Hey Whats Up Redditors of R4R,

Im 22 year old dude who loves to improve. I am somewhat of a nervous person but i am social if my nerves dont kick in (it really sucks in new group setting but im trying) Im trying to break out of my social inclusion / bubble.

i like to exercise: just bought a boxing bag and im studying the crap out of technique and hitting the bag a few times a week (recommend me things if you can), some weightlifting (squats bench deadlifts)

cooking! cast iron skillets are pretty sick. i love watching food travel videos and trying out random recipes. i like to think im ok in the kitchen. (send me some mukbangers or recipe channels!)

photography! ive been pretty mia on social media my whole life but i want to get back into it and break out of my bubble. i own a dslr and am no stranger to photoshop. ive done a good amount of shoots for friends. lets learn together!

finance is my work so id love to chat about any events going on in the world. even bitcoin and cannbis stocks haha. (eventually down the line id like to learn programming and MAYBE enter algos - if this is even possible for an undergrad with zero experience in programming)

Regarding CFTC Commissioner Brian Quintenz's remarks on smart contract regulations...

Want to regulate smart contracts? Good luck. If it seems like policymakers are flummoxed by the rise of cryptocurrencies, wait until they get to smart contracts. Just ask Brian Quintenz, commissioner for the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission. At a conference in Dubai this week, Quintenz expressed a sense of awe at the vast unknown that blockchain-based computer programs have created for his agency.

The CFTC oversees commodity futures and swaps markets. Since 2015, when the agency designated Bitcoin a commodity, its purview has included markets for cryptocurrency derivatives. Quintenz gave a specific example of a smart contract that falls within the agency’s jurisdiction: a prediction market that lets users bet on the future price of a commodity. The CTFC sees that as a kind of derivative called a binary option, and before a binary option can be listed it must be registered with the CFTC, he said. That seemed like a clear reference to markets that have already appeared on Augur, the Ethereum-based platform that allows users to set up markets for betting on the outcome of future events. (see “This new blockchain-based betting platform could cause Napster-size legal headaches”)

In the past, the CFTC has been able to build its regulatory structure around market intermediaries that must register with it. That won’t work in the world of decentralized blockchain networks, Quintenz said. “How can our regulatory apparatus, built to register and oversee intermediaries, adequately police our markets and set standards for a disintermediated market?”

Who should be held accountable for an unregistered binary option, for example? In some cases it might be appropriate to prosecute those who developed the smart contract code, Quintenz said. He dismissed the argument that the developers aren’t liable since they have no control over what users do with the protocol they created—which is how Augur’s creators have responded to questions about the potential of illegal activity on their platform. But prosecuting the code’s developers won’t get rid of the code, which runs on a blockchain network. So what should the CFTC do if users keep listing illegal contracts?

Quintenz concluded his speech on smart contracts with a Carl Sagan quote that he said he finds poignant: “[W]e live in a society dependent on science and technology, in which hardly anyone knows anything about science and technology.” You can say that again, Commissioner.

PayFair: Decentralized Escrow Service for everyone

PayFair is a new decentralized escrow platform and a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency exchange for buying popular cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash as well as many other coins. The platform delivers security for cryptocurrency transactions between those who do not know each other. The platform charges low fees and uses it’s own PayFair tokens (PFR) as a key part of the ecosystem.

As a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency exchange, PayFair makes it possible to make a transaction to buy or sell a cryptocurrency of your choice without having to worry about a middleman slowing down the process or taking a cut from the transaction. Additionally, PayFair provides an escrow service so users can complete a transaction with confidence, even if they have never met or talked to the other person involved before, as most transactions on PayFair occur between strangers. Payfair claims transactions on its platform can be processed 5 times faster than traditional smart contracts.

How Does It Work?

PayFair has a self-regulating system that allows it to function. This system includes independent Trust nodes and Escrow nodes. Trust nodes perform the function of a traditional escrow. They are owners of the PFR token, which sits at the heart of the ecosystem. The PFR token ensures trades on the platform are insured using PFR tokens at stake. PayFair collects a small fee to keep it running and also distributes a percentage of this fee to the Trust nodes every month. In this way, holders of PFR earn a profit by holding tokens. The Escrow nodes replace miners in the PFR ecosystem. They run the network and record transactions in the ledger.

Whereas in the payfair system, escrow only releases funds if both parties are happy. In the event that both parties to a transaction aren't satisfied, there is a dispute resolution process.

