How is Monero Truly Private If..

Outside mining Monero directly how is it really private?

Currently I buy Bitcoin and convert to Monero, that’s a very traceable sequence of events, especially with the onboarding from BTC.

100% BTC holder bought some Monero last week. Appreciate any clarification
