I always liked choose your path stories (Part 2)

Part 1

My decisions had consequences. It's what I like about those types of stories.

Have you guys ever heard of the simulation theory? It's the idea that we live in someone else's computer simulation. It's a pretty simple idea and in my opinion gives an explanation to mysteries we're unable to solve like supernatural events and even a scientific explanation for "god". I think somehow, this website gave me access to that simulation, and gave me a second chance. A chance to change some zeros into ones, and vice versa. But the simulation, would do just that, it would simulate my life based on the choices I made, and if I changed choices it would re-simulate my life. But predicting those re-simulations was difficult. Really difficult. For example someone commented I should go and invest in things like amazon. I had never considered this in the past, and so I was never given the option. But luckily I was able to go back into sixth grade, when I had considered only asking for bitcoin for Christmas instead of usual presents. I was able to purchase five bitcoins, easiest $100,000 I had ever made considering I was also able to sell them at their peak of $20,000 per. I heard my phone buzz.

Whoa.

I scrolled through my snap chat. I had more contacts then I've ever seen. "What the hell?" I muttered to myself under my breath. Had my entire friend group really shifted? The short answer was yes. I had previously talked about how I didn't have any friends I could really trust. This was true, but, I still loved to hang around with them. This re-simulation had done way more than give me $100,000. I'm not really sure how, but I think this money had gotten to my head. Suddenly I was friends with hundreds on snap-chat. I scrolled through my text messages. I was texting 15 girls a day, and I assure you these were not conversations about wanting to be friends. On top of this I saw hundreds of texts about parties. I was partying so much. I hate parties, they're loud, annoying, smell terrible and overall just not very fun. I wondered what my personality was like? Had $100,000 really changed me that much? The simulation had re-simulated my life based on that decision alone. I suppose in school, money is power, and power corrupts. Would my real personality change with it?

What interested me was that I had no recollection of any of this at all. But. I had an idea. What if I never broke up with my girlfriend. No, not my freshman year girlfriend. Fifth grade. What if I never broke up with her. She was a nerd, she would keep me grounded, maybe I could keep all of this together, so I scrolled back. It took me a while to find the decision to break up with her, I changed it. We never broke up. She was at the top of my text messages. It was actually pretty cool, I had gotten a second chance to fix one of the biggest mistakes I had ever made. Except...? "wait wat?" I said aloud to my computer screen as if expecting a response

I looked to my left and there was a varsity soccer bag. Now I was just straight confused. What the hell had happened?

Everything you've read up to this point I did last night after posting.

I tried to fall asleep. I really did. But y'all know the feeling of being so tired and still not being able to fall asleep? I tried everything. Read a book, took deep breaths, tried counting down from 1000, hell I even counted some god damn sheep. I tossed and turn till about 2 am. Then I started reading up on my life and what had happened. I read a little a bit and managed to crash by 4. I woke up at 8 am and skipped school. I finished skimming over my life at 4pm and have been slowly writing this post ever since. I got texts from liberty asking me where I was. I started to feel my new personality leaking onto me. People I had never met were suddenly floating into memory. I decided to write down all of my good friends I had known. Trace. Jonny, Alex, Evan, Alberto, Bennett, Evan (2), Brian. I also decided to write down all the memories I had. There was this one time where I took trace to five guys and on the way back his ex called us and said she needed a ride. So we got back in the car, drove her home, and on our way got lost, we drove around downtown, and it was actually pretty fun. Sure we both got eaten out by our parents but it was a really fun, simple night. I also wrote down the time Bennett was trying to hook up with what he thought was a senior, but was really about twice our age. I also made sure to write down the time our entire friend group just sat around and talked on discord for hours late into the night.

The most troubling thing though, was Liberty, she had just....she just conformed to who I was. Don't get me wrong, I really liked her. Memories over the past half decade were flowing in like cold syrup onto a pancake. But I feel sorta bad, we had been on different paths of life and I forcefully put us back together. On top of this she had changed, gone was the Pokemon playing, shy, awkward girl who needed me to be social. But if I'm being honest, I was happy. I really liked Liberty, in fact, she was beautiful. She had dirty blond hair and golden skin that perfectly matched her hair. As the countless memories flowed back into me, I realized how much we had been through. When I started making all that money we kept doing what we always did, and we didn't change. At least, we didn't notice each other changing, we talked night after night on the phone and we just liked being around each other. But the most distinct memory to me, was her laugh. I can hear it over and over and it brings me joy each time. Not to mention I was on varsity soccer, in fact I had been since I was a sophomore, and my dad came to all my games and had been supporting me with signs. My new friends weren't all that bad, I mean partying is kind of fun, right? You get to stop worrying about life for a few hours and just have fun with your friends. ---

An important message to the community.

