If you want to dump BSV... some tips on splitting safely. Don't lose your BCH!

Many people are interested right now in gathering up their BSV coins and dumping them on exchanges. Bittrex has just opened deposits however there is a big caveat:

If you attempt to dump your BSV coins onto an exchange like Bittrex, and you have not properly split the coins, a replay attack could result in permanent loss of your (much more valuable) BCH!!!

For this reason it is essential that you split your coins and verify that the coins are split.

Step 1 : get your coins into Electron Cash

Electron Cash ( https://electroncash.org/ ) is the de-facto wallet for coin splitting since it allows you to connect to both BCH and BSV chains, simply by selecting a different server in the Network dialog.

Important: do not make a separate wallet in Electron Cash and send your coins from another wallet. This transaction might fail to replay, though this failure to replay could be temporary and leave your coins in a dangerous state where replays could happen at any time. Instead, you need to load another copy of your wallet in Electron Cash.

Mobile wallet / other software wallet

We will start by importing your wallet seed into Electron Cash.

Create new wallet. "I already have a seed". For BIP39 seeds (see below) click Options button to enable BIP39 seed, and then enter the path on the subsequent page.

  • Bitcoin.com wallet. Options: BIP39 seed. Path: 44'/0'/0' .
    • If bitcoin.com wallet backup page says "This recovery phrase was created with a password. To recover this wallet both the recovery phrase and password are needed." then you must also check 'custom words' and enter your original recovery password on the next page (this may be distinct from your wallet password).
  • Others: to be added...

Hardware wallet

Try to set up your hardware wallet in Electron Cash. This lets you transact on both BCH and BSV chains even if the official software for your hardware wallet (such as Trezor's) does not support this.

Step 2 : split your coins

Although there are tools (like my special variant release of Electron Cash) for making split guaranteed split coins from scratch, there are easier ways. In particular if you can get a small 'dust' split coin from someone else, then you can leverage this to rapidly split your whole wallet. I recommend following Calin's guide here.

Calin's guide also has instructions on how to select BCH and BSV servers, so it's a good read regardless.

There are some cases where a BCH transaction fails to replay initially but then later gets replayed. This could mean that your initial 'dust' initially looks like a split coins but is not, and the replay protection is faulty. For this reason, you should also make a conflicting transaction on the BSV chain, by spending at least one of the same transaction inputs back to yourself.

Step 3 : wait a bit, just to be safe.

With threats of block re-organization attacks floating around, you should wait several confirmations to make sure the splitting 'sticks' and is effectively irreversible.

Step 4 : verify the split

Visit these two block explorer sites and enter the transaction IDs of both your BCH splitting transaction, and your BSV conflicting transaction:

BCH explorer: https://blockdozer.com/

BSV explorer: https://bchsvexplorer.com/

On each site enter both transaction ID's. You want to ensure here that transaction A is only on BCH chain, and transaction B is only on BSV chain.

If you have failed to split, then one txid will be on both chains. If this happens, don't worry! You can just go back to step 2 and try again.

Step 5 : send BSV

Now that your BSV is split from BCH, you can send it whereever you want without fear if having your BCH accidentally dragged along with it.

I cannot provide any advice on what you should do, financially, with your BSV coins. Good luck, and stay smart!

Is Bitcoin's Dominance Good for the Crypto Marketplace?

Unless you have been living in an isolated remote island somewhere you may have heard that the Crypto community has been at odds, the market has reacted, lines have been drawn and shots fired.

It turns out the ghosts in the Crypto past must be dealth with.

https://i.redd.it/f892f6ktl8z11.jpg

Any CryptoCurrency project is inadvertently connected to the rise and fall of Bitcoin. While on one hand, this is a positive metric to gauge the health of the overall Crypto Market, in the short term this lends an increasing layer of volatility that is directly hurting competing currencies and projects.

Unless your ecosystem or community can adopt a sustainable use - your project will eventually run out of money and die.

Imagine something like an ego fight between to Crypto Giants crushing the work of others who are not even related to Bitcoin and BitcoinCash. It's a very real reality of the day to day work of many.

As Technology evolves it regresses into natural human behavior- the CryptoCurrency boom is no different. At present it has become a race for utility and adoption in the face of fortunes being created or wiped out overnight.

Sadly this deft undertaking has lent many a late night of high blood pressure insomnia - I myself can attest to it.