Key Features

  1. Decentralization is ensured by blockchain technology. Trust nodes and escrow nodes are rewarded.

  2. Each trade, which uses escrow is ensured by PFR tokens. Escrow-node is responsible for each trade, which he or she participated

  3. Counterparties make a safe trade due to independent escrow nodes. Fees are significantly lower comparing to traditional escrow services. Using cryptocurrencies makes trades safer and more anonymous.

  4. Automatization of the system to the most possible degree and distribution of fees between the nodes. Open-source code.

Payfair Token (PFR)

The PayFair token (PFR) is an ERC-20 token that uses the Ethereum blockchain as its basis. The PFR tokens are an essential component of the entire platform ecosystem. The PFR tokens are used to create trust nodes and safe environment during the transactions.

Payfair is the cryptocurrency version of Paypal minus the exorbitant fees. PayFair wants to become an escrow platform to act as a guarantor in cryptocurrency transactions. There are not yet, official big platforms of that kind that use their own tokens to for the security of transaction, however there are many checked and secure individual escrows that successfully do their jobs. Such platform can of course improve the process, providing they succeed in delivering a proper and quality service. They want to provide low fees for all transactions in a safe, private and decentralized environment. The PFR tokens are used to create trust nodes and safe environment during the transactions. The team has enough members to properly develop the platform, all having at least few years of experience. Here we can view this subreddits growth..... (albeit a bit lagged since apparently some features on reddit suck balls, cough cough search)

Basically, I would like to highlight one or two things..... Id like to put emphasis on the surprisingly low key nature this has taken on... Ive spoken to countless "canaries" or people w.e. out in everyday world.... None of em have a clue whats happening to the north. Besides a handful of segments only this past week, there has been hardly any coverage or exposure to this event..... It is literally all this past week.

I look at the general sentiment among not just weedstockers, but among other investment/trader communities..... many here on reddit, and you can look at any subreddits subscriber base from /r/Stocks to /r/wallstreetbets all the way to /r/investing and heck, ill even lump in the dreaded ohhh no, not the crypto.... yeah /r/bitcoin and /r/bitcoinmarkets.....

All in all, we are tiny over here at /r/weedstocks.... Its revolutionary and ground breaking and world changing, but its as if most of the laymen are in disbelief its actually happening. There are a great many people still ignorant to the whatever, green rush.....

Soooo, I am of the belief, this has significant amount of room to run..... I know that the future is going to hold nothing but earning reports from actual sales, which is just fucking gonna be awesome in and of its self.... but also, I know there is an array of news releases and mna's and all sorts of development and growth in the sector... I know there will be many a heavy set of eyes as the entire nation watches during the quickly approaching elections... For all we know as he US parties try and secure respective victories, we could see them rally behind the marijuana movement, hell, its one quick way to garner young votes, i mean votes in general. Its 2018, which ever side aligns with weed in the next election is going win..

Sooooo monitor the general sentiment... whats in the air.... whats on the charts.... whats making ath's.... watch the trends.... watch the subscriber growth.....

Watch these things more than you watch your positions or your trades or your balance.... Don't get off the shuttle early... this is just the airstream that drives us out to the launch pad..... rocket isnt even warmed up...

We got a ways to go losers... hang on tight!

Dr. Philip Glukhovsky - Health Informatics Manager

In 1997, Dr. Philip glukhovsky graduated with honors from the university of California at berkeley with a degree in molecular and cell biology with an emphasis in genetics. After graduation, he worked for 6 years at Rheumatology Diagnostics Laboratory, a leading specialty laboratory in Los Angeles, CA, heading up their genotyping division. While at RDL, Dr. glukhovsky participated in multiple studies in genetic testing and pharmaceutical testing.

Dr. glukhovsky has been involved in the development of important genetic testing for HIv and Hepatitis and multiple other diseases. In 2003, Dr. glukhovsky left RDL to attend Cleveland Chiropractic College. He graduated in 2006 with high honors, as the valedictorian of his class.

Roger Williams - VP Marketing

Roger began his career in medical Sales in 1980 in Southern California. He sold orthopedic implants for Swiss and American orthopedic implant companies and was a pioneer in introducing many new products to the u.S. market. He sold hip and knee replacement to domestic and international companies, and entered the field of spinal implants in the 1990s.

Roger began selling biologics for the spine and orthopedics in the late 1990s, which were used primarily to augment bone growth. In 2010, Roger began working with stem cell companies and then cord blood stem cells. He now focuses his professional career on the sale and application of these innovative products.
