Last week large cap altcoins outshone the traditional market leader Bitcoin, with Ripple (XRP), Ethereum (ETH) and Stellar (XLM) enjoying big weeks with gains of ~104% , ~36% and ~11%, respectively — while BTC only up a conservative ~3%. Overall the entire crypto market capitalization grew by ~8%. The spark of growth created a new wave of bullish optimism, and supported the idea that crypto may end 2018 with bull run, as new trading volume and external interest appeared to enter the market.

A number of factors may have influenced XRP's strong run over the 2nd half of last week: A major deal with top-10 American bank, PNC, to use the X-current Ripple service to expedite payments to commercial clients. The potential launch of a commercial version of X-rapid (which directly uses XRP) that will allow for transactions between XRP, USD, Mexican and Philippines Peso. And speculative momentum created by an upcoming annual conference featuring an impressive list of speakers including former president, Bill Clinton.

It was also an important week for crypto infrastructure, with the New York Attorney General's office publishing a crypto exchange report which covered key players including Coinbase, Kraken and Bittrex. The report did not mince words, containing direct accusations of market manipulation. It did, however, endorse steps taken by platforms like Gemini to improve their market monitoring and surveillance procedures, indicating that for some participants at least, there is active progress being made within the crypto infrastructure space.

Meanwhile in Asia, Japanese exchange Zaif suffered a multi-million dollar hack. While the breach did not negatively impact the crypto marketplace, it did lead to a major restructuring of the Zaif company, and created more question marks surrounding the perceived robustness of crypto regulation, and the overall security of platforms within traditional East Asian hubs of South Korean & Japan.

25th September- STEEM Velocity Hardfork

STEEM, the native token of the Steemit social content platform will undergo a major hardfork and implement a number of new features this Tuesday. The blockchain will now include a new internal token, Resource Credits (RC), which are non-transferrable and are rewarded based on the size of a user's stake and their transactions on the STEEM blockchain. There will also be significant restructuring of the account creation, curation, and witness (block producer) features baked into Steem. STEEM tokens have had a strong week, up over 20% and this update may help fuel more bullish momentum.

28th September- CME Bitcoin futures last trading date

This Friday the latest round of CBOE BTC futures (XBT) expires. The nature of futures contracts means they need to be settled on a set predefined date based on a contract. All CME contracts will have to be traded before this date, to avoid having to deal with the complication of having to deliver on the underlying asset. There is generally a fall in the trading volume of futures around expiration dates, as traders prefer cash settlement over an expired contract, and having to deal with delivery hassles.Daily volumes of Bitcoin futures have hovered between 2,000 and 6,000 on the CME platform over the last month, and a potential short squeeze driven by a bullish momentum may affect the BTC marketplace.

1st-2nd October- Ripple Swell conference

The 'Swell by Ripple' annual conference occurs early next week in San Francisco, and has generated genuine buzz thanks to an impressive list of political and industry speakers, including Bill Clinton, Deputy counsel of the IMF Ross Leckow and Former Superintendent of Financial Services for New York Ben Lawsky. XRP's short term momentum appears to be continuing through to the start of this week, and the keynote speakers at the event indicate that Ripple's clout extends beyond the blockchain/fintech space, and may help XRP continue its upward trend.

Top 10 Crypto Summary

📷

It was a very strong week of trading for large cap alts as mentioned earlier. Besides the strong weeks for XRP, ETH and XLM, Cardano(ADA) grew by ~31%, EOS by ~ 11% and BCH by ~10%. The rise of the alts has also diminished BTC's market dominance to under 52% and may be indicative of a market more willing to take risks and a re-emergence of faith in the wider crypto sector.

📷

It has been a comparatively quiet seven days for the BTC marketplace, with crypto's blue chip asset gently rising ~2.5%. The week's biggest 'lightbulb moment' may have been the ability of BTC markets to bounce back from news that the SEC would delay its decision on the much hyped Van Eck SolidX Bitcoin ETF for as long as six months. Indicating that for many in the market, a bitcoin ETF is no longer a 'must have' to justify their faith in the currency.

