With the increase of cryptocurrency in the rate there are more and more real property sale offers for bitcoins.

The first event was reported about in 2012 — the owner of villa in Israel sold it for 5000 bitcoins. Nowadays real and commercial property for cryptocurrency is presented to public view all over the world — in Canada, London, Switzerland, Greece, Spain, USA, Indonesia and Russia.

https://i.redd.it/skimuwqapnv11.jpg

It is a chain of composed blocks or a decentralized transaction register that helps to digitalize any information in the whole world. The technology can become an instrument that confirms the trust to databases — it is impossible to edit the information in it without all the participants’ agreement. Blockchain is irreplaceable when people need confidence, trust, exception of fraud or data theft. On World Economic Forum this technology was admitted as one of ten most perspective ones, and the computer giant IBM made clear in the course of interrogation that the fourth of companies is ready to apply this technology already next year.

In 2019 it is intended to start AvailCom platform that will make revolution in the field of rented property. As the developers announced, everyone will be able to rent a real estate or a car and get access to it instantly. The idea entails in implantation of various innovations, the platform will be based on blockchain and smartcontract.

According to forecasts, mass adoption of the new technology will take place in between 7–10 years, but the programmers are already up to ears in work. The economy from this technology is measurable — the bank sector hopes that for 1$ of investments it will be possible to get $20 of saving. Strategy consultants of McKinsey announced the total saving figures — it is about $80 billion. The technology promises to change from the challenging novelty product to the instrument that will get whole sectors of economics interested in its development. For example, in the field of property rent blockchain can help to organize new forms of registers, titles of ownership and transaction processing. The blocks fixed in blockchain system will prove the traverse of title to property — money transactions, contracts and information about the owner will be verified.

That will allow to excide mediators who take the service fee during the process of real estate transactions — lawyers, realtors, notaries and staff of registration chambers. It’s minimum 5–10% of transaction sum. The risks of fraud, for example during the property rent or sale, will also recede, as well as time to prepare bargains and fact sheets. Specialized blockchain platforms will allow to prevent the data falsification and to simplify the process of property unit verification before the sale. The clients will get the access to the platform 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Bitcoin's 10 year anniversary: Learning from the past to build the future.

Today marks 10 years since the white paper "Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System" was posted to a cryptographic mailing list. Written by the still-unknown Satoshi Nakamoto, this paper led to the creation of Bitcoin, the world's first cryptocurrency.

If you've never read it, I strongly encourage you to do so (https://bitcoin.org/en/bitcoin-paper). The paper is fascinating in how it describes an innovative solution to "electronic cash." But perhaps an even more enduring legacy will be how it inspired an amazing chain of events. There are now over 2,000 cryptocurrencies in circulation, and the entire industry is worth over $200 billion.

Many of these cryptocurrencies are working not only to improve on ideas outlined in the original Bitcoin whitepaper but also to *explore completely new ideas.* An "electronic cash system" optimized for a long-term store of value, designed to have the freedom to rise while mitigating downside volatility, is one of those completely new ideas. It's what we're creating with ndau. So after you read Bitcoin's white paper, take a look at ndau's (https://ndau.io/whitepaper). We've done our best to learn from the past so we can build the future, and we'd love to hear what you think of our plan.

TGH Reddit Engagement Program & More Info On Our Competitions

Wrapping Up October's Competitions

Hey Reddit, The Golden Horde here. We're through yet another month and the year seems to be flying by at such a quick pace, before we know it we'll be into the new year. We wanted to create this thread (and article) to wrap up some of the events that we've had under way in the month of October, touch on the Engagement Program that we announced earlier this month, draw the first months winners and also briefly mention the Social Initiative Program (we should really think of more names not ending with program!)

Reddit Engagement Rewards Program

The title sort of gives away what this is all about but at the beginning of October we announced two programs one of which is this program that aims to encourage and reward community members who help cultivate discussion in this Sub Reddit. At the end of each month, we check for the posts that engaged the best and that are original content. The general rules are:

Team Posts, Reposts & Roadmap Updates are not counted

For this month there were two posts that stood out to us as clear candidates and you can track all this through the Top Sort in the Sub Reddit. Therefore the two winners for October 2018 are:

We'll be reaching out and sending some wall art to them both very soon!

Other Competitions

Over October we also launched a social bounty campaign for those who helped us share our Crypto Designathon art competition, a Slack Lucky Draw for Ark Slack users with the winner being (@dated) and a TGH Voter Raffle.

