Anon: Bitcoin Custody Anonymously

Anon is a bitcoin custody service that's completely anonymous. We don’t ask for any personally identifiable information from you. We don’t even require your email or phone number.

We offer only one product: the Bitcoin Vault. Simply put, Bitcoin Vault is a place to securely hold your Bitcoin.

To sign up for a Bitcoin Vault you need:

  • an anonymous username
  • a password
  • our mobile app

The mobile app will be our means of communication, it will provide two-factor authentication (2FA), and a couple other things.

That's all you need. Now you can start storing your funds securely in your anonymous Vault.

The Bitcoin Vault has a minimum clearing period of two days, which is the default setting. You can increase that to 30 days if you like. The clearing period gives both of us time to spot any unauthorized access to your account and stop it.

You can have as many Vaults as you like, each with a different clearing period.

We will notify you at multiple intervals of any pending outgoing transfer. We will contact you through email (if you provided that) and always through notifications on the mobile app.

Account recovery

If you lose your password or 2FA, you will not be able to log-in to your Anon account. But don’t worry, you can still be in control of your Bitcoin.

You don't need to reveal your identity to us unless you require account recovery.

You can use our mobile app to share the cryptographic hashes of your personal information. The cryptographic hashes are just numbers. They don’t tell us who you are. But if in the future you needed to recover your account, you will need to tell us who you are. Using the previously provided hashes, we can verify your claim.

After going through account recovery, your identity will no longer be anonymous. That’s why we will need to work together to close your account and delete all of your data. We will guide you through the transfer of your funds out and mixing them. After that, you can open a new Anon account. We get hundreds of new anonymous customers everyday. We wouldn’t know if any of them is you.

Cost

We want to align our economic incentives with serving our customers. That’s why we have a simple and very affordable fee structure for the Anon account.

Our service costs 0.01% of the amount kept in an Anon account per month, up to a maximum of $2,000 per month.

That is, we charge 100 Satoshi out of every 1,000,000 Satoshi you keep with us up to a limit.

In dollar terms, the monthly cost of:

  • $10 is 1/10 of a cent
  • $100 is 1 cent
  • $10,000 is $1
  • $20,000,000 is $2,000

If you kept $100 with Anon for a 100 years, the total cost would be less than $12.

We don’t require any payment method. Our monthly fee is deducted from the amount kept.

Privacy and security

We follow the strictest industry practices in safeguarding your funds.

Our systems are geographically distributed.

All of the software we build and use is open source and regularly audited by security experts.

Anon vaults are insured against theft and loss.

Our mobile app can only connect to the internet through TOR, so we can't even detect your location.

Legality

Anon is a United States based company. We are venture capital funded with employees all over the world.

We operate fully within the local legal boundaries.

Create your Vault today!

...just kidding...

Anon is an imaginary service! I wish such a service existed.

I know we're all about financial sovereignty, but no matter which way I look at it, safeguarding one's own private keys just doesn't feel right. I feel there should be a better way.

Is Buttcoin designed to protect Russia from sanctions?

I don’t typically submit posts to this sub, but like many here I think Buttcoin is a scam. I admit, I used to trade it back in the day. I bought hundreds of them for a few bucks and traded them for fun when they were just getting popular. I even kept a few on a wallet and totally forgot about them until the price was around 10k and ended up finding them and selling them right away for a nice little profit.

But I’ve always thought they were a weird novelty that clearly served the purpose of transferring money in an obscure way, mostly for nefarious reasons. Obviously they were a good way to buy drugs, and I assume some shady figures have used them to launder money, especially in the early days.

Today I was reading the Mueller report, and it mentions 3 Russian military units engaging in cyber espionage. One of the units specifically exists to mine bitcoins. The information about these units and their operations are redacted, unfortunately.

The mention of this bitcoin unit got me thinking about Russian involvement in bitcoin because in the early days, I remember thinking crypto was probably created by some intelligence service or government in order to trick people into donating their computing power in exchange for stupid internet money. However, I think I found a more plausible answer to why bitcoin exists.

