The community behind Bitcoin is unyielding. It is resilient. It only gets stronger when Bitcoin gets called a fraud. Bitcoin relies on this community to report on it factually, and to inform and educate the world on its developments, its issues, its wins and its losses. Bitcoin education and communication is arguably one of the most important aspects of Bitcoin and its growth.
How Does Bitcoin News Get Shared?
Because there is no company behind Bitcoin, there is no public relations or media department. Any news relating to Bitcoin generally comes from events, developments or issues relating to one of its many, many stakeholders. The sharing of news relating to Bitcoin generally comes from industry specific media outlets, and now even mainstream outlets like CNBC.
Because of the distributed nature and its architecture design, Bitcoin has political, economical, technological, societal, and even psychological aspects to it. These aspects see stakeholders interacting with the system in some way. Some of these stakeholders are;

• Investors
• Users
• Politicians
• Merchants
• Banks
• Businesses
• Developers
As you can see, there are a lot of stakeholders that interact with the Bitcoin network in some way. Because of this, Bitcoin is easy to talk and report about. There is always something happening that can be shared with the world.
Does Bitcoin News Affect Prices?
The short answer, yes. Bitcoin news does affect price, but the extent to which really depends on the market at the time its shared.
In a nutshell, when the Bitcoin and cryptocurrency market is surging in value, like back in December 2017 and January 2018, news has a huge effect. Why is this? Well, it’s related to market psychology. When the market is bullish, prices are going up, and people are making money, something called irrational exuberance takes place. Ill let the figure below explain it.

As you can see, when a market cycle its nearing its peak, euphoria is in the air. During this period, any positive news can have a huge affect on the price.
Positive Bitcoin News
Back in November 2017, the first ever Bitcoin Futures product was approved. Within just over two weeks, the value of Bitcoin went from $10,000 USD to $20,000 USD.

On the 1st December, the CBOE futures contract was approved to begin trading on the 18th December. The event was a milestone in Bitcoins history, as this was one of the first major Bitcoin financial products to be approved. As we can see, the Bitcoin price climbed from December 1st all the way to the 18th. Not surprisingly, the price began to decline immediately after the 18th as the ‘hype’ of the news started to rapidly wear off.
Negative Bitcoin News
In early September 2017, around the 5th to be exact, China banned initial coin offerings in the country. This made conducting an ICO in China illegal. Right as this announcement was released, the entire cryptocurrency market dropped from $162 billion total market cap, to $136 billion.

Then on the 18th January, South Korean regulators considered shutting down cryptocurrency exchanges. Shortly after on February the 6th, China again hit the industry hard with a ban on all foreign Bitcoin and cryptocurrency exchanges. Since the 7th January, the cryptocurrency market has shaved over $600B off its market cap.

There is no doubt, the cryptocurrency market was due for a healthy correction following the December and January highs. But one cannot deny the continuous negative press coming from regulators and the effect it has on the crypto markets.
Does Bitcoin News Affect Market Sentiment?
Firstly, lets explain market sentiment. This is the great explanation given by Investopedia.
“Market sentiment is the feeling or tone of a market, or its crowd psychology, as revealed through the activity and price movement of the securities traded in that market.”
Market Sentiment is how people are feeling based on the price of their investments. Investments are going up in value, you feel good. Investments are going down in value, you feel bad. Pretty simple, but nonetheless very important to analyse.
From a Bitcoin price perspective, does negative news affect sentiment? Absolutely. We showed in the previous section that negative news affects the price. We know the price affects mood, and thus sentiment, as investment and psychology and closely related.
So knowing this, its gives us a good grounding as to how the market may react following positive or negative news. The level of reaction, or the intensity, is generally correlated to the market cycle.
Bitcoin News and Google Traffic Correlation
I bet you didn’t think we could go even deeper on this. Well, we can, we can go much deeper. Let me explain.
We know News affects prices, and this level of effect is based on the market cycle psychology. We also know that News and the prices of Bitcoin affect market sentiment. Well the next layer is ‘public interest’. Public interest can be measured by how interested people are in a topic.
To analyse this in a simple and efficient way, we can view how much traffic, or ‘searches’, people are conducting for Bitcoin or Bitcoin News on any given day. We can do this using Google Trends, which lets us analyse certain topics and their relevant global traffic.
Here is a snapshot from a Google Trend search. To make a reasonable comparison, I searched for “Bitcoin News”, “Apple News”, “Amazon News”, and “Facebook News”.