On a fundamental level, BTC's hash rate and difficulty continue to rise steadily. While other metrics such as Active Addresses and Sent from Addresses show steady short term growth patterns.

Malta Financial Services Authority prompts Bitcoin Future to be at risk of fraudThe Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) has recognized an entity called Bitcoin Future. The entity appears to exhibit the same deceptive characteristics as another entity, Bitcoin Revolution. The MFSA had previously issued a public warning on January 25, 2019 and August 29, 2019 at Bitcoin Revolution. Bitcoin Future is not a registered company in Malta, nor is it an entity operating under the provisional provisions of Section 62 of the Virtual Financial Assets Act, nor is it authorized to provide any financial services in Malta. In addition, the information obtained by the MFSA indicates that Bitcoin Future may be an international “fast get rich” cryptocurrency scam. Therefore, the public should avoid any business or transaction with an entity operating under the above name.

Recently, there were mostly range moves above the $9,000 support area against the US Dollar. BTC corrected lower below the $9,150 level and settled below the 100 hourly simple moving average.

The recent low was formed near the $9,013 and the price is currently holding the $9,000 support area. It is climbing higher and trading above the $9,100 level. Moreover, there was a break above the 23.6% Fib retracement level of the recent decline from the $9,534 high to $9,013 low.

However, the price seems to be facing resistance near $9,200 and the 100 hourly simple moving average. Additionally, this week’s followed major bearish trend line is active with resistance near $9,150 on the hourly chart of the BTC/USD pair.

Crypto Custody Firm Xapo Initiated 5 Whale Transfers On Nov 1
Citing data from the Bejijing-based blockchain security company Chainsguard, the Bitcoin network witnessed multiple whale transfers on Nov 1. At 21:10:38 UTC on Nov 1, Xapo, a Bitcoin custody service provider, has conducted five whale transfers with the largest amount within one transfer marking up to 20,000 BTC. The total number of moved BTC in these transfers records 65822.01. Many of these BTC originated from the transfers of 4,999 to 10,000 BTC collected by Xapo on the Bitcoin chain at 19:19:49 and 19:32:12 on the same day. One of the main BTC sources initiated by the address starting with 37whD5 was crypto exchange Bitstamp.
Previously, the above-mentioned exchange announced that its custodian would change to BitGo. Otherwise, Bitstamp had a great transfer with more than 110,000 BTC involved on October 15. At 20:53:20 on Nov 1, the wallet address beginning with 3AdpZc initiated a transfer of 5000 BTC to the exchange Poloniex. After analysis, the source can be traced back to the coins accumulated by Poloniex in March 2016.
Generally speaking, the whale transfer carried out by institutions comes from the needs of business or customers. Sometimes, it is only the planned wallet management.

Utah To Facilitate Voting For Disabled Individuals Through Blockchains
Recent reports indicate that blockchain technology will soon be used in Utah, as part of a trial project meant to allow disabled individuals to cast their votes. To put things into perspective, the local council and government of Utah have decided to allow blockchain-based voting via smartphones in the upcoming municipal election that will take place in November. The platform that disabled voters will be using for this election represents the result of a fruitful partnership between the Utah Country Elections Division, the National Cybersecurity Centre, Tusk Philanthropies and Voatz, a local voting app development company.

Ethereum To Increase The Blocksize By 8x
Ethereum is partially addressing the many complexities of sharding by simply increasing the blocksize from the equivalent of about 1MB every ten minutes to circa 8MB.
Danny Ryan, the Ethereum 2.0 coordinator, publicly said: “We are making the blocks bigger based on recent research on safe block size and propagation times, so the data availability of the system is still > 1MB/s so you can still get similar scalability gains when doing things like ZKrollup and OVM.”
ZK rollups are a hybrid scaling method that combines on-chain security and second layer networks through smart contracts and zero knowledge methods. OVM is the Optimistic Virtual Machine from Plasma, with both being more sort of on top of Ethereum’s public blockchain.