While this is just speculation at this point, I think the Russians may be diverting state-sponsored investment funds using bitcoin. My theory is this: the Mueller report details a meeting Putin had with major oligarchs following the 2016 election, warning large banks that they need to make in-roads with the new administration because he expects the US to impose sanctions for Russian activities. These Russian bankers develop relationships with the administration through Kushner and his hedge fund buddy, hoping to get some insight into the new administration’s plan for future sanctions. Who knows what was discussed, but I don’t think the bankers got all the info they hoped for.

Fast forward to 2017. The Russia investigation becomes public. If you look at the timeline of events related to the investigation, especially concerning US figures who played a role in negotiating future easing of sanctions on Russia, they seem to correlate with the extreme price rise in bitcoin.

March 31, 2017 - Mike Flynn offers to testify about his meetings with Russia (this date marks almost the EXACT date bitcoin begins its huge rise)

June 12, 2017 - Senate passes sanctions bill (Bitcoins sets ATH just days before)

August 4, 2017 - Trump reluctantly signs bill into law (bitcoin sets new ATH less than one month after)

However, even though Trump signs the sanctions into law, he drags his feet for months and refuses to announce who the sanctions will apply to. Eventually, he announces he will have a list of sanctioned parties by the end of January 2018. It seems odd to me that between the time Trump signs the sanctions into law and the time they go into effect, bitcoin literally rises 3000% after the law is signed, and falls 1500-2000% just before they go into effect.

I feel like once the Russians knew the sanctions were certain, the administration wasted time to give the Russians time to launder their money, and a lot of it was moved through bitcoin and that is the only reason the price was so high for such a small amount of time.

Hi. I live in a rural area and I recently was thinking about something I could do locally to help educate local folks on digital currencies. I was wondering if anyone here had any ideas or maybe they've done something they could share.

I have an idea for a space in mind, so I was thinking of renting a space (which may be free or dirt cheap) and offering an educational class on what digital currencies, namely bitcoin, are all about.

Given my location in a rural area of the US, I think that people aren't aware of how digital currencies work, so I wanted to help give people the basics on them.

I'm looking for a few ideas on:

- Marketing to get people to come to this event

- Offering a "series" of educational lectures

- Anything else relevant to digital currencies and how to educate people on adoption

I wouldn't be doing this for money, if money were collected, it would go toward the rental of a space for the session. I would be doing it for personal satisfaction of educating others on what digital currencies actually are and why they are useful.

I consider myself to be a bitcoin evangelist, and I would love to spread the word about it. Any ideas the community has would be useful. I hope to also, with this post, inspire others to evangelize digital currencies to local folks in their communities!

Element Zero Launches Public TestNet Showcasing New Protocol, Effectively Eliminating Volatility

Innovative Stability-based Protocol Proves Key to Securing Value

SILICON VALLEY, Calif., April 16, 2019 -- Element Zero Network, a not-for-profit next generation payment network that addresses the weaknesses of existing stablecoin methodologies, announced today that the Testnet phase for the new Stability Protocol methodology has been completed. Public audiences will be able to interact with the world’s first algorithmic stablecoin prior to fundraising.

As indicated in a release first introducing the new methodology late last year, the Element Zero Protocol methodology for a new generation of stablecoins eliminates the possibility for any volatility, while aiming to challenge Bitcoin and current stablecoins as a common way of payment. The true value in the Element Zero stablecoin comes from the fact that it is not currency or commodity-backed.

The Element Zero Testnet is the first opportunity for users to use and validate the Element Zero stablecoin methodology by demonstrating how the new and proprietary two-way smart contract that maintains the coin’s stability. The unique design protects the stablecoin from any future volatility events while simultaneously retaining purchasing power against inflation. Using the TestNet, users will be able to simulate the purchase and sell of an Element Zero stablecoin (EZO) while interacting with the smart contract, thereby receiving a "behind the curtain" look at the precision and stability that maintains the value.