Hey,

Just wanted to stop by and give everyone a small update. To start, we want to thank every one of you for the continued support. Those who joined our community over a year ago, present and future Wanchainers. We've come a long way.

January 2018: Mainnet launch.

July 2018: Ethereum integration.

October 2018: Testnet Bitcoin integration.

December 2018: Bitcoin integration (and first of its kind).

Not to mention the countless partnerships, events and press releases we've launched over the course of the year. We are building the infrastructure for the future. Wanchain is setting the foundation before anything else.

Here are some of my answers to counter some of the uncertainty seen across our social channels.

No one uses Blockchain

Blockchain has only recently been studied in depth by individuals and corporations at large. Despite being around for many years it isn't until the past year that anyone outside of the crypto space have had the opportunity to dive into this technology. Proper use case takes time but the projects building out now have a big advantage. They are at the forefront of innovation. Building the future tools and platforms the new digital economy will rise from. Some will fall and others will prevail but soon enough we will see an influx of new users. Once it becomes easy to use the different blockchains and dapps - but we are heading in the right direction.

What do Airbnb, Uber and Netflix all have in common? More power to the people.

Uber lowered the barriers to entry to become a "taxi driver".

Netflix has made it easier for indie film makers to get exposure.

Airbnb allows anyone with a home to eamlessly rent it out

Bitcoin changed the way we transact value with others without relying on central authorities.

This interoperability is not needed

No single chain will rule them all. Each chain has its own infrastructure, community and language. With the world rapidly growing and people "becoming more connected" than ever before, how can we fathom a digital world that is divided? Imagine cross-chain as the "translator" between all these blockchains. Each chain with its own language needs to be translated for the other blockchain to "understand". Wanchain is building to become that translator. Facilitating the transfer of value between any blockchain. The use case now is and will be different to the one tomorrow but it is one that will eventually be a requirement to advance. We are fast and highly adaptable. We shifted our business strategy and weren't afraid to admit it (Phasing out Wanlabs). If our current strategies don't work we will change them around too but we are very confident about our platform and the need for it as this space continues to grow. Without interoperability the crypto space will not be able to advance.

You do too many crypto partner announcements

We established many big partnerships and collaborations in the past months: Maker Dao, Chainlink, Chain Accelerator (part of Station F) and more are in the works. We are building up this ecosystem with key partners. Each project, company and individual that is part of this will contribute to the growth and quality of the ecosystem. We don't wait for better days to announce important things. We announce them as soon as we are ready to. Everything else is noise.

Bitgo WBTC is a threat to Wanchain

Many roads lead to the same destination. One road might be faster. Other roads might feel more secure or look more appealing - but there isn't one right road. As for the Bitgo WBTC we are pleased that there is a centralized solution. Our solution will however eventually become completely decentralized and trustless. Wanchain is the platform which will shape the internet of value by connecting all the different blockchains and achieving the vision Bitcoin set out to build when it was created.

Read more about our WBTC solution here

What are you doing? We don't get many technical updates.

We are focused on development right now. We want to make it easier for developers to build on Wanchain. We are also in technical integration talks with top projects. Bridging blockchains is one part of our story  As we bridge all these blockchains we are also bridging the various communities.

Our team has also finished most of the PoS research and are working on the technical architecture. It won't be ready until late 2019 but once it's out, it'll be grand.

Internally we've come up with some impressive strategies that we believe will make Wanchain stand out again going forward. Similar to what Consensys and Joe Lubin just announced with their refocusing and restructuring, we've had to make a few layoffs as the market is in a slump, but our development is going stronger than ever - hitting milestones at an unprecedented rate.

..

As community members we want you all to stand together and spread the word. We are moving closer to adoption but the journey ahead is still long,

Stay tuned - we have some super exciting announcements coming up that we can't wait to share with you.

Thank you

Mitch McConnell's Brother-in-Law One of the Masterminds of Trump-Russia

Jim Breyer, Mitch McConnell's brother-in-law, Facilitates Russia’s Takeover of Facebook through Yuri Milner

In 2005 Jim Breyer, a partner at Accel Partners, invested $1 million of his own money into Facebook and gained a seat on the board (1).

