In two months, Ukraine will elect its next president. Who will be chosen and how will the life of ordinary citizens change after that is hard to say.
And, although the registration of candidates is not yet finished, now we can clearly identify the top three, who will argue for entering the second round. This is the current president Petro Poroshenko, the leader of the Batkivshchina party, Yulia Timoshenko, and former actor and showman Vladimir Zelensky.
What can we say about the leaders? Petro Poroshenko has his own political party with an established political program. It's main theses can be called "Language, army, faith." The electorate of the current president is clearly formed, but does not allow him to get closer to the leadership and in the intermediate ratings he is constantly in third place. His election results directly depend on the situation in society. And it brings bad news to Petro Alekseevich . Social guarantees for the population are less and less, tariffs for utilities and prices are rising before our eyes. The state is on the verge of default because of huge debts to creditors.
The situation on the personal front is much better for the head of the state. During the presidency, he subdued the courts, stretched the ATO for 4 years (he promised to finish it in one or two years), became richer by 7 times, made his son a deputy, and the godfather the prosecutor, built the new Roshen plant. P. Poroshenko can boast of the introduction of a visa-free regime with the EU, the consolidation of the Euro-Atlantic course of Ukraine at the state level and the acquisition of the Tomos of autocephaly by the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
At present, the president’s managerial style can be described as "whoever is not with us is against us." According to this principle, campaigning in state institutions, including the army, the education system, etc., begins. In these spheres, the head of state has enough leverage to encourage state employees to take his side.
The election program of Yulia Timoshenko’s "New Deal of the Country" proposes the introduction of a new "people's" constitution, economic course, world strategy and ecosystem of human life. It is proposed to create new, fair rules of life and their approval by the citizens of the country. Most of the ideas of the "New Deal" are innovative, relevant and necessary for Ukraine.
Many of the promises are clearly populist. For example, one of the first bills in the event of the election of Yulia Vladimirovna as president should be an initiative to reduce the price of Ukrainian gas for Ukrainians twice. And she assures that this can be done within a month after her coming to power. Among Yulia Timoshenko’s promises are also the return of Donbass, the struggle for the return of Crimea, the creation of fair courts, the elimination of corruption, the increase in social guarantees for the population, the reduction of utility bills ......
However, the analysis conducted by the "Word and Case" group shows that during her political career, Timoshenko made 292 promises, of which 77 fulfilled, and 93 failed. Another 122 of her promises are in the process of fulfillment. That is, the politician was able to realize 26% of their obligations. In the overall rating of the responsibility of people's deputies of Ukraine, Timoshenko ranks 277th (between Oleg Lyashko and Sergey Kaplin).
The main feature of the pre-election program of the showman Vladimir Zelensky is a bias towards direct democracy. He spelled it all out in simple words in a few sentences. Maybe due to this fact he entered the first position in the intermediate ranking. And, frankly speaking, I want to believe him. But!!! The actor has revealed an undeclared business in Russia, real estate and foreign accounts. However, like all other candidates.
All the candidates are united by one thing - it is the holy dollar (well, or the euro), a ringing coin in its own wallet or bitcoin on a virtual account. All the same, in whatever form, if only for themselves. Therefore, it is unlikely that the parties will refrain from buying votes and frauds with the voting results.
Personally, I vote for a certain faceless candidate. Let him be in a black mask, balaclava and embroidery, but fulfilling his promises, at least by half. Maybe this is too fantastic, but I am for someone who will invest their assets in the national economy, and not in the offshore companies whose family will live and work in the country.

Hi there guys, I posted this to /r/BitcoinCA and to /r/QuadrigaCX2. Because not all readers check those reddits, though, and because the below post is definitely relevant to all readers of this reddit, I wanted to share it here directly.
I recently saw some posts on /r/QuadrigaCX and /r/Buttcoin regarding clawbacks after this exchange insolvency. Basically, what was being suggested is that people who were able to withdraw from Quadriga may have those funds clawed back by the government so that Quadriga's assets could be more evenly distributed among those affected.