"From the beginning, we have felt an essential component of a stablecoin should be to offer protection from factors that induce volatility,” said Jude Regev, Founder and Chairman of Element Zero. “This Testnet phase has established Element Zero as a viable solution. Users can now see for themselves how our stablecoin, built to stand the test of time, will offer protection from numerous volatility-generating factors. We see this as revolutionary and are excited for the market to share in that sentiment through this Testnet.”

Presently, the cryptocurrency market relies on stablecoins trying to achieve stability by backing the coin with a currency, assets or commodities, intending that the market will trade the coin with the same value it has been pegged to. In addition, there are other stablecoins that are governed by creative internal protocols that try to stabilize the coin every time there is a variance in the market.

With the advent of many stablecoins on the market, we are seeing continued focus on their ability to maintain stability irrespective of market conditions. A principal concern for these stablecoins is that in the future, governments such as the U.S. will launch their own digital coin. Element Zero, as a model, is not subject to the same challenges that have thus far been prevalent in the market and can provide that much-needed consistency

Regev added, “We feel it is imperative for this Testnet to be accessible to a large audience at this early stage in order for people to validate the technology before we officially enter the marketplace. This new methodology is a departure from the standard models and people will have the chance to experience for themselves that this methodology undeniably works.”

Key Events In The Cryptoverse This Year: The Second Half Of 2019 Could Be Epic

It seems like everyone is waiting on signs that mass adoption is coming, or that institutional money will soon be flooding into the Cryptoverse, but we currently don't know when, or even if, these events will happen.

However, there are somethings that will definitely happen in the second half of this year and the beginning of next that have the potential to make the markest explode (and in the best way possible). So what are these events? Well, I think there are at least four of them, all associated with top ten cryptos, that could make for an epic end to 2019. These are:

  1. Litecoin Halving: In August 2019, the mining reward for Litecoin is set to half, potentially greatly reducing its availability, and presumably driving up the price. This could take the current number 6 back up to the point where it is once again threatening to flipper Ethereum for the number 2 slot. If this happens, it would get a lot of people talking, even in the mainstream media, and that would have a hugely positive effect on the cryptosphere as a whole, especially if it helped to bring in a swath of new investors and new money.

  2. Ethereum Switching To PoS: Ethereum is slated to start its move towards Proof of Stake (PoS) before the end of this year. If this happens, you'll be able to earn money just for hodling Ether. This will make Ether much more attractive to traditional investors, and as with Litecoin halving, it could result in a flood of new money coming into the Cryptosphere in general, as well as putting a very strong upward price pressure on Eth itself.

  3. Cardano Goes Decentralised: Currently languishing in the number 10 slot by market cap, Cardano is scheduled to finally start its move to decentralisation in the second half of 2019. As well as bringing in staking (and so the ability to earn an income just from hodling Cardano's native Ada token), we'll finally get to see whether Cardano really is the potential Ethereum killer people have always said that it could be. I expect businesses, in particular, to be following this very closely as it would seem that Cardano is a lot better set up for them to run smart contracts on than Ethereum. Again, this could be a huge boost to this project, and see its value once again approaching, or even passing, the $1 mark. If is does, expect the news of it doing so to spread rapidly and result in a whole lot of speculators piling onboard and driving the price even higher.

  4. Bitcoin Halving: While it won't happen until next year, the positive effects of Bitcoin halving should start putting an upward pressure on its price from July 2019 onwards, and this could push it back through the critical $10k theshold. If that happens, it could be that start of a year-long bull run that could take the Bitcoin price (and the market as a whole) into the stratosphere, and even as far as the Earth's famous natural satellite that everyone in every crypto project is always asking about!

There are my four key events for the second half of 2019. We know they all will happen, and the impact of any one of them could be phenomenal for the individual crypto involved, and for the wider market. Yet, they're all going to happen within a few months of each other, and this level of synchronisity between four such major events involving four top 10 cryptos is something we have never seen before, and, fingers-crossed, the results could be truly epic!

So, watch this space, and watch how SwissBorg develops, too. Currently, its Wealth Managament app is due for release in amongst these key events, and that could be the best possible time to release SB's key market-facing product.
