what happens in the future given your former life, but just not specifics because of all the small changes. - Established science, physics, ethics. The laws of nature are still the same and laws will still be the same, although maybe the wording of things will be different and again, the names of everything will have changed.
Basically, important stuff will be the same with small changes.
What are some incentives of taking this offer? You would still be roughly aware of the future, so you could probably get rich if you wanted to. If you're old, then maybe this would be a great thing for you to become young again and live a new life. If you feel that entertainment has become boring for you, then maybe the change in things will be almost refreshing for you. If you are able to perfectly replicate some forms of music, books, arts, etc. And have the channels/capabilities to show them to the world, then you can do that to.
What are some disadvantages? Well the world as you know it is going to be gone. While you have knowledge, you will have to relearn a lot of things just because of all of the changes. You will have no way to access any old entertainment unless you can recreate it yourself (and unless you're a master and perfect memory, you'd never be able to perfectly replicate something, especially music).
Would you take the deal to go back?
