Social Media Giants Moving from Highly Centralized Systems to Decentralized Models Based on Blockchain

Social media giants, Facebook and Twitter, are now moving towards a decentralized model that is based on the blockchain technology. For many years, the platforms have been founded on a heavily centralized system where these social media companies keep, process, and mine data of their individual users for various reasons including sustained operations, digital community sharing, identity management and verification, and advertisements.
However, recently, Mark Zuckerberg published a Facebook Note where he surprisingly disclosed the possible future for Facebook. According to him,
"I understand that many people don't think Facebook can or would even want to build this kind of privacy-focused platform -- because frankly we don't currently have a strong reputation for building privacy protective services, and we've historically focused on tools for more open sharing. But we've repeatedly shown that we can evolve to build the services that people really want, including in private messaging and stories.
I believe the future of communication will increasingly shift to private, encrypted services where people can be confident what they say to each other stays secure and their messages and content won't stick around forever. This is the future I hope we will help bring about."
Jack Dorsey, on the other, has almost always been vocal about his fondness for bitcoin. In a 2018 blockchain conference, he said,
"I'm just approaching with the principle that the Internet deserves a native currency. It will have a native currency. I don't know if it will be Bitcoin.. I hope it will be bitcoin. I'm a huge fan."
Dorsey is also among the primary investors for Lightning Labs, the developer of Lightning Network which is a decentralized network that is powered by smart contract functionalities and which allows instant, speedy, and inexpensive payments. Just recently, he made an announcement through Twitter that his financial services company, Square, is gearing towards cryptocurrency adoption. His tweet goes this way:

This sudden turn of events may be due to the increasing challenges that are faced by these companies when it comes to the acceptability and legitimacy of the way they handle and use data. As Michael Casey of CoinDesk characterizes this phenomenon, "a backlash is emerging against "surveillance capitalism" and against the broad strategy of mining users' data to capture audience for advertisers and to shape consumer behavior."
If these social media companies successfully roll out decentralized systems for virtual interactions and social communications, would we expect to have have better and more secure digital experiences?

Cold wallet usually means that the network cannot access your stored private key. Location, it is a non-networked wallet, also known as an offline wallet. The cold wallet relies on “cold”, hardware equipment to ensure the security of the digital currency private key. In the case of non-networking, through the computer, mobile phone, small books with private key addresses. From their perspective, homo sapiens has learned far more than any documented previous life on Earth. Unfortunately, it is held back by its primal roots in evolution, which it hasn't yet been able to shed. If you've been wondering why alien life forms have not tried to make contact yet, this is the reason. Higher life forms would never consider contacting a semi-intelligent species, until they prove capable of the higher intelligence which ensures that they will be sticking around more than a few hundred or thousand years. The majority of what we today call homo sapiens has probably not evolved into homo superior yet and (unfortunately) will not spontaneously evolve superpowers (besides higher intelligence capacity). The only way that homo superior can possibly take the reigns is through a cataclysmic event that wipes out most of the human population. (Un)fortunately, the probability that this will happen constantly increases, especially given the prevalence of barbaric Sap drama. Even more worrisome is the possibility of stepping back evolutionarily when it does happen.
The title of this article is slightly misleading, because if you've read this far, you're probably not a Sap, but I don't believe that we currently have any known adequate test to differentiate between the two species since the difference is so subtle and dependent on environmental factors. The general trend for humanity is also to corral all humans into general education programs that are getting dumber by the day, and in general to halt any evolutionary progress on the general population. Is this offensive to "inferior gene" people? No, I'm simply stating the fact that certain genes are superior in certain environments. No other terrestrial genes besides ones that promote higher intelligence will propel any lifeform to become interplanetary and be able to survive a mass extinction event. In an environment where you are destined to succumb to any number of planetary mass-extinction events, it is a guarantee that you or your genes and offspring will mostly end at some point, unless you figure out how to planet-hop. Which means that the alien life forms that are observing our planet (if they are) don't care that we have quantum computers because we can lose that knowledge in a flash. What they are waiting for, is to see a self-sustaining interplanetary species, or a gravitational wave consistent with a successful test of an Alcubierre drive (a "Zephram Cochrane" moment, if you will) which guarantees that life originating from this planet will be around far longer than a cosmic "blink of an eye" and is a force to be reckoned with (hopefully with a friendly welcome).
So, unfortunately, it doesn't matter whether you're a Sap, or a Sup. Until Elon can accomplish his goals, the rest of us will probably die enslaved to the fiat ponzi schemes of our tax dollars, paying for barbaric wars and other wastefulness that only makes the rich Saps richer, oblivious to any proof of alien life forms that are avoiding us like the plague. The importance of the Crypto aha moment
I started 2014 with Cryptos but more as a bystander and observer. It was 2016 when I started working fulltime in this industry. As many of us, I suffer every time something happens: a maximalist throws up with some stupid arguments, the press pretends to find the 1228th negative point to Bitcoin, a professor or politician saying: “it will never happen”, a friend smiling and telling you “you are wasting your time”, or your son (who is a millennial) having moved from an advocate to a i-don’t-care person. And we then gather together around the influencers that tell us: it is going to be great.
Most of my time I have to deal with serious business people or high-ranking politicians and one of the big problems I see: people don’t understand cryptos. Even if you explain to them how things work and what it is all about, they don’t get it. In my environment there is nobody that shows even the slightest interest although everybody is of the opinion that this is the future. I can try to explain from any angle (investment: boom will come, or it is about the technology) and they all smile back at me and continue in their own world. I can explain it many times, I can guide them through the process. Nothing. A week later they are back to square one.
So why is that so difficult?
If this is the future, why is it so difficult to engage them? I now believe it has to do with an aha moment. I had a few moments of joy, but only one aha-moment. For example, the first metamask transaction, the first transfer to an exchange, the first fight with an exchange, the running of an Ethereum node, … My first aha moment was, when I took a Maker loan. It was simple and within minutes I received the DAI tokens. That was impressive as getting a loan through a bank is a painful experience (recently I applied for one: they needed access to my credit rating, tax returns, plans, I had to fill out several forms, …). With Maker: no questions asked and within minutes. That impressed me.

Janez Kranjc, Ph.D., CTO of CargoX, has been invited to talk about smart contracts at the premium new technology conference in the Adriatic region, organized by the REAL Security firm and Bitcoin association Slovenia.
Close to 100 participants attended the event, which took place parallel to the largest security conference in the region, the RISK 2019, where 500 more participants were able to listen to the Blockchain Day lectures. Guests arrived from more than 20 countries, mainly from the Adriatic region, with some from Israel and the USA. Enthusiasts, evangelists, and experts from IT, engineering, software development, and sales were all in attendance, along with advisors and executives.

I charge a fixed fee for each project.
My general fee is far lower than a senior developer with my experience level in the US Bay Area, but also don't expect my fee is as low as a middle level developer from other low end freelancer sites.
Approximate fee for typical projects, in USD
- Trivial - small projects: 3-4 figures
- Small - medium projects: 4-5 figures
- Medium - Large projects: 5 figures and more
The fee varies depending on the project type and the technology, and negotiable.
