hey, iam a so called bitcoin maximalist (i think) but with doubts.
my doubts revolve around the "fact"(?) that 90+% of all transactions are created by bots and that tether maybe just printing the shit out of it and pumping the price without backing every tether with one USD.
what if this comes out and what if, somehow, exchanges will forbit bot trading (lets just imagine this will be somehow possible). then the daily transaction volume shrinks by 90% and everyone sees how tiny and insignificant bitcoin or the crypto market is. that event + the tether is just a scam event are somehow my greatest fears.
what do you guys think about it?

So I received a letter from the IRS today. I have an account with Coinbase and Coinbase shared my info with IRS. My question is, how do I know how much I owe the IRS? The IRS said they treat bitcoin as property. I few years ago my brother transferred money to my bank account so I could buy bitcoin for him. Then I sent the bitcoins through Coinbase to him $17,000 worth in 2016. Do I owe any taxes from that event?