During the first quarter of the year, Bitcoin was trapped inside a tight trading range, where major players began buying the fear of retail crypto investors and accumulating the asset at the lowest possible prices.

Starting in the second quarter, the first-ever crypto asset rocketed up from that trading range, and went on a parabolic rally that didn’t stop until Bitcoin met former bear market resistance at $14,000 where it was rejected.

After three consecutive red monthly candles in a row, October closed green and kept a potential bull flag formation on monthly price charts intact, giving bulls hope that the crypto asset’s 2019 rally isn’t totally finished.

CloudCoin Bulletin 104

Forecast message from Consortium President

Consortium President Sean Worthington recently shared his forecast on the possible trading price of CloudCoin over the next few years:
I believe the price of CloudCoin is dependent on five variables, any one of which can be a bottleneck and keep the price low:

  1. RAIDA must work if the client software is to work.
  2. Client software must work if people are to buy, sell and trade CloudCoin.
  3. People must be able to buy, sell and trade if we are to market them virally so that people continue using CloudCoin and feel confident telling their friends.
  4. We must market effectively to attract and keep a huge network of users.
  5. The more users (demand) we have, the higher the price given a fixed (scarce) supply.

The price cannot go up unless all the variables have capacity. The variable with the least degree of freedom controls the equation. It is like having a pipe with five parts and water flowing through each part. The part that constricts the most becomes the bottleneck and holds the price down.
The first part is the capacity of the network infrastructure: RAIDA. I am certain that RAIDA has better infrastructure than any other payment system including Visa, PayPal and bitcoin. RAIDA is more efficient, faster, scalable and more private than anything else. RAIDA is not visible, but we have put huge amounts of work into it and have developed something exceptional that no one can compete with.
The second part of the pipe is the client software. We have just finished 95% of this; it is first-rate and works well. We expect to have our web-based software released soon and we have a new system that makes it look as if we are paying with credit cards. The client software is really opening up the flood gates of value so that the price will go up. I believe we can deliver client software that is better than any other system. When looking at the pure function of sending and receiving money, I am confident that right now our desktop software is better than PayPal, better than Bitcoin, and better than Visa.

The third element is liquidity. People will be more likely to buy and use CloudCoin once they can quickly change dollars into CloudCoin and CloudCoin into dollars (or other fiat currencies). CloudCoin has been attacked or blocked by major payment services and locked out of big exchanges. Banks have closed accounts of Consortium members and related entities. We have put off a big battle with the establishment, but we can now fight back. We have to become more liquid than PayPal, Visa, bitcoin, etc. This is a tall order, but we have something that these payment systems do not have. We have a global authentication system: RAIDA. Although RAIDA is used to authenticate CloudCoins, we can also use it to globally authenticate people and create trust.
There are many aspects of liquidity. The biggest is our peer-to-peer exchange software. We are about 90% done on the exchange. People will initially be able to plug-in their PayPal or Stripe accounts, then we will add 30 of the biggest payment systems in the world including systems from Europe, India, Africa and Asia. We will be able to exchange nearly any digital currency in the blink of an eye. We will even have cash and check systems.
An exchange is not the only liquidity project we are working on. We have a two-month schedule to finish merchant payment systems, white-label CloudCoins, RAIDA Mail, RAIDA Data, APIs, documentation, plug-ins and a CloudCoin store. We hope to accomplish this before the New Year. We will even have a video game that uses CloudCoins.
Next comes marketing. Once the liquidity is achieved, we can tell people about CloudCoin with confidence. This process will not be easy. What we really want is for CloudCoin to go viral. We need to do a little marketing, have people try CloudCoin, find out what they don't like about it, and fix that. Then market again. We will try to improve and improve until everyone tells their friends and it goes viral.
Lastly is what I call operations. This is our ‘make or break’ area. When we are successful, we can expect a lot of attention from governments, hackers, media, etc. We can expect huge traffic growth on our servers. We will need to strengthen everything, and that includes our own organization. I will start stepping aside to allow many others to take leadership roles. Once CloudCoin is around for a while and is able to take the attacks from everything, the price will go up even more.
How much will the price go up?
My expectations are that the price will go increase to at least US$0.95 three years from now. We will gradually ramp up marketing efforts through mid-2020, which I expect will positively affect coin prices. Once we have things working virally, I believe the price will explode. If it does not, it will create an opportunity for us to look at what we are doing wrong and what is not working for people. The number of CloudCoins is fixed and in 29 months all the coins that have been minted will have been spent into existence. It may be this scarcity event, with no new future supply, that stimulates demand and causes prices to explode.
Either way, we should see tremendous and exciting growth for CloudCoin between 2020 and 2022.