Social Initiative Program

The SIP program is something I'd like to touch on a bit better because I think there are lots in the community who could really benefit from this program. If you or someone you know is hosting an Ark Hackathon, Meetup, Conference or general talk then look no further than us at TGH to provide a piece of wall art for free for your event! It's super simple to enter and all the details can be found in the article below so make sure to check it out. We're able to send out four pieces per month (one per event) and then each month our stock refreshes! Nothing better than some free merch for your event!

Celebrating Ten Years of Bitcoin!

We're celebrating ten years of Bitcoin over at TGH_Society Twitter, where if you follow the rules you have a chance to win this sweet limited edition wall art piece and also a White Paper Ledger Nano S, that is limited edition only released by Ledger starting today for a short time.

You Can Check Out The Entire Article Here

On To November & BONUS ROUND

As always expect our monthly update in the next few days, which will truly cover everything we've been up to this month and more!

BONUS ROUND: Wait whaaaat? That may be what you're asking yourself when you hear the words "Bonus Round", or maybe you're thinking... Colby you've really gone off the deep end... well in that case you could be right but what the bonus round really is... is simple!

Yesterday we released an Ark Heroes Sticker Pack and we want your help with the next ideas.. the rules are simple: over the next hour you must comment a character idea that you'd like to see in the next wave of Stickers for the pack. Here's some example ideas:

  • Skeleton Biker Mike
  • Mike In A Lambo
  • Bold Ninja Thumbs Up Emoji

I'll be sending 3 Ark to anyone who gives an idea within the next hour!

As always hope everyone has a great day/evening. Colby - TGH

Bitcoin P2P e-cash paper

I've been working on a new electronic cash system that's fully peer-to-peer, with no trusted third party.

The paper is available at: http://www.bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf

The main properties: Double-spending is prevented with a peer-to-peer network. No mint or other trusted parties. Participants can be anonymous. New coins are made from Hashcash style proof-of-work. The proof-of-work for new coin generation also powers the network to prevent double-spending.

Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System

Abstract. A purely peer-to-peer version of electronic cash would allow online payments to be sent directly from one party to another without the burdens of going through a financial institution. Digital signatures provide part of the solution, but the main benefits are lost if a trusted party is still required to prevent double-spending. We propose a solution to the double-spending problem using a peer-to-peer network. The network timestamps transactions by hashing them into an ongoing chain of hash-based proof-of-work, forming a record that cannot be changed without redoing the proof-of-work. The longest chain not only serves as proof of the sequence of events witnessed, but proof that it came from the largest pool of CPU power. As long as honest nodes control the most CPU power on the network, they can generate the longest chain and outpace any attackers. The network itself requires minimal structure. Messages are broadcasted on a best effort basis, and nodes can leave and rejoin the network at will, accepting the longest proof-of-work chain as proof of what happened while they were gone.

The Bitcoin White Paper’s Birth Date Should Give Us All a Scare

This month marks not only the 10-year anniversary of the publication of Satoshi Nakomoto’s now famous white paper, but it also marks a decade since the darkest days of the 2008 financial crisis.

With hindsight, the timing of the release of the bitcoin white paper and launching of the bitcoin network could hardly have been better. Did Satoshi Nakomoto at the time fully grasp the historical significance and unique opportunity presented in autumn 2008 to kickstart a new financial system and motivate people to use a new currency?

It is timely to reflect back on both these events, and how the two have evolved in the years since arguably the greatest global financial shock since the Great Depression.

The Post-Lehman Legacy of Ashes

The 2008 financial crisis reached its nadir with the collapse of Lehman Brothers on September 15, just six weeks before Satoshi Nakamoto published the bitcoin paper.

With the passage of time and post-crisis economic recovery, some may have forgotten just how serious the financial crisis was. In fact, Lehman’s bankruptcy led to such a panic that famed Wall Street wizards like Pimco’s Mohammed El-Erian asked his wife to withdraw cash over the fear that ATMs could stop working.

In the wake of the Lehman cataclysm, a number of initiatives arose that were aimed at preventing another financial crisis. New regulations and capital requirements like the Dodd-Frank Act in the U.S. and the Basel III banking standards were introduced. A second response to the crisis was socio-political, marked by the rise of movements like Occupy Wall Street.