We have to pay attention then to the world outside our bubbles and the narrative that the external world out beyond our crypto universe recognized and reacts too.

I got the following from = https://www.newsbtc.com/2018/11/15/brian-kelly-bitcoin-cash-hard-fork-caused-crypto-civil-war/

The cryptocurrency market is experiencing a downward momentum because of Bitcoin’s dominance (52.7 percent, according to CoinmMrketcCp.com) and very thin trading in most digital assets. Meltem Demirors, CEO of cryptocurrency research firm CoinShares, told CNBC that some investment funds have taken “some money off the table” after a number of events piled up.

“I think all other assets that are not Bitcoin are in the midst of a liquidity crisis. What we’re seeing across the board is asset prices are down 75 percent or more, in some cases 95 percent. We’re now at a point where projects are running out of money. They’re going to need to start firing employees. They’re going to need to cut costs. You’re going to see consolidation, and some of these assets, inevitably, will get marked to zero.”

Trading market in the crypto market: does it grow or drop?

Taking into consideration the latest events in the market, namely, rapid drop of bitcoin price to $5500, there’s a relevant question – is creating a project in this area worth it now? Maybe, FortFC won’t succeed because of this.

The only financially correct way to avoid value fragmentation and merchant shutdown and to allow permission less evolution of rules

First. This topic has nothing to do with ideology. A rule of a blockchain may be drastically attractive/unappealing to most/some people but it is impossible to forcedly forbid the rule due to the "permission less" nature.

Second. Suppose a coin is only valid in chain 1 and chain 2, the price of the coin is the price of the coin only valid in chain 1 plus the price of the coin only valid in chain 2. If your brain cannot function in abstract way, just imagine the bitcoin network as a corporate of forges and the game is like this: Let W1, W2, W3 be the energy power of forge 1, forge 2, forge 3. The amount of gold of a coin added by a specific forge i is the notional amount of the coin times Wi. The gold is always in recycle, moved from the input coins to the output coins with the help of all forges. Every coin is a plastic box containing some gold, and the steps to add the gold is as below.

When a transaction is broadcast, for example, a transaction being input 1 and input 2 to output 1 and output 2 and input 1 coin and input 2 coin are both valid in all chains. The corporate does the following:

prepare two empty plastic boxes for output

for i from 1 to 3

If

the transaction is valid in rule of forge i

then

remove gold amount of input 1 * Wi from input 1 coin and remove gold amount of input 2 * Wi from input 2 coin

add the amount of gold output 1 * Wi into output 1 box and add the amount of gold output 2 * Wi into output 2 box

Mark "void in forge i" on the two input boxes.

else

do nothing

end if

Therefore, for example, if the transaction is only valid in chain 1 and chain 2, the output 1 box will contain gold amount output 1 * (W1 + W2), the output 2 box will contain gold amount output 2 * (W1 + W2), the input 1 box and input 2 box will have "void in forge 1 and forge 2" mark, the input 1 box and input 2 box are still valid in forge 3 but contain less gold. The price of the two output coins is W1 + W2. The price of the two input is reduced from W1 + W2 + W3 to W3. The more forges rule that a coin is valid, the higher is the price of the coin and the more stable is the price of the coin thanks to energy being always positive and conserved. If a forge rule is so devastating that no coins can be valid in all chains due to its inclusion, that forge is simply another corporate to create another coin and not part of the corporate; a user would need to craft two transactions instead of one when he conducts a deal.

Knowing that the coins in the same chain do not necessarily have the same price, people will category coins by their validity and calculate their value by market data of the very category. When chain 2 and chain 3 are in fight for some nonsense therefore mining power jumping between chain 2 and chain 3. Prices of coins valid in chain 2 and chain 3 or of coins valid in all chains remain. If forge 1 moves part of its energy power W1 helping chain 2 for the fight, then prices of coins valid in chain 1 and chain 2 and chain 3 or of coins valid in all chains remain.

The last trivial choice to everyone is that, given that the coins valid in all chains have highest price and stability, which coins will Joe chooses as default setting of the wallet as a retail customer or currency name marketing as an exchange or item price on the tag as a merchant? Exchange market and merchants can be nonstop even during the chain 2 and chain 3 fight.

Much more than that. "permission less" is not only for software innovation but also for rules evolution.

Want a CPU mining algorithm? Split a chain and enjoy the same network players and go ahead without anyone's permission. Remember bitcoin is in fact a proof-of-energy-work system. If the chain does grow to significant energy power around the globe to do the mining work believed by people, the chain will be part of "all alive chain" and a smaller hash rate is meaningless.

