I was writing about the issue of blockchain regulation the other day. This issue has caused a lot of debate ever since the birth of blockchain technology. I believe that centralized supervision is needed for a decentralized world.
For example, Silk Road black market saw a lot of Bitcoin transactions back in 2011. At that time, cryptocurrency was not as popular as it is today, but it caters to the need for anonymity. I’ve peaked into the world of evil within some darknet sites, and blockchain technology without regulation would facilitate more of this. Especially with the development of anonymous cryptocurrency and cross-chain technology, money laundering will become easier and easier.
Therefore, I believe that regulation should go hand in hand with the development of blockchain technology. A lack of any regulation will lead to chaos in the market. After all, utter freedom can bring huge harm to the society, as recent events show.