I recently lost about 122 ETH on Quadriga. I transferred about $20K worth of ETH to Quadriga to cash out. This ETH was immediately sold for $CAD, which I then tried to cash out by wire transfer. I had successful wire transfers in May 2018, totalling $1.4M CAD (after being an early adopter to ETH in Feb 2017).
A couple of weeks later, I noticed that the $20K wire transfer had been canceled, and the $CAD was deposited back to my Quadriga account. At this time, I purchased 122 ETH, and tried to get it off the exchange. These ETH were never deposited to my requested address, and are likely gone for good.
After reading about the potential clawbacks, I did some reading about Canadian bankruptcy laws. It seems like Quadriga has been run like a Ponzi scheme since at least Fall 2018. Although my 122 ETH are likely gone for good, I wanted to see what my liabilities were for the $1.4M that was withdrawn in May. Although losing $20K stings, having $1.4M clawed back would be disastrous. To try to find some piece of mind, I did some digging. I should mention that I am not a lawyer, and only have a layperson understanding of this field.
Firstly, I looked to see what the actual laws were. There is a very handy article which outlines the criteria that must be evident for a person who successfully withdrew from a Ponzi to potentially face clawbacks. They are:
1) The debtor was insolvent at the time of the withdrawal
2) The transaction took place during the applicable statutory review period, and
3) the transaction was taken with a view to giving that creditor a preference over other creditors as discussed in more detail below.
If any of these three factors are not valid, then a person who successfully withdrew crypto or $CAD from Quadriga has nothing to worry about from clawbacks. If, however, all three points are valid, then clawbacks may come into play.
In my case, I think it goes without saying that Quadriga is insolvent (and possibly has been since June 2017) As such, it's a given that criterion 1 was valid when I made my large withdrawal. Also, although I had no way of knowing in May that my withdrawal might be giving me preferential treatment over other users of Quadriga, it's possible that criterion 3 was also valid in May 2018. To determine my risk of having $1.4M clawed back, I tried to delve more into criterion 2.
The article I sourced above discusses what the appropriate lookback period is for different types of users of Quadriga. I believe that the "lookback period" is the same as the "statutory review period", which is the central aspect of criterion 2. This article suggests that:
The applicable lookback period will be three months from the initial bankruptcy event (being the date of bankruptcy, BIA proposal proceedings or CCAA proceedings, as applicable) if the creditor receiving the alleged preference was dealing at arm's length with the debtor, or one year from the initial bankruptcy event if the creditor receiving the alleged preference was not dealing at arm's length with the debtor. Related persons are deemed not to be dealing at arm's length with one another absent evidence to the contrary. With respect to unrelated persons, it is a question of fact whether they were dealing at arm's length at any particular point in time. Two parties will be deemed to be related if they are under common de jure control of the same entity or group of entities.
In connection with arm's length transfers, transactions that have the effect of giving a creditor a preference during the avoidance period are, in the absence of evidence to the contrary, presumed to have been made with a view to giving such creditor a preference. The transferee/creditor must establish that there was no dominant intention on the part of the debtor to prefer one creditor over another, based on an objective assessment of the debtor's circumstances at the time the debtor made the alleged preference.
In connection with non-arm's length transfers, the debtor's intention during the avoidance period is irrelevant - one only considers whether the impugned transaction had the effect of giving the transferee/creditor a preference over other creditors.
Clearly, there are two separate types of users of Quadriga: Arms Length and Non-Arms Length. At first I wasn't too sure what the definition of an "arms length transaction" was. Fortunately, I found this helpful definition:
An arm's length transaction is one in which the buyers and sellers of a product act independently and do not have any relationship to each other. The concept of an arm's length transaction assures that both parties in the deal are acting in their own self-interest and are not subject to any pressure or duress from the other party. It also assures third parties that there is no collusion between the buyer and seller.