In Feb 2009 Jim Breyer visited Russia with a number of other Silicone Valley investors. While there, Yuri Milner, a Russian tech entrepreneur who founded DST with close ties to the Kremlin, hosted a dinner to cap the entire event (2). As one Moscow source put it:

DST has the backing of the big boys at the top in the Kremlin, which is why it will go from strength to strength (5)

Milner found out Breyer liked Impressionist art and took him to Russian’s Hermitage Museum to view Matisse paintings otherwise closed off to the public. Three months later Yuri Milner’s DST invested into Facebook at a bloated value. (2)

Mr Milner dismissed suggestions that at a valuation of $10bn he overpaid for his stake in Facebook, especially given that the social networking site has yet to prove it has turned to profit. (3)

it’s seen as a desperate and rather vulgar deal on the one hand—Milner buying a small stake in Facebook, valuing the entire company at $10 billion—and, on the other, Facebook debasing itself by taking Russian money. Russian money! In fact, it seems rather like a desperate deal for both parties (in the midst of the banking crisis, Facebook has only two other bidders for this round—and none from the top VC tier) (4)

By the end of 2009, DST would own 10% of Facebook. Later revealed by the Paradise Papers, DST’s investments into Facebook were financed by the Russian government through state-owned Gazprom. That’s right, in 2009 Russia owned 10% of Facebook. (6)

Soon after, the two continued to work together on other investments. Breyer introduced Milner to Groupon, and Milner helped Breyer’s Accel invest into Spotify (7). In 2010 an Accel representative joined a gaggle of Silicon Valley investors to Russia and signed a letter promising to invest into the country (8).

Jim Breyer and Rupert Murdoch

Then in Nov 2010 Jim Breyer invested into Artsy.net, run by Rupert Murdoch’s then-wife, Wendi Deng, and Russia oligarch Roman Abramovich’s then-wife, Dasha Zhukova. Jared Kushner’s brother, Josh, also invested in the fledgling company (1).

At the time Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation had a joint venture with the Russian mob-linked oligarch Boris Berezovsky, called LogoVaz News Corporation, that invested in Russian media (4). It was Berezovsky’s protege close to Putin, Roman Abramovich, who tied Berezovsky to the mob.

According to the Mirror Online, Abramovich paid Berezovsky tens, and even hundreds, of millions every year for "krysha", or mafia protection. (5)

In June 2011, Rupert Murdoch ended his foray into social media by selling Myspace to Justin Timberlake (2) and elected Jim Breyer to the board of News Corp (3).

Jim Breyer invests in Wickr with Erik Prince

In 2012 Breyer invested in a encrypted messenger app, Wickr. Other investors include Gilman Louie and Erik Prince. To understand the connection, we need to go back to 1987. Breyer, newly hired to Accel Partners, made his first investment with Louie’s video game company that owned the rights to the Soviet Union’s first video game export, Tetris (1).

Louie went off to become the founding CEO of the CIA-backed In-Q-Tel which invested in Palantir. Palantir’s founder, Peter Thiel, sat on the board of Facebook with Breyer (2)(3). On the board of In-Q-Tel is Buzzy Krongard (7), the man who helped Erik Prince’s Blackwater receive their first CIA contract, who also joined the board of Blackwater in 2007 (6).

Around that same time, 2012-2013, Prince met Vincent Tchenguiz, founder of Cambridge Analytica's parent company, SCL (8), and was introduced to Cyrus Behbehani of Glencore, one of the purchasers of Rosneft stock detailed in the Steele Dossier (9). Cyrus Behbehani sat on the board of RusAl with Christophe Charlier, who is also Chairman of the board at Renaissance Capital (10), an early investor of DST (11).

Jim Breyer and Yuri Milner invest in Prismatic

That same year, 2012, Jim Breyer invested in Prismatic, a news aggregate app, with Yuri Milner.

Prismatic’s technology works by crawling Facebook, Twitter and the web (“anything with a URL”) to find news stories. It then uses machine learning to categorize them by Topic and Publication. Prismatic users follow these Topics and Publications, as well as Individuals and the algorithm then uses these preferences and user-activity signals to present a relevant Newsfeed. (1)

Sounds like the beginning of what could be a propaganda dissemination tool. That goes in-line with Yuri Milner’s vision of Social Media. Milner’s theory:

“Zuckerberg’s Law”: Every 12 to 18 months the amount of information being shared between people on the web doubles... Over time people will bypass more general websites such as Google in favor of sites built atop social networks where they can rely on friends’ opinions to figure out where to get the best fall handbag, how to change a smoke detector, or whether to vacation in Istanbul or Rome. “You will pick your network, and the network will filter everything for you,” Milner explained. (2)

So how does Milner intend to utilize the data gathered through social media? Let’s see what Milner did to Russia’s top social media site, VK:

In January 2014, Durov sold his 12 percent stake to Ivan Tavrin, the CEO of major Russian mobile operator Megafon, whose second-largest shareholder is Alisher Usmanov, one of Russia’s most powerful oligarchs, a man who has long been lobbying to take over VK.

