One of the things that will assure bitcoin's ascendency is it's simplicity.

And here's an extensive catalogue primer's on what blockchains are, how they work, why you can totally trust them, oh, and here's some links about mining is (not literal mining you goof) and how its an essential function of bitcoin, and here's a bunch of you-tube videos about deflationary currency (actually, here's a link to a youtube channel - it's got about 200 videos, you'll want to watch them in your spare time). OK, and we need to talk about storage, how to use it, how not to get hacked, how to buy and sell it, why not to keep it on exchanges. . .what am I forgetting. . .oh right right right - I almost forgot, just keep a record of your basis and then every transaction because transactions aren't like sales with money, they're actually considered trade of securities and therefor taxable events - so you'll want to record the value and pay taxes on any profits or carry losses forward to offset against future gains. . .maybe it's best if you hire an accountant for your taxes going forward. . .

I think that covers most of it - simple, you see! Everyone will be doing it.

[Discussion] What caused the bitcoin 2017 bull run?

I always like to figure out cause and affect on what happens to something. During this bear market, I asked a simple question that I don’t see much of, What started the Bull Market. There’s many ideas and would like to know yours. Here’s a list of possible outcomes or what could’ve caused the Bull Market. Keep in note that all of these could’ve all played together like a beautiful piece of music.

-Bitcoin halving: Mine less bitcoin every couple years, which will pump bitcoin if the demand is there. There was this halving.

-WanaCryptOr 2.0: I got this answer when I first asked in a telegram chat. Was a computer virus that affected thousands of computers with over 45,000 attacks. The payment must be paid in btc. People had to pay $300 and one hospital reported of paying $14k in btc. Now with people buying btc the price would shoot up due to demand. -China in financial crisis: Now being investor from Summer of 2017 we all know about the China ban, but what if the Bull Market was started by the people of China not liking the the financial situation in China. I googled historical events in China and saw China’s economy was in decline according to this website starting in 2015 (Bitcoin hit its bottom in 2015 around $200+), but it seems like there was some political struggles in the China government. -ICO tech boom: Maybe 2017 was the tech boom of blockchain and as China faces economic struggles ICOs strived and pumped the market with new innovation, yet most are scams with no real product. Just hope and dreams.

-People just believe in crypto: Now throwing a dule option out there. Bitcoin is always going up long term because of the faith in governments. We elect people for the best, but we fear they are gonna kill us like the Cold War. As people lose faith in governments, they don’t want to be tied up in a government that can implode itself by unregulated business practices and political practices around the world. With blockchain, you will know everything that happens since it’s public.

These are some reasons on what could’ve of started the Bull Market of 2017 or we never left the Bull Market. What are your thoughts and which one do you believe or don’t believe. I think it’s great to find logic than of what makes us angry

The Supreme Court on Saturday directed the authorities concerned to set a deadline for dual nationality holders to either rescind their foreign nationalities or resign from their job immediately. Headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, a three-judge bench of the apex court announced its judgement in a case pertaining to public servants holding dual nationalities.

It directed the authorities to develop criteria and standard operating procedures (SOPs) requiring disclosure of intent to seek such foreign nationalities and permanent residence permits and adopt methods to check such instances and enforce penalties for no-disclosure.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Sunday confirmed the death sentence awarded to 15 hardcore terrorists involved in heinous offences related to terrorism.

The terrorists who were tried and awarded capital punishments by special military courts were involved in attacks on the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, abetting suicide bombers in an attack on Christian Colony near Peshawar, destruction of educational institutions and killing of innocent civilians, according to the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR).

Federal Minister for Privatization Muhammad Mian Soomro has said that the PTI- led federal government will provide all possible help for the revival of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), ARY News reported on Sunday. The federal minister visited PIA Headquarters and met CEO of PIA, Air Marshal Arshad Malik to get briefing about the current position of the organization.

“Government will help in every possible way for PIA’s revival,” adding it [PIA] is moving in positive direction now. Mr Soomro said government is committed to transform PIA into profitable organization as it was in the past.

-Gas supply resumed to CNG sector

Federal Minister for Petroleum Ghulam Sarwar Khan on Saturday announced that the supply of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) was estored in Karachi and Sindh at around 8PM. ddressing media in Karachi alongside Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, the petroleum minister said that the days long crisis will be over as the supply was restored to CNG sector at 8PM.

-“Japanese firms to invest in Pakistan’s steel, baby formula milk industries”

Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce, Textile and Industries Abdul Razak Dawood said that officials from major Japanese firms are scheduled to visit Pakistan next month for making investments in country’s steel and baby formula milk industries. Speaking at a press conference, Dawood informed that last month Japanese companies assured to invest in Pakistan during the bilateral trade talks in Japan. He said a delegation of Japanese companies, manufacturing steel and baby formula milk, will be visiting Pakistan after January 15. Moreover, the Japanese government also promised to allocate skill development and technology development funds for small industries in Pakistan, the PM adviser said.