Want a KYC chain? Split a chain and enjoy the same network players and go ahead without anyone's permission. If it cannot grow to viable energy power around the globe to do the work believed by people, the coins only valid in this chain will be near zero price and this chain will hardly be part of "all alive chain".

All solved by market with correct concepts, no geeks, no round table, no war, all peace.

Community To-Do list

  1. Exchanges and people shall adopt the financially correct definition of a currency by the coin itself rather than by the chain it sits. Update your system accordingly and don't behave financially dishonestly. If market price signal is clear, no one will mix high price coins with low price coins carelessly.

  2. Wallets shall have the capability to select coins of specific choice of validity and never mix the notional amount of coins of different category for reporting balance amount. All current implement of wallets wrongly adds an apple with a banana.

  3. Wallets shall provide basic coins split capability so that users can enjoy the specific feature of a specific chain if they intend.

Before the 2018 Nov split, BCH is the category of coins valid in three chains: legacy chain, ABC chain, BSV chain where the three chains happen to be identical. After the split, legacy chain is dead and all energy power of legacy chain goes into ABC chain and BSV chain. Therefore, after the split, BCH shall be still the category of coins valid in ABC chain and BSV chain for the sake of all good properties of coins valid in all alive chain.

If you are not interested in features offered by a specific chain, you don’t need to pick a side, remember you can easily split your coins anytime but never possible the opposite direction. You may have already the coins valid in all chains. If not, you can also get one from the exchange after the exchanges accomplish the task in the above To-do list. BCH, as coins valid in all chains, cease to issue new coins with 17.4M volume after Nov 15 2018 and remains the volume only if no one splits the coins. ABC, as coins only valid in ABC chain, start issuing coins up to 3.6M volume plus the volume from users’ intentional BCH coins split since Nov 15 2018; similar for BSV. The coins of “valid in all chains” will evolve. For example, if BSV chain is dead and no new chains appear down the road, ABC coin is also the coins valid in all chains, therefore becomes BCH too and ABC coins volume is merged into BCH volume, totals 21M volume.

The same method should have been adopted in 2017 chain split if people are wise. Then the bitcoin of a user who is never interested in these split events is price at sum of BTC price and BCH price.

Why I'm investing in IHT Real Estate Protocol and you should too - Part-5

Another week coming to its end but the bear does not seem to stop roaring soon. Bitcoin touched the lowest price in this year, probably taking a nap before the bull run. Once again greetings from the crypto community and congrats for being an early adopter of the blockchain. Double congrats to those who holding IHT tokens with long-term vision, becasue I know you'll make the profit you always wanted.

This is a series post and today I'm publishing part five. Here I try to explain why I believe i-House is a great project to invest if you are regular here, there is a good chance you already read my previous posts, if not you can take a look around IHT's Reddit sub for all the good posts from many users and supporters including me.

By far Bitcoin is the most accepted crypto till now, currently sitting in volatility in the market, though it is hard to predict how investors will react to the recent events. Once again, this week BTC warned and remind that it is not backed by anything, so the value depends only by investors reaction. So, if people think it is not worth enough, probably it can go down to zero value. However that is less likely to happen, but it is always good to invest in crypto that is backed by physical assets so that the price does not depend only on investors. Also, it holds the value of the assets and increases equity. At this point, i-House (IHT) is my favorite cryptocurrency that is fully backed by real estate assets. On the other hand, the development of this project never stopped, even never slowed down. The team behind IHT regularly creating new partnerships, participating meetups and conferences, bringing new ATO projects, working with different projects, publishing media article for better exposure. They bringing new opportunities to incentivize investors through a program like i-Hodl. Moreover, they are getting listed in new exchanges in every few months.

The key reason to invest in IHT: It's a combo investment opportunity. Investing in cryptocurrency and real estate industry at the same time with no additional costing.

I believe we are still in the early phase of investment, so if you are not involved yet, go get some IHT token while it is still cheap, it won't stay long. Welcome to the community.

Disclaimer: I'm just a fan and investor of IHT, you should do your own research before making a final decision. The opinions of this article are solely mine and not provided by any official team member.

WRAP UP: TEMCO’S VERY FIRST SUCCESSFUL MEEUP!

https://medium.com/temcolabs/warp-up-temcos-very-first-successful-meeup-d140a6d3bb2e

TEMCO’s very own first ever meetup was completed with success!

