The FBI conducted a raid on the Manhattan residence of Shayne Coplan, the CEO of Polymarket. NYP
The raid is part of a broader investigation into Polymarket's operations, focusing on allegations that the platform allowed U.S.-based users to place bets, potentially violating federal regulations. In 2022, Polymarket settled with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) by paying a $1.4 million penalty for operating an unregistered derivatives trading platform and agreed to cease offering event-based binary options to U.S. customers. MarketWatch
Despite these measures, reports suggest that some U.S. users may have continued accessing Polymarket through virtual private networks (VPNs), raising concerns about compliance with the previous settlement and federal laws. The FBI's involvement indicates a criminal investigation into these potential violations. Reuters
Additionally, Polymarket's accurate prediction of Donald Trump's victory in the recent presidential election has drawn significant attention. Some speculate that the timing of the raid may be politically motivated, though authorities have not confirmed this. New York Post
As of now, no formal charges have been filed against Coplan or Polymarket, and the investigation is ongoing.
November 15th:
Stephen Spoonamore, an American entrepreneur and expert in electronic data security and digital network architecture, published a Duty to Warn Letter addressed to VP Kamala Harris about the suspicion of the America PAC Petition database being used to take individuals names and addresses to be used as "Ghost-Ballots" in the 2024 election.
When Mr. Musk announced his $1M lottery for people to go online and sign a pledge to vote for Trump, I became personally suspicious of why such a promotion would be done. I signed up to see what information he wanted and what the pledge actually stated. He did not want to know people’s socials or send them texts. To sign up you had to provide your street address. That was all they cared about. Once they had the people’s names, and street address this would allow for building a pool of ghost voters who could logically be marked for fake ballots, structured in a manner which matched ePollBook and precinct data. You, as a member of law enforcement, understand criminals need certain pre-conditions to act. A database of pledged supporters with street addresses is required for this hack. Law enforcement should immediately find the team of programmers who pulled the lottery data capture. They will find those programmers immediately parsed the data into a system based on voting precincts and created macros to constantly update the pledged lists of who had cast a vote, and who had not. The programmers likely did not know they were working on a system to be used to steal the election. When confronted with that fact, law enforcement would likely gain cooperating witnesses.
Questions Raised:
- Why was the America PAC Petition only for people in the swing states?
- Why was there a financial reward for signing a petition about free speech and the right to bear arms if you were from a swing state and were a registered voter?
- Why was there an offer to pay $47 if you refer someone who lives in a swing state and is also a registered voter?
- Why did the petition end on the 5th?
- Why are the "bullet ballots" (only voted for President) in the swing states greater than 5% when the rate of bullet ballots in neighboring states is at the normal rate of approximately 0.05% or less?