Then, in April 2014, Durov stated he had sold his stake in the company and became a citizen of St Kitts and Nevis back in February after "coming under increasing pressure" from the Russian Federal Security Service to hand over personal details of users who were members of a VK group dedicated to the Euromaidan protest movement in Ukraine. (3)

The Euromaidan protest ousted the Russian-backed president of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, whom Paul Manafort had worked to install. (4)

Facebook talks US Elections with Russia

In Oct 2012 Zuckerberg traveled to Moscow and met Dmitry Medvedev where they had a very interesting conversation:

Mr. Zuckerberg and Mr. Medvedev talked about Facebook’s role in politics, though only jokingly in reference to its importance in the American presidential campaign, according to Mr. Medvedev’s press office. (1)

While there he also visited Victor Vekselberg's Skolkovo, who’s currently under investigation by Mueller for donations to Trump (2).

As Obama’s effort to reboot diplomatic relations [with Russia] sputtered, federal officials began raising alarms about the Skolkovo Foundation’s ties to Putin.

“The foundation may be a means for the Russian government to access our nation’s sensitive or classified research, development facilities and dual-use technologies” (3)

And took time to teach Russian's how to hack Facebook friend data, the same hack used by Cambridge Analytica, Donald Trump’s campaign data firm.

In a 2012 video, Facebook's Simon Cross shows the Moscow crowd how they can "get a ton of other information" on Facebook users and their friends. "We now have an access token, so now let's make the same request again and see what happens," Cross explains (YouTube). "We've got a little bit more data, but now we can start doing really interesting stuff. We can get my friends. We can get some more information about one of my friends. Here's Connor, who you'll meet later. Say 'hello,' Connor. He's waving. And we can also get a ton of other information as well." (4)

Facebook later hired the individual who hacked Facebook and sold the data to Cambridge Analytica (5).

A month after that visit, Putin propaganda mouth-piece Konstantin Rykov, claims he began helping with Trump’s presidential aspirations (6). Days later, Trump registered “Make America Great Again” (7). The following year, Russia's Troll Factory, the Internet Research Agency, was created as was Cambridge Analytica.

Andrei Shleifer and Len Blavatnik

Len Blavatnik, a US-Russian oligarch currently under investigation by Mueller, graduated from Harvard in 1989 and quickly formed Renova-Invest with Viktor Vekselberg, another oligarch under Mueller’s investigation (7)(8). Since then Blavatnik has maintained close ties to the university.

In 1992, after the fall of the Soviet Union, Andrei Shleifer led a consortium of Harvard professors to assist Russia’s vice-president, Antaoly Chubais, with the privatization of Russia’s state-run assets. Scandal broke when it was revealed Shleifer, through Blavatnik’s company and with Blavatnik’s guidance, invested in the very companies he worked to privatize. (6)

Years later, Shleifer continued to fund loans to Blavatnik for Russian ventures through his hedge fund, managed by his wife, Nancy Zimmerman (9), and created the Russian Recovery Fund which bought $230 million of Russian debt from Julian Robertson’s Tiger Management (10), who’s seed fun, Tiger Global, later invested in Milner’s DST.

Len Blavatnik and Viktor Vekselberg are major investors in Rusal (11).

Schleifer is still a professor at Harvard.

Breyer and Harvard

On April 2013, two months after Breyer was elected to the board of Harvard (1), Len Blavatnik, donated $50 million to the school (2) and joined the Board of Dean’s Advisors (3)(4) and Harvard’s Global Advisory Council (6) alongside Breyer. The next month Breyer announced plans to step down from the board of Facebook with an intention of focusing on his latest Harvard appointment (5).

In 2016 Len Blavatnik donated over $7 million to GOP candidates, including $2.5 million to Mitch McConnell himself (7).

Breyer invests in Russian Companies

In 2014 Breyer’s Accel Partners invested in Russian hotel booking site, Ostrovok, along with Yuri Milner, Esther Dyson (1), Mark Pincus, and Peter Thiel (2).

Accel Partners also invested in Avito.ru in 2012 (3) and KupiVIP.ru in 2011 (4).

Jim Breyer, Blackstone Group, and Saudi Arabia

In 2011 Schwarzman was named to the board of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (2), headed by Kirill Dimitriev.