What has been the lasting impact of these regulatory and social initiatives?

From our vantage point today in 2018 we can see that financial institutions like Lehman are not the only things that have been reduced to ashes. Many of the regulatory restrictions on financial institutions introduced post-crisis have been or are in the process of being eroded away, and social movements like Occupy Wall Street have long since fizzled out and faded into memory.

Given the lack of lasting structural and political reform, should we expect another financial crisis? The short answer to this question is an unequivocal yes.

The Next Financial Crisis

The economist Hyman Minsky developed a theoretical framework showing that reoccurring financial crises are an inherent feature of our current financial system. In other words, it is always only a matter of.... See more>>> https://altcointoday.com/the-bitcoin-white-papers-birth-date-should-give-us-all-a-scare/

LUCRE: Breaking the grounds for a better crypto trading performance

https://i.redd.it/p5n560rbmjv11.png

Digital assets or crypto currencies are slowly being accepted in general by the public as another type of assets that is of great value as well, similar to physical assets or fiat. However, just like fiat, there are multiple types of crypto currencies being generated as well. Generation is done almost every week where new tokens are developed along with new crypto projects. Such fact leaves crypto investors in a dilemma whether to HODL or not.

HODL is a term coined from the mere play of words from its real term, hold. Because many crypto investors are solely focused on investing to new and more business-generating crypto projects, many often leave their tokens stagnant or simply holding on to them without letting its value flow. While this type of investment can generate returns as well, but not quite as much when tokens or digital assets are being played along the ups and downs of the market.

But because investors are often afraid of playing the game of trade and diving along the tides of the market, the team of experienced professionals behind LUCRE has developed an auto trading algorithm that ensures minimal falls and maximum profit gain done fully with little user interaction. This way, investors or token holders can maximize the gain and ROI of their acquired assets.

Stability of cryptocurrency. What does it mean?

For a long time, leading digital currencies, such as Bitcoin and Ether, continue to soar around average price points, which remain relatively stable. Of course, significant news of the cryptocurrency market can send shock waves throughout the market, quickly causing a surge or a fall in prices. However, as the events of the past week have shown, digital tokens seem to be prone to returning to familiar price ranges. Almost all the top 10 digital currencies by market capitalization are being traded horizontally throughout the week. Although some coins fell at the end of the week, Bitcoin remains relatively close to the $6,500 threshold, while Ether is pegged to the price of $200.

TEMCO’S VERY FIRST SUCCESSFUL MEEUP!

https://i.redd.it/a2naaylsejv11.jpg

TEMCO’s very own first ever meetup was completed with success!

Everything was planned out accordingly and it was a great event that many people showed up to learn about TEMCO, as the first dApp to utilize RSK’s smart contract and side chain technology on the bitcoin network.

For those in overseas and couldn’t make it to the meetup, thank you for supporting from far away and appreciate for following up with us all these times!

So, the meet up was at a hotel called “Hotel Riviera”, which is known for very big events. Occasional usage for this place is for weddings and large up-scale events, and known for having various celebrity guests coming by.

The meetup started out with a buffet dinner with some champagne and wine, around 7PM.

Then, we had an introduction section with our very own TEMCO’s CEO, Scott Yoon.

The CEO explained how he got interested in blockchain technology when he was working at POSCO and very excited to hold TEMCO’s first meetup. Also, how Small and Mid-size businesses need a solid solution to track their supply chain records and securely access them without having a third party altering the information.

The CEO also noted the Business Intelligence tool and Consumer application that TEMCO is developing, which will change how companies and consumers react to the services and products.

After a brief introduction about TEMCO, the event continued with a panel talk by partner companies. The panel consisted of representatives from Foundation X, Korea Investment Partners, Blockchain i, Nexus One, and TLDR.

1. General questions

Where can I download the Monero wallet?

There are multiple Monero wallets for a wide range of devices at your disposal. Check the table below for details and download links. All wallets listed below are open source. Attention: for extra security make sure to calculate and compare the checksum of your downloaded files.

