I recently wrote a guide for getting electrum-personal-server running on a FreeNAS jail here. However I can not for the life of me get electrum-personal-server to start on a rc.d startup script.
Executing the following at the command line works just fine:
daemon /root/.local/bin/electrum-personal-server /root/eps-v0.1.6/config.cfg
However after writing a basic startup script and enabling in /etc/rc.conf, I get the following error:

First of all, a big thanks to all who helped. Thanks to the tip of one particular Redditor, I was finally able to get a call back today from the credit card company.
With that in mind, let me state that I have and have always have excellent credit. I did a score lookup just a few minutes ago and I am in the 800+.
So in any event, I am afraid I do not have good news. In fact, I need your help more than ever.
Here's what I was able to learn.
The company that billed me $1,900 is a cryptocurrency exchange. That is, you can buy and sell bitcoins, ether, and others. In the past, I have used this credit card to buy cryptos because my main credit card (BMO) is blocked, aka won't be accepted to buy cryptos. However, I have NEVER used this particular, eastern european cryptoexchange. In fact, before, today, I had never heard of it.
With that in mind, it appears someone used my credit card to buy $1,900 in bitcoins, then immediately withdrew the bitcoins to his private wallet. Since I have bought bitcoins in the past, the credit card company assumed I was trying to pull a "fast one."
The supervisor also fax me the contestation file from the merchant, and the merchant has a copy of my driving license. This isn't particularly shocking because I have sent a copy of my driving license to dozens of crypto websites. You need to submit ID to buy bitcoins at most places. I've sent this exact copy of my driving license to at least 7-10 crypto websites, back when I was hugely into bitcoins.
I have no idea how this person was able to accept my driving license. I do know that I (stupidly) used my personal e-mail to send my driving license to some of those websites. And that it was my own (duh!) "sent" folder. And that, well, yeah, I reuse passwords. Won't lie there.
I also read what the merchant wrote and it might as well have been total nonsense. "Mr. XXX opened an account with us and promptly bought Y bitcoins. He then withdrew his bitcoins to his private wallet. We think this transaction is legitimate and" and there the merchant included a link to the blockchain, showing relevant bitcoins being sent to someone.
What I DO know is that I never used that website and never purchased those bitcoins, nor do I have them. I have talked to a colleague who specialize in that field and he told me my credit file is far more valuable, way WORTH more than $1,900. He told me to simply pay it, close my card and move on.
Suing is also unlikely because they are in another province. Even if you get nothing from this, understand that you are far less protected against unauthorized transactions than you might think.
So there I go, I ask your help again. It feels really wrong being cheated like that and I really, out of principle, do not want to repay this amount. It just doesn't feel right.

“If You Build It, They Will Come”: An Open Letter to the Artifact Community
Ah, a classic test of narcissism: who is the “you” in that statement? Is it Valve? They built a game. It seems good to great to me. Artifact is certainly a better value than most of games I’ve paid $20 for in my Steam library. Still, the game is lacking features the player base sorely wants and subsequently has suffered a precipitous drop in user base. A lack of meaningful ranking system hamstrings those seeking to be Artifact professionals and turns away even casuals who just want to see how they compare.
Now, consider: is the “you”, well, you? Don’t we as a community have some role in establishing a competitive scene or ranking system? Dota and Counter-Strike are legendary in the esports scene. I played CS and DoD when they were still just HL2 mods. The competitive scene did not just get handed to us. Ranked mode wasn't even a concept that existed inside video games beyond arcade leaderboards. It took people like Clinton “Fear” Loomis, grinding away at some shitty desk for years, knowing that one day Dota was going to be a thing. It took people like Jarosław "pashaBiceps" Jarząbkowski giving up “regular” work, believing he could support his family by one day competing in Counter-Strike.
These kinds of people are out there in Artifact, grinding away right now. Players were putting themselves out there on Twitch on Christmas Day because they love the game and can’t get enough. I know. I’ve seen them, even talked to some of them. There are great players and personalities out there who want to compete at this game of cards we all find so irresistible. Yet, when they open the game client to do so, all they can really do is compete at how many hours they have grinded through the skill rating system, if it can be called a system. The social tab is painfully empty. It feels like a giant competition with players from all over the world and a giant venue but the organizers did not spend any time or money organizing the actual event.
We, you, need to build the community if we want to see our own great esports events and competitive scene. Liquid can’t do it if no one else is trying to do it too. We all need to get shaking and moving together if we want a deep community to thrive and be an exciting scene. Otherwise I suspect the few Artifact interest groups that exist right now will wither away while we wait for Valve to “fix” a game that is fundamentally sound.
If you are an aspiring pro, keep on playing, the work will show.
If you are a Twitch viewer/donator, consider visiting medium or small Artifact-focused streams.
If you love the game, ignore the haters. It is a brand new year, carpe diem!

I've seen this in so many communities that are centralized/authoritarian. Reddit, and other similar spaces where control of everything rests with some sort of owner or royalty types, creates this sort of forced ignorance regularly:
There was a Socratic philosophy community where the "mods" admitted that they would happily ban Soctrates himself if he were to post the sort of stuff Socrates was reported to have typically said (challenging others to think for themselves, and pushing them to admit their own ignorance).
There's the Bitcoin community that says that decentralized governments/communities don't work, and that control has to be used to keep things a certain way. They'd probably ban Satoshi if he/she/they ever showed up.
There're the many, many "science" communities which actively reject peer review, and censor diverse ideas, information, and critique, and instead only promote their own beliefs about who is allowed to speak, as if they were some kind of Christian Science type of religion-with-a-hipster-name. They make almost all actual scientists who aren't corporate puppets (or shills) feel unwelcome.
And there is the Futurology community that fears deep philosophical discussion, playful, creative, and innovative theories of science and culture and evolution, and mostly just promotes a small handful of the "mods'" personal politics about current events, and very short term corporate tech inventions, and which, of course, thinks that centralized/authoritarian control is the only option, and that violence against the community is necessary to maintain their control. Us actual futurologists are regularly downvoted, censored, or, in the case of the Discord, actually banned.
And there are the sci-fi communities that snarkily use the tactics of the "bad guys" from the universe they are fans of to take control of the community, and seem to honestly believe that they are the "good guys". Those of us who model ourselves after the "good guys" are censored, banned, and otherwise made unwelcome.
It's pretty impressive. And took me by surprise, almost every time I discovered it in each individual community.