Consortium to formally organize as Swiss e.V.

The CloudCoin Consortium plans to have a formal legal structure soon by associating as a Swiss eingetragener Verein , or "registered voluntary association," governed by Swiss Civil Code.
The Verein will be formed in Zug canton, known as a hub for digital currency and other disruptive technologies.
The Consortium may then formally be known as "CloudCoin Consortium, e.V."

CloudCoin Wallet upgrades available

Developers continue to make improvement to the CloudCoin Wallet software. The latest version (v. 2.1.19) is available now for download . This edition adds additional improvements to the user interface and separates some coding logic to make later changes easier to implement. 2.1.19 has all of the functionality currently planned for the wallet, but other more advanced features will be added in the future.
Video and handbook tutorials are also available to help users master the new software.
A fun "learn and earn" program is underway to reward users for downloading the latest CloudCoin Wallet software, learning about its functionality and providing feedback. There are additional opportunities to earn CloudCoins by sharing your experiences with friends and through social media.

The quantum revolution

There continues to be new advances and developments in quantum computing each week, and CloudCoin Weekly Bulletin will try to keep readers up-to-date.
phys.org: Researchers create quantum chip 1,000 times smaller
Scroll.in: On molecular spintronics (& good overall quantum primer)
Advances in quantum computing continue to be realized much more quickly than expected. Its advent will effectively make all current forms of encryption, the basis of all digital currencies except CloudCoin, obsolete.
Quantum computers rely on quantum mechanical phenomena like superposition and quantum entanglement to radically outperform classical computers, both in terms of speed (possibly 20 million times faster) and sheer dimension (a quantum computer can approach problem solving in ways no conventional computer can). Quantum computing calculations involve qubits rather than traditional bits. While bits are binary (limited to being either a 1 or a 0), a qubit can be a 1, a 0, or anything in between or both 1 and 0 at the same time !
An easy analogy is to imagine a globe of the earth. A bit can be either the point on the globe that is the North Pole (1) or the point on the globe that is the South Pole (0). A qubit, however, can be every point on the globe and every point within the sphere of the globe, all at once.

RAIDAtech completes successful crowdfunding

RAIDAtech , the private company that develops new applications for RAIDA technology, has completed a crowdfunding raise of over $300,000 from nearly 200 small investors. The company conducted a private placement round last year, as well.
RAIDAtech will be officially launching its RAIDA Engage suite of customer engagement/immersion solutions this month at a major smart packaging conference in the Netherlands. The technology allows digital currency (CloudCoins) to be placed in or on consumer product packaging to reward and incentivize customers.
RAIDAtech was founded last year by Sean Worthington and is a separate entity from the CloudCoin Consortium, although RAIDAtech's success will also benefit CloudCoin by expanding utility and value of the RAIDA network's native currency.