Desktop wallets

Wallet Device Description Download link
"Official" GUI / CLI Windows, Mac OS X, Linux The default implementation that is maintained by the core team. Use this one to run a full node and obtain maximum privacy.Has Ledger (hardware wallet) integration. Current version: 0.13.0.3 / 0.13.0.2. GetMonero.org
MyMonero Windows, Mac OS X, Linux MyMonero is a lightweight wallet, which means you don't need to download the blockchain and run a node. MyMonero was developed with the assistance of the core team. They also have web-based and iOS versions. GitHub

Mobile wallets

Wallet Device Description Download link
Monerujo Android Popular Android lightweight wallet that has very cool features, like integration with xmr.to which lets you send payments in BTC using your XMR. It also has Ledger (hardware wallet) integration. Website: https://www.monerujo.io/. Google Play / F-Droid / GitHub

Web-based wallets

Wallet Description Link
MyMonero Web version of the MyMonero wallet. All versions have interoperability. Web
XMRWallet Web wallet with TOR support. ⚠️ Relatively new - use with caution! ⚠️ Web / Onion URL

How long does it take for my balance to unlock?

Your balance is unlocked after 10 confirmations (which means 10 mined blocks). A block is mined approximately every two minutes on the Monero network, so that would be around 20 minutes.

How can I prove that I sent a payment?

The fastest and most direct way is by using the ExploreMonero blockchain explorer. You will need to recover the transaction key from your wallet (complete guide for GUI / CLI).

How do I buy Monero (XMR) with Bitcoin (BTC)?

There are dozens of exchanges that trade Monero against Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Check out the list on CoinMarketCap and choose the option that suits you best.

How do I buy Monero (XMR) with fiat?

  • Kraken (USD and EUR): old-school, decent exchange. They might require your documents for verification and approval of your account.
  • LocalMonero: peer-to-peer exchange. They have pretty much everything as a payment method and they support hundreds of fiat options.

How do I mine Monero? And other mining questions.

The correct place to ask questions and discuss the Monero mining scene is in the dedicated subreddit r/MoneroMining. That being said, you can find a list of pools and available mining software in the GetMonero.org website.

2. Wallet: CLI & GUI

Why I can't see my balance? Where is my XMR?

Before any action there are two things to check:

  1. Are you using the latest available version of the wallet? A new version is released roughly every 6 months, so make sure you're using the current release (compare the release on GetMonero.org with your wallet's version on Settings, under Debug info).
  2. Is your wallet fully synchronized? If it isn't, wait the sync to complete.

Because Monero is different from Bitcoin, wallet synchronization is not instant. The software needs to synchronize the blockchain and use your private keys to identify your transactions. Check in the lower left corner (GUI) if the wallet is synchronized.

You can't send transactions and your balance might be wrong or unavailable if the wallet is not synced with the network. So please wait.

If this is not a sufficient answer for your case and you're looking for more information, please see this answer on StackExchange.

How do I upgrade my wallet to the newest version?

This question is beautifully answered on StackExchange.

Why does it take so long to sync the wallet [for the first time]?

You have decided to use Monero's wallet and run a local node. Congratulations! You have chosen the safest and most secure option for your privacy, but unfortunately this has an initial cost. The first reason for the slowness is that you will need to download the entire blockchain, which is considerably heavy (+70 GB) and constantly growing. There are technologies being implemented in Monero to slow this growth, however it is inevitable to make this initial download to run a full node. Consider syncing to a device that has an SSD instead of an HDD, as this greatly impacts the speed of synchronization.

Now that the blockchain is on your computer, the next time you run the wallet you only need to download new blocks, which should take seconds or minutes (depending on how often you use the wallet).

I don't want to download the blockchain, how can I skip that?

The way to skip downloading the blockchain is connecting your wallet to a public remote node. You can follow this guide on how to set it up. You can find a list of public remote nodes on MoneroWorld.

Be advised that when using a public remote node you lose some of your privacy. A public remote node is able to identify your IP and opens up a range for certain attacks that further diminish your privacy. A remote node can't see your balance and it can't spend your XMR.

How do I restore my wallet from the mnemonic seed or from the keys?

To restore your wallet with the 25 word mnemonic seed, please see this guide.

To restore your wallet with your keys, please see this guide.

3. Wallet: Ledger

How do I generate a Ledger Monero Wallet with the GUI or CLI?

This question is beautifully answered on StackExchange. Check this page for the GUI instructions, and this page for the CLI instructions.

4. Nodes

How can my local node become a public remote node?

If you want to support other Monero users by making your node public, you can follow the instructions on MoneroWorld, under the section "How To Include Your Node On Moneroworld".

How can I connect my node via Tor?

This question is beautifully answered on StackExchange.