-Aleem Khan vows initiate large-scale development projects in Punjab

Punjab Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan on Sunday vowed to initiate large-scale development projects across the province on emergency basis. Talking to journalists at Punjab secretariat, Aleem Khan said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government will soon devise policy to regularize the slums in the province. He said that provision of potable water to every locality is government’s responsibility and added that their party will fulfill all the promises made with the masses. The minister also listen public complaints on the occasion and said that the government will not make any compromise on public issues. He said that 908 complaints have been registered so far at the public secretariat and added that out of 815 complaints had been addressed.

-CPEC to increase Pakistan GDP growth by 3%

Muhammad Saleem Acting High Commissioner (HC) of Pakistan while speaking at Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) conference arranged by Carleton University said through CPEC Pakistan will become an energy secure country and its GDP growth will increase by 2-3pc. He said early harvest energy and infrastructure projects, created 40,000 local jobs and the new projects will usher into an era of development and prosperity.

Speaking on the occasion, Chinese Ambassador to Canada, Mr. Lu Shaye said that BRI is not a geo-political tool but it is a new approach to international development and prosperity and it aims to advance economic and trade coordination among regional countries. A large number of academics, diplomats, media persons, businessmen and students attended the conference.

Yet another mini budget is on cards from the PTI government in a bid to bridge the gap of the increasing revenue shortfall. Federal government is considering major revenue measures including raising the GST rate on POL products, slapping tax on the telecom companies, reversing the tax relief for salaried class by 50 percent and increasing the tax rate on cigarettes by reviewing the existing third tier taxation system. The jacking up of additional custom duty by 1 percent is also among the proposals floated by the FBR to achieve the revenue targets. The Federal Minister for Finance Asad Umar is currently visiting abroad so after his return the government could take final decision on finalising additional revenue measures to bridge the yawning revenue shortfall within the next couple of weeks.

Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce, Textile and Industries Abdul Razak Dawood has announced that the government has finalised a five-year national tariff policy aimed at restricting duties on raw material and machinery imports for export-based industries. “We are making efforts to rationalise certain taxes and regulatory and customs duties,” he said. “At present, there exists roughly 34 different taxes and the government is planning to reduce them to 12 or eight in the next couple of years.” It would assist the leadership to remove a key impediment in the way of ease of doing business, the adviser emphasised, adding that he was well aware of the challenges faced by the business community regarding tax slabs and tariff lines.

There are around 34 different taxes and the government is planning to shrink to 12 or eight in next couple of years, he said, adding that this would help in meeting the challenge of one core impediment in ease of doing business. He said that the government had finalized the five-year national tariff policy to bring down tariffs on raw material and machinery imports for export-based industries.

-Services exports jump 14.28pc, trade deficit falls 49pc in October

The services exports from Pakistan surged by 14.28 per cent to $470 million in October, as compared to the exports during the same month of the previous year.

The trade deficit of services also fell sharply by 49.05 per cent during the month as it decreased to $195 million against the trade deficit of $382 million in the same month of previous year, according to latest data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). The imports of services declined by 16.25 per cent to $665 million in the corresponding month as compared to import of $794.02 million in October 2017. Meanwhile, the trade deficit of services during first four months of current fiscal year (2018-19) also shrank by 33.75 per cent as exports increased by 2.13 per cent and imports fell by 15.47 per cent during the period, as compared to the period from July-October of 2017-18.

The advisor was speaking at the prize distribution ceremony at the concluding day of 3-day “Interiors Pakistan” international exhibition at Expo Center, organised by Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC). Dawood also appreciated PFC Chief Executive Mian Kashif Ashfaq for holding a successful exhibition and said PFC deserved appreciation for promoting the culture of local brands to strengthen the national economy.

Welcome to my fifth annual Year in Review, in which I chronicle the previous in reddit, circlejerks, and circlebroke. And like the other years, this one was a doozy. So, without further ado, let me present to you...

The #MeToo movement is still in full swing. The MO for 2018 remains the same, agreeing with anyone who speaks out against the movement and downplaying the actions of people they like.

A redditor takes m’lady out on a date, can’t let go of something minor, and ends up humiliating her in front of the staff. Mods decided that while something bad happened, he didn’t fuck up.

February

Remember Ugandan Knuckles? It was a flavor-of-the-week maymay that was pretty blatantly racist. Redditors decided to shit up /r/uganda, a place where people once had actual discussions about the country where they lived or visited, with their shitty memes.

Black Panther becomes the first major superhero movie with an all-black cast. Redditors open the racist floodgates, then proceed to get pissy about being accused of being racists.

