There are ongoing giveaway scams on youtube and many scammers lurking in Cardano's social channels impersonating ambassadors/moderators/official staff contacting users via direct messages.

For example, searching 'cardano' on youtube and sorting by most recent upload date shows several giveaway scams running (all videos in screenshot are scams):

The youtube scams are automated; use stolen footage usually of Charles Hoskinson and are restreamed so to appear to be 'live'; appear to have many watchers (which are bots); use bought hacked channels and are edited to appear like official channels.

• ⚠️ Never share your seed phrase with ANYONE
• ⚠️ Never send ADA to someone promising to send you more ADA back

Midnight Subreddit

In anticipation of Input Output's new data protection blockchain 'Midnight', I've managed to acquire r/Midnight through some negotiation and repurpose it for the Cardano Community (the sub was created for a card game back in 2011 but was mostly unused).

I decided to do this as I thought the project will eventually need a home on reddit and best to setup now before any scammers do. Obviously there's not much to post about on there right now as it's early days as the project is yet to be released, but if you'd like to be kept up to date on the project please feel free to join the new subreddit if the project interests you and I'll be sure to post updates as and when they become available.

Right now the sub is mostly a carbon copy of r/cardano, I've copied most of the automod and rules over, so certain aspects may seem a little incongruent atm, but I'll tailor and tweak the sub as we go. Feel free to send me or post any input if you want stuff to change.

There's a New Sh*tcoin In Town..

If you've been on Crypto Twitter today (the most degen parts of it), you might have seen discussion of a new memecoin thats creating quite a buzz due to how ridiculous it is. Now I've seen some interesting sh*tcoins in my time, but this one just might take the cake.

It's name is HarryPotterObamaSonic10Inu and its ticker is $BITCOIN for some reason. Its trending on Dextools, because why wouldn't be?

The HarryPotterObamaSonic10Inu website is a 90's themed memetastic rollercoaster of an eyesore, truly fitting for a memecoin of its caliber. It plays weird sound effects and its visual effects are headache inducing.

Before the year 2023, when time did not exist, the universe manifested a store of value. The identification of this value is best described as the Quest (sometimes the Quest of Hallows). Anyone can relive the manifestation by charging their core of Neptune with enough opal as they sleep. Bo then in turn had minted a number of baseball cards (a gift of value that generates further value). This recursive gifting is second among the tenets that the Universe is sending across the channel of Neptune, the third being the Optimistic Flurry, of which Sonichu is a diluted representation of and Sonic embodies the spirit much more cleanly. The identification of the manifestation of these three Tenets that we call the Quest has also inspired other fictional works such as those by J.K. Rowling. And her writings on what she calls the Deathly Hallows. Resisting the will of the universe weakens one’s immunity to the effect of the low vibrational darkness sludge entities and the kundalini wilts in turn, so the logical actor must embark on the Quest. With the Quest’s fruits now laid bare before us, we can assign a human-language name to it. HarryPotterObamaSonic10Inu is nothing less than an embodiment of the Quest that led to its discovery (with the exception of 10, being the number of spirals that comprise the Tree of Life). If we listen, we can understand that it is a store of value.

Unfortunately, this is not satire and this coin is very much real. Stay away from it at all cost unless you are a masochist who likes pain...