How to Explain the scarcity opportunity in Bitcoin: "Runescape Holiday drops"

Hi all,

A lot of people struggle to explain the scarcity element of Bitcoin and why this has value to your buddies or to the so called No (or Pre) Coiners. I think a very easy way for people to understand is by relating to an old version of the MMORPG Runescape r/2007scape, the classic and 2007 editions. As many people of my generation have played this game it can be an easy bridge for the ones that still remember it to Bitcoin. Anyone that played this game will remember so called “Holiday drops” as in the first few years the game existed Jagex (owner of the game) dropped random items such as Christmas crackers, Party hats, Easter eggs, Halloween masks and Santa hats. If you are struggling to explain to No (pre) coiners why Bitcoin has value, simply ask them if they (or perhaps their kids) have played Runescape and if the answer is "Yes" ask them about the value of one of those holiday drops. They will for sure recognize it and you could tell them the scarcity of Bitcoin is very similar in real life (with its hard cap supply at 21m BTC) to that of those drops within the game.

Some background:

In Runescape you had a really simple economic system. Players could collect in game money and items by killing creatures and collecting quests, within the game people could trade with each other basically exchanging goods for coins or for other goods (like in the real world). However, within the game there was high inflation because both coins (Runescape money) and (valuable) items where randomly dropped by dying creatures, so as a result there was a constant new supply of all of those items within the game making the items and money less scarce continuously diluting their value. The longer the game existed the more the monetary system within the game evolved and the more detailed the pricing between all the various in game products became. Most of the pricing was based on how useful the product was (according to the product stats) and the rarity of the product (determined by the drop rate and how difficult it was to kill the creatures that dropped the product). The only products in the game however that were not on a regular basis dropped by creatures were those Holiday drops. These items were randomly dropped once by Jagex and as a result over the years became rare items. Despite the fact that these items were completely useless, they became the most valuable items within the game as they were the only items with no new supply and therefore the most hard asset within the game.

Anyone that ever played the old version of Runescape back in time will know what happened to the value of those holiday drops and as a result, will understand the concept of scarcity and store of value.

For example look at “partyhats” (see explanation in the below pictures), In the 10 years that I played the game (2001-2011) the value of these useless things increased from nothing to over 2 billion Runescape money, just because its scarcity (it was dropped in 2001 and never newly created thereafter), similar for the other above mentioned one time holiday drops. Actually the most valuable item became the un-popped Christmas cracker what produced the party hats. A completely useless item except as store of value, all you could do with it was keep it in the bank or trade it to someone else, you could not even wear it or show off your wealth as you could with the other items. Another similarity between those items and Bitcoin was the impact of Decay; Both for Bitcoin and these holiday drops, the total number is/was decaying over time as for Bitcoin there are people that store there private keys which might get lost and for these holiday items in Runescape people who owned them either quit or had their accounts banned over time diluting the total remaining number in existence.

I think for anyone that every played this game this can convince them of Bitcoins scarcity and very easily explain why bitcoin has a decent chance to be worth much more in the future (millions and millions of people from my generation have played this game). Bitcoin r/Bitcoin, is the only form of commodity/money that has a hard cap supply and therefore will become the most scarce store of value in history of humanity. As a result, there is a significant probability that Bitcoin, especially once coming closer to the maximum number of coins mined (already at 18m/21m), will show similar price movements as to how the holiday drops prices within Runescape have moved over the years.

Party hats explained:

"Partyhats are obtained by opening Christmas crackers, dropped during the 2001 Christmas event. There are six different coloured partyhats, all with the same shape and size (red, yellow, green, blue, purple, and white). When worn by a player they resemble a crown. Because they are discontinued, they are very rare, much sought after and worth billions of coins, although they don't offer any stat bonuses. These are currently the most valuable objects in RuneScape. Partyhats are used to hold large sums of cash, because the gold coin limit is 2.147B and these hats are gaining wealth over time. Due to their rarity, these items hold a much higher Street value than their value on the Grand Exchange. In Runescape Classic, the price of partyhats was drastically changed after players abused a glitch by creating many partyhats (see Partyhat duplication glitch for more info.) Due to their high price, they have become recognised as a symbol of wealth in the game by players and non-player characters alike.