Did you hear? Daddy Musk launched a car into space. This is such a big deal that reddit has to insult anyone critical of the occasion and also compare his struggle to bitcoin for some reason.

Another mass shooting, another song and dance about how of course guns aren’t the problem, idiot. Only this time, an extra helping of vitriol is directed at teenagers!

We did it circlebroke! Racist fake-news mill /r/uncensorcednews is permabanned!

Survivors of the Parkland shooting organized a nationwide anti-gun march which is like rage-filled catnip for anti-activist and pro-gun redditors.

Another Nazi getting punched in the face, another visit from the Volunteer Nazi Safety Brigade.

As a bonus, the events of previous months produced what it probably the cringiest writing prompt ever devised.

Rapper Childish Gambino made an music video for the song “This Is America.” It’s not subtle. White redditors dropped by to “well actually” about how it is a critique of black culture.

If only the powers that be listened to redditors, they could have prevented another school shooting, something that redditors know everything about.

In what is becoming a semi-annual occurrence, another swath of gamers pitched a shitfit about women and minorities appearing in their bideo bames. This time, gamers are so fed up after seeing a woman in the trailer for Battlefield V that they wish the Nazis had won WWII

Certified conspiracy nut Alex Jones got his dangerously stupid and reactionary podcast pull from all the major carriers. Naturally, redditeurs got super mad about it.

The hacker behind 2014’s “The Fappening” scandal was sentenced to prison for his deeds. Queue up “Uptown Funk,” because for a moment it was 2014 again because redditors were back to victim blaming and downplaying the illegal actions.

Reddit’s favorite stand-up comedian, Louis C.K. performed his first stand-up since his #MeToo fall from grace. Time for some revisionist history!

Analysis

I’ve got some bad news, and some good news.

The bad news: 2018 sucked. Being on reddit in 2018 sucked.

The good news: Being on reddit in 2018 sucked about as much as being on reddit in 2017 sucked.

Things didn’t get noticeably worse this year, plus there wasn’t any large scale drama like Ellen Pao stuff or FPH stuff back in 2015 (my, what a long time ago that was). In 2016 and 2017, reddit became a haven for the alt-right and a nerve center for targeted harassment campaigns. In 2018, more of the same shit was happening, but at more or less the same level we were accustomed to. The Nazis and trolls were still in every nook and cranny, but it seems like they ran out of gamers to indoctrinate or new nooks and crannies to invade. Plus, a few notable cesspools got banned or quarantined. The levels of shit just kinda plateaued. Presently, we stand on a giant plateau of shit. There's shit in every direction, as far as the eye can see. Things could have been better, of course. But things probably could have gone even worse. At least we aren't starting up a mountain of shit.

We survived it.

We got used to it.

You know, like a frog gets used to boiling water.

May we all have a safe, happy, healthy, and sane 2019.

The #MeToo movement is still in full swing. The MO for 2018 remains the same, agreeing with anyone who speaks out against the movement and downplaying the actions of people they like.

Black Panther becomes the first major superhero movie with an all-black cast. Redditors open the racist floodgates, then proceed to get pissy about being accused of being racists.

Did you hear? Daddy Musk launched a car into space. This is such a big deal that reddit has to insult anyone critical of the occasion and also compare his struggle to bitcoin for some reason.

Another mass shooting, another song and dance about how of course guns aren’t the problem, idiot. Only this time, an extra helping of vitriol is directed at teenagers!

March

We did it circlebroke! Racist fake-news mill /r/uncensorcednews is permabanned!

Survivors of the Parkland shooting organized a nationwide anti-gun march which is like rage-filled catnip for anti-activist and pro-gun redditors.

Another Nazi getting punched in the face, another visit from the Volunteer Nazi Safety Brigade.

As a bonus, the events of previous months produced what it probably the cringiest writing prompt ever devised.

Rapper Childish Gambino made an music video for the song “This Is America.” It’s not subtle. White redditors dropped by to “well actually” about how it is a critique of black culture.

If only the powers that be listened to redditors, they could have prevented another school shooting, something that redditors know everything about.

CB mods declare Summerbroke. Is that even any different from regular CB?

When virtually every nation on earth condemned the Trump administration’s policy of family separation, reddit chimed in with the usual cold-heartedness and whataboutism.

Some dipshit literally clamped his balls to a car battery and electrocuted himself in order to win a dumb online argument. Reddit has a new hero.

The EU was going to ban memes, or something. Reddit did nothing, and then patted themselves on the back once their may-mays were safe.

The founder of KiA scuttled the sub, disgusted at the cesspit of racism and sexism it had become. It took admins less than half an hour to get it up and running.

Certified conspiracy nut Alex Jones got his dangerously stupid and reactionary podcast pull from all the major carriers. Naturally, redditeurs got super mad about it.