Everything was planned out accordingly and it was a great event that many people showed up to learn about TEMCO, as the first dApp to utilize RSK’s smart contract and side chain technology on the bitcoin network.

For those in overseas and couldn’t make it to the meetup, thank you for supporting from far away and appreciate for following up with us all these times!

So, the meet up was at a hotel called “Hotel Riviera”, which is known for very big events. Occasional usage for this place is for weddings and large up-scale events, and known for having various celebrity guests coming by.

The meetup started out with a buffet dinner with some champagne and wine, around 7PM.

Then, we had an introduction section with our very own TEMCO’s CEO, Scott Yoon. https://www.temco.io/#/

Token distribution V-ID

https://i.redd.it/l5maxohvc4z11.png

The V-ID service token is an ERC20 token that is used to identify wallet addresses (for issuers / reviewers) and is used as a payment for verification. The platform can be used online (human interface) and the number of applications, SOAP and REST API will grow -Interfaces to form the final secure bridge for verification, with the most common modern software (using web services and system interfaces).

The Tokens public sale event, scheduled to begin on September 15, 2018, is characterized by the following:

Pre Sale: September 15, 2018

Public: October 15, 2018

End Token Sale: December 15, 2018

Maximum number of VIDT tokens: 100,000,000

VIDT cost: $ 0.20

Soft cap: $ 1,000,000

Hard cap: $ 8,000,000

The price of the token should be high enough to cover the operating costs of the V-ID, including the transaction fee for Ethereum and Bitcoin.

LocalBitcoinCash Added Bitcoin SV. Android/iOS Mobile Apps Coming Soon.

We are pleased to announce that all users have been credited with Bitcoin SV (BSV) based on their Bitcoin Cash balance prior to the fork. As a business, we prefer to be neutral to the event so we disabled trading to prevent users from dumping BSV on our exchange. However, users may withdraw their BSV to their own wallet and do as they prefer. As BCH ABC has the most proof of work, they get to keep the BCH ticker.

Unfortunately, we don't have a BSV icon so if anyone has them, please send us a message. Otherwise, we have to use the most famous BSV face as the BSV logo for now. https://localbitcoincash.org/?action=showSupportedCryptocurrenciesFrame

Sorry about the delay in launching the mobile apps. Originally, we wanted to build native apps that communicates via web services to our database, mainly for security reasons, but the workload has exceeded our capacity to deliver. Therefore, we are taking some shortcuts and the mobile apps should be live by next month.

LocalBitcoinCash is committed to spreading Bitcoin Cash as decentralized permissionless peer to peer cash for the world. We are in it for the long haul.

HashFables Token (HASH)

Hello all,

We are almost hesitant to post this as there is a lot of activity on the TronScan DEX and new tokens are popping up like crazy, while this is one of them, we like to believe that we do not have the same intentions as many of the others. With that said, please read our token issuance and governance document to understand a bit more about how these tokens are to be used in the future and our steps to prevent devaluation or dilution. Most importantly, HashFables does not provide financial advise and the HashFables token (HASH) is not an investment vehicle and should not be used for speculative investment. This tokens sole purpose is to facilitate the development and use of new Tron based blockchain games and tools.

HashFables Token (HASH)

What is Hash Fables?

HashFables is a Tron based blockchain collective, composed of a few friends from across the world, working to bring new innovations to the Tron ecosystem.

The primary purpose of HashFables is to provide entertainment to our team members and the Tron community as a whole. As such, the scope of our products varies significantly based on what we find is missing from the community, what people are asking for, and personal projects we find interesting.

Here is a table of some of our projects, past, present and future.

Project Name Type Centralization Description Status Target Date
TRXGen Tools Decentralized A TRX Vanity address generator written in Javascript Completed July 2018
TRXRecovery Tools Decentralized A script used to recover private keys containing a single typo. New features will include multiple typos. This has already recovered over 500K TRX that we've been thanked for Completed July 2018
BlockLocks Game Decentralized An economic gambling game with a shared jackpot WIP April 2019
SmartCrontract Tools Centralized A blockchain automation and alerting platform, including event listeners, triggers, and actions. WIP June 2019
TronsDons Game Decentralized A turn based game, where players form teams to compete in organized crime WIP Jan 2020

Please note that there are various members working on these projects, all of which have full time jobs, some with families. We do our best to fulfil our promises on timelines, but in the end of the day we are humans and have human things happening. Some of these projects will be broken into multiple phases, including private and public betas, limited functionality, etc. To get more detail on each project and their individual roadmaps, please visit the project's page.

