Long time lurker, first time poster and understand that I will get scolded by some of you. Either way, from a series of unfortunate events, I happen to come across a little bit of cash so I decided to buy and hodl at least two BTC. Coinbase only allowed me to purchase $1000 a day and has a 20 day holding period before I could transfer into my wallet (I've read a few horror stories about people losing their BTC letting them sit in exchanges so I wanted it transferred immediately) and I didn't research as to how I could initiate a wire transfer. Filled with excitement, l looked for the closest BTC ATMs near me and just made my first deposit of $5000 at a Bitcoin Depot ATM with doing very little research regarding the fees associated with using a BTC ATM. Their exchange rate had a BTC priced at $7,629. I just gave away $1,300 from my impulse. Rant over. Let me hear it!

I have a decent circle of friends, who use Instagram and Discord to talk. They also use Snapchat but I've hated that app ever since I first heard of it. Of course, Instagram and Discord are no better, but I gotta talk to my friends somehow.
Discord is much less of a privacy violation than Instagram, and as such I use it more to talk. I don't post on my Instagram account, have left it to private, and my username and information are all fake. All I do on Instagram is just tell my friends to get on Discord or Wire (only 7/10 of my friends use Wire atm. In the process of switching them all towards it. It's actually a plus, since it's not blocked by my school board.) since their notifications are on for Instagram but not Discord or Wire. I delete my Instagram account every month and make a new one to reduce data collected.
On Discord, my username is the first 3 letters of my first name. Everything else is fake information. I've disabled as much of the telemetry and tracking as possible and switch Discord accounts every 6 months.
I don't use anything Google-based, whatsoever, except for my school-given GAFE account because we're forced to use that. The name on that account is my full name, and my address, phone number, and other PII are in that account's data as well. I am considering sending a letter to my school board trying to get opted out from GAFE. It's worked for one kid, and only one kid, out of the 700,000 kids in my board.

What is Purple?
Purple is an experimental blockchain protocol that started out as a research project for solving the scalability problem in public blockchain systems. It's purpose is to achieve the following:
* Provide the foundation of a decentralized multi-asset ecosystem.
* Achieve the highest scalability level possible on a public blockchain protocol.
* Be easy to use and to understand for both technical and non-technical persons.
What consensus algorithm does Purple use?
Purple uses a completely new algorithm called Semi-Synchronous Proof of Work (SSPoW) for achieving consensus. It is a variation of the original Proof of Work system that Satoshi Nakamoto invented and is based upon decades of research in distributed systems. It is designed to remove the transaction throughput bottleneck which blockchain systems currently have, the result being a much faster and scalable system which can in theory support mass usage.
Built for long term use
In Purple, multiple currencies/assets are handled at the protocol level. This means transaction and smart contract fees can be paid in any listed currency if the miners accept it. This in turn, means that even if the main currency of the protocol dies, or is otherwise lost, the protocol can still function because users can send transaction with fees paid in any currency.
Native security tokens
Another big feature of the protocol is it's native support for security tokens. They are closely tied to Shareholder Controlled Accounts. These are accounts that require the signature of the majority of owners of the respective account in order to approve a transaction. A shareholder is then another account which owns a percentage of it's issued shares. These shares are very similar in behavior to other currencies listed in the ledger, i.e. they can be transferred, with the exception being that you cannot pay transaction fees using them. Shareholders can also extract dividends from their owned accounts by issuing a special transaction.
Decentralized exchange
Another result of native multi-asset support is that a decentralized exchange between all listed currencies can exist at the protocol layer. This provides a safe and reliant infrastructure for users wishing to own multiple assets. Any native token or security that is listed on the ledger will, by default, be able to be bought and sold on the decentralized exchange.
Mining
The coin distribution will be done via mining. From a miner's standpoint, it can be said that mining on the Purple network feels quite similar to mining on other, classic cryptocurrency networks. But this is only on the surface level, the mining process in Purple is actually completely different from any other protocol. In Bitcoin, miners approve transactions by providing a valid Proof of Work and by choosing a number of pending transactions to be written in the ledger. While this works, it also means that the main bottleneck is the Proof of Work algorithm. In Purple, miners who provide a valid Proof of Work are eligible to approve transactions in a designated period. During that period they broadcast network events that include the transactions that they wish to approve. After the period has ended they will be required to issue a leave event which transfers all of the fees of the transactions to the address chosen by the miner. If a miner crashes or behaves maliciously during it's designated period, it will be removed by the other participants and will lose all of it's collected fees.
Virtual machine
Purple supports the execution of Turing Complete smart contracts. For this, a new Virtual Machine is being designed which will serve as a compilation target for many widespread programming languages. The aim is to enable developers to write smart contract software in familiar and well known programming languages.

