Tax implications of Mt. Gox bankruptcy payout - stolen crypto from 2014

In 2024 I received a lump sum distribution from the Mt. Gox bankruptcy proceedings for Bitcoin that was stolen when the exchange collapsed in 2014. I then sold some but not all of this later in 2024. I'm confused about how to properly report this on my Canadian tax return. Is receiving the payout a taxable capital gains event and I report the entire amount? Or should I just report the amount that I've sold as capital gains since receiving it?

2. Website: Updated our v3 website and cleaned up some ui, added donation scrolling text, our animations, added our merch shop on the mainpage
3. Video Game: Buds vs Fuds(Tower defense style game) - Will be ready by next Wednesday
4. Nft v2: Collection/art is done, If you're looking for teasers join our community the team already has custom pfps and some of our topbuds do as well We're building the mint pad now, still primarily waiting for the best market conditions.
5. Charity Impact Event: We plan on holding a large scale adoption event with base, coinbase, miggles and dogepound at around August.
6. Onchain Summit: The team will be attending Onchain Summit in August, if you want to meet the team feel free to attend!