Over time, the volume of partyhats has been diminishing. The much smaller number of players when partyhats were released meant that not as many were acquired when available. Also, at the time of the release, partyhats were virtually worthless, meaning many players discarded them immediately. The majority of the few players who held onto them eventually quit RuneScape or were banned, leaving the number of active players with partyhats at a very, very low number.

Surprisingly, partyhats do play a pivotal role in the RuneScape economy. Players will use these items as investments, cash placements, staked items, and collectables. They are used as cash holders for players because of the stability of the item. Majority of partyhats are traded in world 2 around the grand exchange, but collectibles players wishing to buy or sell a partyhat may either have to advertise on the RuneScape forums, leave it in the Grand Exchange, or trade at much lower/higher prices to accommodate the few players that are willing to trade partyhats."

Hope This helped some of you guys explaining Bitcoins scarcity element to your buddies.

Hello dear friends.

I am a writer from Russia. My name is Alexander. Forgive me for my English, I translate the text through google translate, because I do not know English.

We all know the 2013 post about the Citadel and Bitcoin for $ 1,000,000

Link to the same post.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1lfobc/i_am_a_timetraveler_from_the_future_here_to_beg/

I am writing a work of art on this post, work on the text is being completed, we need to raise money for the publication of the book.

After the release of the book, translation of the work into English by professional translators will be done so that you, my English-speaking friends, can read this wonderful work.

I launched a crowdfunding project. I chose the site Boomstarter (Russian analogue of Kickstartet)

Link to the project. The site can be translated into English.

https://boomstarter.ru/projects/958063/kniga-antiutopiya_kripto_mir

Briefly about the plot of the book (Once again I apologize, the translation is not professional):

The work takes us to the future, which, in the first person, is narrated by the main character. About a world where greed and greed prevailed over moral principles. An attempt to make humanity financially independent by creating a cryptocurrency led to even more depressing consequences. In the places of mining centers that mine Bitcoin, Citadels appeared, cities that drain the land. The uneven distribution of Bitcoin has led to total poverty. The division into social classes has reached its climax. Statehood has gone into oblivion, along with traditional money, which in today's world has become simple waste paper. The world is now ruled by oligarchs, who apart from their own enrichment do not care about anything. The planet is suffering an environmental disaster. Mining centers that generate too much heat have led to global warming. The dustiness and overgrowing of deserts has led to drought in many regions. The main events of the book take place in the USA, California.

A secret society that wants to question the very existence of cryptocurrency so that the citadels become obsolete and stop poisoning the planet, inclines the protagonist to their side. From this moment on, his own, inner world changes dramatically. Many secrets to solve. Conspiracies and intrigues weaving around the hero like snakes. Pass hundreds of tests and stay alive, bring the matter to the end and determine where the truth is, and where are false ideals and beliefs. What will be the result of the struggle for peace, which is in the balance of death, we have yet to find out.

This book should go out into the world. People need to know our story. What an unknown person talked about in a post in 2013 needs to be developed and shown to the world what the future with Bitcoin can be.

Support the author, tell your friends about my work.

Upon request, I can send an excerpt from the work in Russian.

Ask questions, I will be glad to answer.

BTC — BTC has continued to maintain range volatility since yesterday and is still hovering around $9200. In the past 24 hours, the net outflow of BTC capital has exceeded US $30 million, and the outflow of market capital has decreased significantly compared with the previous period. Yesterday, BTC fluctuated a lot. In the afternoon, it pretended to fall below the $9000 level and quickly rebounded to the highest around $9467. Then it rebounded slightly after stepping back on the $9000 support twice in the morning. At present, the short-term market is still in the stage of interval fluctuation, and frequent operation here may be more difficult. It is recommended to take the medium and long-term line as the investment target. The upper resistance level is close to $9600, while the lower resistance level is close to $9000. In terms of operation, it is suggested to control the position for the time being. The risk of further write back cannot be excluded here.