What is the purpose of the HASH token?

We have recently issued HashFables token on the Tron network, identified by the name HASH. This token was created in order to give team members, beta testers, community members, and other interested parties a way to become involved in the lifecycle of the HashFables umbrella at an early stage, and to give us a way to market some of the work we are doing.

We plan on using the HASH token for all transactions, functions, rewards, and fees for the various HashFables projects. The token is currently an TRC10 token, to allow for easy management and development of a more robust TRC20 (or other) smart contract. In this document, we will give an overview of our plans for token issuance and governance, which may be subject to change. We will be allowing all early token holders the ability to vote in how the token is governed to an extent. Details on voting are yet to come, we need to find a balance between community drive and brand integrity.

Please note that any migration from TRC10 to TRC20/other will be distributed 100% proportionate to the existing token!

The exact usage of the HASH token for each project will vary based on the nature of the project and the best way to integrate the token. As such, we cannot guarantee that all HashFables projects will use HASH exclusively, but it is our goal to use it whenever possible, based on technical limitations and maintaining an excellent user experience.

In addition, the value of a HASH token in a HashFables project may or may not be independent of the current market rate depending on the use case. For games with abstracted values, such as BlockLocks, the value of an in-game unit will always be tied to 1 HASH token, regardless of price. For our Smart Crontract automation platform, you will be able to pay fees with HASH. These fees will be based on market rate, network congestion, and third party service pricing.

We plan on submitting an application to have the HASH token listed on multiple exchanges, once we believe our projects are in a position to offer value to the Tron Network and Community. The timing of this is at the discretion of the HashFables team in order to preserve brand integrity, though we always value the input of the community and token holders.

Initial Token Offering

  • Our HASH token is going live on November 18th, 2018 for direct purchase via the Tron network.
  • The price is currently pinned at 10 TRX per 1 HASH during the offering event.
  • The offer is open from November 18th, 2018 to January 19th 2019, approximately 60 days.
  • The offer is limited to 1,000,000 tokens. The other 9,000,000 tokens are frozen until after the event ends.

Post Offer Distribution

Once the initial token purchase phase is complete on January 19, the next phase will be initiated and additional tokens will be issued in accordance with our governing policy. The exact details of the policy are still being defined, but they will follow the spirit of the project which can be defined roughly as follows:

  • A total of 10,000,000 tokens have been created, in which 5,000,000 are to be frozen for a period defined by existing token holders for future reserves.
  • Of the remaining 5,000,000 tokens available, the distribution will follow the below table as close as possible.
Phase Governance Value
Initial Token Offering Confirmed 1,000,000 Max
Development Team Confirmed 500,000 Max
Promotional/New User Air Drop Vote 1,000,000 Max
Partnerships and Payments Vote 1,000,000 Max
Frozen for Future Devs Vote 500,000 Max
Unallocated / Frozen Vote 1,000,000
Max Circulating Supply 5,000,000
Minimum Frozen Supply 5,000,000

Team Commitments: The HashFables team is committed to the long term outlook of the Tron network and the HashFables community. We are intending to keep as many tokens frozen as needed, and preserving the tokens for future use as best as possible. As such, we will NOT mint new tokens unless voted upon and distributed to existing holders proportionately. We will NOT unfreeze tokens without voting by existing token holders and the community. We will NOT sell tokens marked for freeze, promotion, development, or partnerships beyond the minimum necessary required for development purposes.

Our team holds each other to the highest standards and plans to distribute development tokens on a fair and transparent basis, eventually controlled by a smart contract with the possibility of allowing the community to reward and penalize the team based on their work and behavior, such as rewarding exceptional community support and project delivery, or penalizing for negative impact such as hostilities or dumping of personal tokens without prior community approval. We are committed to 100% transparency in both the projects actions and individual contributors actions to the extent that they impact the project.

Investment Strategy

HashFables is an Open Source, community driven team, platform, and set of tools. We created this token as a means to spur community involvement, marketing, and having a single constant store for projects across the platform. HASH is NOT an investment vehicle! Please do NOT purchase this token as a speculative investment! We strive to keep this project alive and thriving and have community governance, but people do make mistakes, have delays, or have other unforeseen issues. Please do not buy these tokens unless you understand what we are trying to do here and want to support our team. This is not Bitcoin at $0.001, this is a utility token that may never be worth anything in the future! Seriously, don't mortgage your house to buy these things!