In June 2016, during Trump’s presidential campaign, Jim Breyer met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin-Salman, or MBS (8). The next month Breyer joined the board of Blackstone Group (1) alongside Stephen Schwarzman and Jacob Rothschild (3). In the past Blackstone Group had loaned Kushner Companies a combined $400 million over multiple projects (7).

Jacob’s brother, Nat, is business partners with both Oleg Deripaska (4), Rupert Murdoch, and Dick Cheney (5). Nat is also a major investor in Glencore, one of the purchasers of Rosneft stock detailed in the Steele Dossier (6), and RusAl.

In January 2017, Breyer’s business partner at Wickr, Erik Prince, was introduced to Dimitriev by MBS’s emissary, George Nader, and the Crown Prince of the UAE (10).

On October 22, 2018, three weeks after the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, when most American investors were spooked away from Saudi Arabia, Jim Breyer showed up at an MBS-hosted Saudi business summit alongside Kirill Dimitriev of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (9). That same day, MBS pledged $20 billion for Blackstone Group's new infrastructure fund (11) to fund Elaine Chao's $1.5 trillion infrastructure plan (12). Elaine Chao, Mitch McConnells wife and Jim Breyer's sister-in-law, is Trump's Secretary of Transportation.

[uncensored-r/CryptoCurrency] Bytom (BTM) Prepares to Win the Game of Cryptos

The following post by DickQAQ is being replicated because some comments within the post(but not the post itself) have been openly removed.

The original post can be found(in censored form) at this link:

np.reddit.com/r/ CryptoCurrency/comments/a39ied

The original post's content was as follows:

Interoperability has been the goal of many projects that are based on the blockchain. Interoperability means a way to facilitate communication and transfer of digital assets between separate blockchains. Bytom was created not just for developing this solution, it was designed in such a way that it can connect the digital connection and ‘atomic’ worlds.

Based on Proof-of-Work hashing algorithm, Bytom is known as an interpretational protocol which supports multiple assets. Bytom is used to reduce the gap between the real world and blockchain. It’s a company based in China and according to Bytom’s white paper, the main objective of the Bytom team is to bring ‘atomic assets’ on the blockchain.

Strategic Co-operation with East Lake Big Data Asset Exchange:

Bytom has been the center of attraction for a very long time and based on its recent performance at the end of Q2 it has proven to one of the most promising Chinese blockchain projects. The platform declared reaching the first stage of bringing assets on the blockchain or, asset blokchainisation when they reached a strategic partnership with 8BTC on April 12th.

This co-operation was made as an agreement that will promote the development of Bytom assets and East Lake Big Data Asset Exchange. The first big data exchange center is situated in central China and it’s the first government-approved domestic service organization and its providing one-stop big data solutions for government agencies and vertical market.

Bytom Algorithm Public Release:

Bytom created a buzz in its community when they completed their most-awaited event i.e. Bytom algorithm public release at the famed Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). It was the first public event at which Bytom shared the in-depth details of its artificial intelligence friendly tensority algorithm. The tensority is a Proof-of-Work consensus algorithm which is based on tensor calculation.

This new scheme which is based on artificial intelligence is claimed to be an improved version of previous Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Ethereum algorithms. The conference consisted of many industry leaders, techies and entrepreneurs within the blockchain technology and they got introduced to the global elite on Bytom’s algorithm tensority. This event gave Bytom, a huge exposure which was required for a long time.

Bytom (BTM) Trading:

Bytom has placed itself in partnership with several pioneering companies and celebrated institutions in the blockchain. Bitmain, 8BTC, Wanchain, Superbloom are some of the few partners of Bytom. Apart from all these partnerships, Bytom has also collaborated with ConsenLabs who created imToken wallet app.

As for trading of Bytom (BTM), it is available on some of the most famous cryptocurrency exchanges such as Huobi, OkEx , KuCoin, Huobi, HitBTC, BigONE, Gate.io, EXX, Bibox, Etherdelta and many others.

Its performance has remained stable since its inception and the token has experienced a gradual growth ever since. The highest volume of Bytom is traded on Bibox exchange via the BTM/BTC pair whose daily volume surmounts to $11 million. It’s not available for direct trading US dollars hence, traders buy Bytom with their Bitcoin/Ethereum.

Current Status:

Currently, the Bytom markets are rising at a rate of 6.44% and its price point has reached $0.94. Its total market capitalization as shown at CoinMarketCap is around $930 million whereas the total circulating supply remains at 987 million BTM. In light of the recent events and due to all positive buzz surrounding this project, there’s a good chance of observing it jumping from its current 25th rank.

Partnership with leading industries, milestone achievements have raised its reach and expanded its community which has ultimately led to attracting investors who trust this project.

Conclusion:
