Why is everyone’s instagram and Facebook getting hacked right now?

Obviously hacks happen all the time, but I have seen SO MANY people get hacked in the last week or two by the exact same thing. Hackers are getting into accounts and posting about how they made “$10,000 in bitcoin”, and then sending messages out to everyone on the friends list. One messaged me and I fucked with him a while but can confirm it is an actual person on the other end, not just bots. One of my friends even had a video of himself saying “I just made a ton of money investing in crypto” that they used on his account to make the scam look real.

What is going on? How are people getting access to these accounts, and how are the scammers able to get videos like that, and what recent event happened to cause it like such a strong wave?

How does inflation affect Bitcoin?

Let's talk about inflation and it’s direct impact on Bitcoin. The current inflation rate is ~6,8-7%.

The inflation rate is rising, and this December’s rate was the highest since June 1982.

What is Token Burning in Crypto?

Token burning is the process through which coins are purposely and permanently removed from the circulating supply.

It is typically performed by the development team which can also buy back tokens and burn them.

It involves parts of the supply that are already available, such as unallocated tokens or those that are stored in the team’s Treasury.

Some companies burn tokens regularly, while others do so as a one-off event.

For example, in the summer of 2021, Ethereum introduced a burning token system to the network in order to solve the eternal problem of high gas fees. By November, 1 million ETH were burned. Unlike Bitcoin, Ethereum doesn’t have a limited supply, but it does have an annual maximum supply of 18 million ETH.