1. General questions

Where can I download the Monero wallet?

There are multiple Monero wallets for a wide range of devices at your disposal. Check the table below for details and download links. All wallets listed below are open source. Attention: for extra security make sure to calculate and compare the checksum of your downloaded files.

Desktop wallets

Wallet Device Description Download link

Web-based wallets

Wallet Description Link
MyMonero Web version of the MyMonero wallet. All versions have interoperability. Web
XMRWallet Web wallet with TOR support. ⚠️ Relatively new - use with caution! ⚠️ Web / Onion URL

How long does it take for my balance to unlock?

Your balance is unlocked after 10 confirmations (which means 10 mined blocks). A block is mined approximately every two minutes on the Monero network, so that would be around 20 minutes.

How can I prove that I sent a payment?

The fastest and most direct way is by using the ExploreMonero blockchain explorer. You will need to recover the transaction key from your wallet (complete guide for GUI / CLI).

How do I buy Monero (XMR) with Bitcoin (BTC)?

There are dozens of exchanges that trade Monero against Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Check out the list on CoinMarketCap and choose the option that suits you best.

How do I buy Monero (XMR) with fiat?

  • Kraken (USD and EUR): old-school, decent exchange. They might require your documents for verification and approval of your account.
  • LocalMonero: peer-to-peer exchange. They have pretty much everything as a payment method and they support hundreds of fiat options.

How do I mine Monero? And other mining questions.

The correct place to ask questions and discuss the Monero mining scene is in the dedicated subreddit r/MoneroMining. That being said, you can find a list of pools and available mining software in the GetMonero.org website.

2. Wallet: CLI & GUI

Why I can't see my balance? Where is my XMR?

Before any action there are two things to check:

  1. Are you using the latest available version of the wallet? A new version is released roughly every 6 months, so make sure you're using the current release (compare the release on GetMonero.org with your wallet's version on Settings, under Debug info).
  2. Is your wallet fully synchronized? If it isn't, wait the sync to complete.

Because Monero is different from Bitcoin, wallet synchronization is not instant. The software needs to synchronize the blockchain and use your private keys to identify your transactions. Check in the lower left corner (GUI) if the wallet is synchronized.

You can't send transactions and your balance might be wrong or unavailable if the wallet is not synced with the network. So please wait.

If this is not a sufficient answer for your case and you're looking for more information, please see this answer on StackExchange.

How do I upgrade my wallet to the newest version?

This question is beautifully answered on StackExchange.

Why does it take so long to sync the wallet [for the first time]?

You have decided to use Monero's wallet and run a local node. Congratulations! You have chosen the safest and most secure option for your privacy, but unfortunately this has an initial cost. The first reason for the slowness is that you will need to download the entire blockchain, which is considerably heavy (+70 GB) and constantly growing. There are technologies being implemented in Monero to slow this growth, however it is inevitable to make this initial download to run a full node. Consider syncing to a device that has an SSD instead of an HDD, as this greatly impacts the speed of synchronization.

Now that the blockchain is on your computer, the next time you run the wallet you only need to download new blocks, which should take seconds or minutes (depending on how often you use the wallet).

I don't want to download the blockchain, how can I skip that?

The way to skip downloading the blockchain is connecting your wallet to a public remote node. You can follow this guide on how to set it up. You can find a list of public remote nodes on MoneroWorld.

Be advised that when using a public remote node you lose some of your privacy. A public remote node is able to identify your IP and opens up a range for certain attacks that further diminish your privacy. A remote node can't see your balance and it can't spend your XMR.

How do I restore my wallet from the mnemonic seed or from the keys?

To restore your wallet with the 25 word mnemonic seed, please see this guide.

To restore your wallet with your keys, please see this guide.

3. Wallet: Ledger

How do I generate a Ledger Monero Wallet with the GUI or CLI?

This question is beautifully answered on StackExchange. Check this page for the GUI instructions, and this page for the CLI instructions.

4. Nodes

How can my local node become a public remote node?

If you want to support other Monero users by making your node public, you can follow the instructions on MoneroWorld, under the section "How To Include Your Node On Moneroworld".

How can I connect my node via Tor?

This question is beautifully answered on StackExchange.