Bitcoins searches on Google during the later months of 2017 are huge. And see just how stable the searches for Apple, Amazon and Facebook were? What this demonstrates is the strong correlation to Bitcoin News, bitcoins price, market sentiment, and public interest. It’s almost like a self-fulling prophecy, and quite frankly its fascinating.
The Many Lives of Bitcoin
Over the years, Bitcoin has been hilariously declared dead over 300 times. When various mainstream news outlets cover Bitcoin News in a negative light calling for its demise, it gets added to the Bitcoin obituaries.
One of the most famous is when Jamie Dimon, the CEO of JP Morgan, called Bitcoin a fraud. Comparing Bitcoin to tulips in reference to the Dutch Tulip Mania, Dimon went on to elude to only murderers and drug dealers using the currency.

Amusingly, he actually publicly stated that he regretted making that statement not long afterwards.
So great are the attacks on Bitcoin over the years, the death threats have become commonplace. For those in the industry, we shrug it off and have a chuckle. Bitcoin is a honey badger and just refuses to die.

BitSeven.com - The World Crypto Con, which has just finished in Las Vegas, had a curious ending. Two crypto investor behemoths made a bet on the price level Bitcoin will reach by the end of next year.
Ronnie Moas, a crypto trader who also deals with stocks, publicly stated that he bets $20,000 against Vinny Lingham, founder of $CVC. Moas claims that Bitcoin will surge to $28,000 by November-December 2019. The money he can win, he clarified on Twitter, will be donated to charity foundations.
The crypto community demonstrated a mixed reaction to this event. The majority apparently believes that Moas is most likely to win. The trader even made a retweet of a user’s post in which the guy expressed his condolences to Lingham for his future financial loss.
Taking into account that the Bitcoin rate has slightly risen and got more stable recently and seems to keep around the $6,400 point more or less, this stabilization on the market may well produce a bullish trend in the short term. Besides, institutional investors have been actively pouring their money in the major crypto coin; so, the chances that the BTC quote may sour within a few months are good.

My 79 year old father whom has listened to me talk about Bitcoin for years came to me today to say he wants to buy some. (Surprised) We are talking probably $15-20K here.

Hey all. I'm a 17 y/o high school student who's been programming for 7 years now as a hobby, with 5 of those years being primarily in Python, and I'm looking to make some small side money by teaching my hobby to others.
I'll teach anyone of all ages Python programming for $10 per session. We can hold sessions over Discord (so I can screenshare). Sessions will typically last a maximum of 1-2 hours each, and will cover a very wide array of topics. I have slideshow presentations prepared for every session, as well as worksheets full of optional practice exercises for you to do if you feel that you need practice, and cheatsheets for you if you ever need a reference. Every session consists of information, demonstrations, and session projects in which I guide you through making a specific program using the information learned in the session.
Session 0 (Introduction) is free as it only contains information about the class flow, who I am, what Python is, how to install Python, and running your first program as well as a demonstration of real world Python application by creating a TCP port scanner in Python. If you're not sure whether or not I'm the right person to be teaching you, contact me so we can arrange a FREE introduction session so that you can determine whether or not you'd like to take my sessions.

Q: How many lessons would someone need to be good?
A: After about 5 sessions, you'll understand the basics and fundamentals of Python (Basics A, B, Functions, Mathematics and Data Visualization, and Object-Oriented Programming). To be considered "good", I'd estimate around 10-ish individual sessions, assuming that you do the optional practice worksheets I provide and pursue projects outside of those provided (I can definitely help you with this. Let me know).
Q: Can you help me build ___?
A: Only if it's not unethical! I've been contacted before and asked if I can help in building view bots or sneaker bots, to which I've had to respond to with an astounding "no." I refuse to help in the development of unethical programs.
Q: Can you do Java?
A: While I do program in Java, the curriculum I have planned out (slides, practice worksheets, cheatsheets) is for Python, and I'm only willing to make a separate curriculum for Java if I have a client base large enough (relative to my Python curriculum) to justify it.
