Anthony Scaramucci - Setting the Record Straight

tl;dr - Scaramucci will bring very positive exposure to Algorand

Anthony Scaramucci has been in the news lately and there has been a lot of belly aching in our beloved community about his praising Algorand. It is being said that the guy is a life long grifter and crook and he should in no way be associated with Algorand. While I may understand the resentment toward him because of his short lived career in the Trump administration, to think that this guy is a blemish on Alogrand's reputation is simply ridiculous. Let me try to set the record straight.

Before I begin, I have no opinion on Scaramucci's politics and I think it is irrelevant. He has since had a falling out with Trump for anyone who's interested. Also, I am not here to sing his praises, only to bring a counterpoint as to why I think what Scaramucci is doing is a positive for us.

Anthony "The Mooch" Scaramucci earned a BA Economics from Tufts and JD from Harvard Law. He worked at Goldman for many years before moving to fund management. In 2011 he received the Earnst & Young Enterepreneur of the Year Award.

Skybridge capital, a commingled fund of funds, was founded by Scaramucci in 2005 and is now managing over $7bn globally. He is currently Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at Export Import Bank of the US.

Skybridge hosts an annual conference that draws in big names from various industries around the world. It is a big event and this year the CEO of Algorand will be presenting. Here are some speakers this year that I think are notable. The full list of scheduled speakers is very long.

Steve Kokinos - CEO of Algorand

Ray Dalio - legendary investor and head of Bridgewater Associates

Sam Bankman-Fried - crypto billionaire and CEO of FTX Exchange

Marc Lasry - CEO Avenue Capital and a big name in finance

Thomas Lee - Co-founder Fund Strat and major BTC bull

Mike Novogratz - CEO Galaxy Digital

Kevin O'Leary - everyone's favorite sharkvillian and recent bitcoin convert

David Rubenstein - CEO of Carlyle Group

Delphi INFINIT - angel investor and runs an NFT infrastructure fund

Brian Brooks - former Comptroller of the Currency and short-lived CEO at Binance US

Sydney Schaub - Chief Legal Officer at Gemini

Joanna Reiss - Partner at Apollo Global Management

Petya Nikolova - Head of Infrastructure Investments, NYC Retirement System

Nathan McCauley - CEO Anchorage Digital

Dr. Michio Kaku - because everyone loves this guy

I could go on and on but my point is, the full list of speakers is a who's who of people that influence, manage, advise, consult on massive amounts of funds. I assume many will be hearing about how awesome Algorand is for the first time at this conference. Now tell me how is this a bad thing? Since Algorand's stated mission is to bridge the traditional finance world with blockchain, this is precisely the kind of exposure we want.

Would you still like to argue that Scaramucci is life long grifter?

Lastly, the mooch is raising $250 million to focus on decentralized finance investments. Scaramucci LOVES Algorand (and predicted we will see an "Algorand Autumn" akin to the "Solana Summer").

So I say, welcome aboard.

Thanks for taking the time to read and don't forget: friends don't let friends sell $algo.