How did this start out?
Purple was "officially" founded by software engineer Octavian Oncescu on the 1st of March 2018 but it's inception begins in December 2017 when research began on the subject of scalability on public blockchain systems.

이그드라시 팀 입니다.
1차 YEED 에어드랍의 2회차 물량 지급이 비트코인 가격 6,000USD 선 회복 때까지 연기 되었던 바 있습니다. 그리고 5월 9일을 기점으로 비트코인의 가격은 드디어 6,000 USD 벽을 깼습니다.
비트코인 가격 상승이 가져온 장 분위기의 전환은 반가운 일이지만, YEED의 가치 대비 가격이 많이 하락한 현 상황에서 에어드랍 진행의 득에 대하여 많은 고민과 회의를 했습니다.
여러분과의 약속을 이행하기 위해 에어드랍을 바로 진행할 수도 있지만 이는 이그드라시를 믿고 기다려 주시는 많은 분들에게 오히려 피해가 될 수 있는 행동이라는 판단했습니다.
따라서 모두에게 이로울 수 있도록 준비된 2, 3회차 에어드랍 물량 100,000,000 YEED를 모두 소각 하기로 결정하였으며, 소각 예정 시기는 5월 16일 목요일로 예정하고 있습니다.

[Announcement] YEED Token Burn(Replacement of Airdrop)
Hello,
Greetings from Team YGGDRASH.
Last time, the Team and the community had decided to postpone the 2nd and 3rd portion of the FIRST YEED Airdrop event until BTC 6,000 USD recovery, and as of May 9th, Bitcoin finally broke the 6,000 USD level.
We are all glad to witness the different market atmosphere from the rise of Bitcoin price. Nevertheless, the Team had to go through a series of meetings and discussions in regards to the pros and cons of commencing an airdrop when the price of YEED is lower compared to its true value.
The Team could have executed the airdrop and simply kept the promise; however, the Team strongly believe that doing so would eventually be a self-destructive act at this point to all YGGDRASHers.
On this ground, the Team has decided to burn the entire amount of the prepared 2nd and 3rd portion of the FIRST YEED Airdrop which equates to 100,000,000 YEED, and this will take its place on May 16th.
We sincerely thank all YGGDRASHers in advance for understanding and trusting our decision.

Introduction to REC
In the whole history of our vast world, there's been various technological advances that really improve the quality of life of all the people as well as the planet itself. There's two uprising technologies that by themselves really revolutionize their area of expertise by being incredible useful, innovative and a with a massive potential to grow even further.
The first of those technologies is solar energy. Using the resources that our planet gives us is not only better for the environment, but is also more efficient and nowadays it is becoming the preferred energy method in many countries. China is the country that leads this solar revolution, because it already monopolizes half of the new solar plants that are installed on our planet, according to this report of the Environment Program of the UN. But, closely, they are followed by three other nations: Australia, Sweden and Mexico, whose investment in this field has recently doubled and continues to increase as time goes on. Just on 2017, the world has invested more money in solar energy than in nuclear power plants, gas and coal plants, according to a United Nations report. This revolution is real, is already here and it's the next logical step to the energy field of our world.

The other technology is one that neither smartphones, social networks, virtual reality, and nor autonomous cars can compare to. The most important technology that has emerged in the last century is the chain of blocks or blockchain. The European Central Bank maintains in a recent report that this invention "could lead an imminent revolution". And some experts believe that its impact will be similar to that of the internet. The blockchain is the technology behind bitcoin cryptocurrency. A cryptocurrency is a digital currency that uses encryption as a security and anti-counterfeiting system. The bitcoin stands as the best known and most common crypto, since it was the first of its kind that can operate without banks or a central authority, and without revealing data about the identity of those who carry out transactions. Its operation is based on blockchain technology: a shared database, decentralized and secure. Shared and decentralized because there are copies of that database in millions of computers in the world; safe because those copies are cryptographically protected: they can not be attacked, banned or deleted. And if there is a discrepancy in the registers, a consensus mechanism acts as the central authority and allows to detect which is the correct one. The crypto world is vast and we're basically in the initial stages of it.

Now that we've talked about the solar energy and blockchain technologies as individuals, it's time to take things even further beyond. What if those two technologies were to be combined? It would be an amazing accomplishment and completely revolutionize both the energy field and the blockchain world.