My interpretation is that almost all users of Quadriga were arms length creditors. The only exceptions to this might be those who had a close relationship with the exchange, and may have been privy to the solvency issues or pending exit scam.
I believe that Quadriga filed for CCAA protection on Jan 31. Based on what I can tell, all withdrawals made after Oct 31, 2018 might be subject to clawbacks. Withdrawals made after Jan 31, 2018 by those who could have inside information (ie, not arms length) may be subject to clawbacks.
Although this was reassuring to me (as I wouldn't have to sell my house and all other assets to cover my $1.4M withdrawal), I felt it would be wise to post it here. To all those who withdrew significant amounts of value from Quadriga after Oct 31, it may be wise to contact a lawyer.
TLDR: If you took crypto or fiat out of Quadriga since Oct 31, 2018, you might have to pay that amount back.

One of the biggest cryptocurrency exchanges in Canada, QuadrigaCX, has been beset by a series of woes that have culminated in an intractable situation for users.
First 25.7 million Canadian dollars were seized from QuadrigaCX by the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CBIC). This caused indefinite withdrawal delays for some QuadrigaCX users. QuadrigaCX apparently won a court case to return the money seized by the CBIC, but QuadrigaCX is having a difficult time getting the money into its bank account. While all of this is going on, the CEO and founder of QuadrigaCX, Gerald W. Cotten, supposedly died in India on Dec. 9 2018.
Apparently Cotten had exclusive control of the private keys for 26,488 Bitcoin (BTC), 11,378 Bitcoin Cash (BCH), 11,149 Bitcoin SV (BSV), 35,230 Bitcoin Gold (BTG), 199,888 Litecoin (LTC), and 429,966 Ethereum (ETH), with a total value of $190 million.
QuadrigaCX is claiming in a court document that these funds cannot be recovered at this point, since Cotten’s laptop that holds the keys is fully encrypted.
QuadrigaCX users are suspicious for multiple reasons, with many users on the QuadrigaCX subreddit calling this is an obvious scam. Apparently QuadrigaCX admins are censoring the subreddit, so a new censor-free subreddit has been created, and it is filled with scam accusations.
QuadrigaCX did not publish a list of cold wallet addresses, and users are requesting that QuadrigaCX publish a list of addresses to end suspicion. Users are looking for the cold wallet addresses to see if they are truly inactive.
One user claims to have found QuadrigaCX’s Litecoin (LTC) cold wallet addresses, and claims these addresses are actively being liquidated. It cannot be confirmed at this time that these Litecoin (LTC) addresses are the true QuadrigaCX cold wallet addresses however.
Further, the details and timing of Cotten’s death are suspicious. Apparently the death happened on Dec. 9, which was right in the middle of the legal battle with CIBC. The supposed cause of death is Crohn’s disease, which is usually not fatal.
Cotten was only 30 years old. A death certificate was attached to the court document, but it is not an official death certificate. It is a statement of death from a funeral home. QuadrigaCX users called the funeral home and did not receive an answer. The funeral home’s database did not have a record of Cotten’s death.
Additionally, the official QuadrigaCX statement on Cotten’s death says he went to India to build an orphanage. This statement was deleted from the QuadrigaCX site, but it has been saved by an internet archive. It does not make much sense that Cotten was building an orphanage when he was in the middle of a court battle, while QuadrigaCX customers were suffering due to fiat withdrawal delays.
A cryptocurrency exchange like QuadrigaCX should have had protocol in place to recover cold wallets in the event that Cotten died, especially since Cotten was traveling all the way to India. Many users point out that if Cotten was dying from Crohn’s disease that he would have time to transfer ownership of the cold wallets before death.
An extremely suspicious fact is that Cotten signed his will only two weeks before supposedly dying, right before going to India to build the orphanage. In the will, Cotten left $100,000 to his dogs and put his wife in charge of his estate.
Another major issue is that QuadrigaCX remained opened for deposits of fiat and cryptocurrency well after Cotten’s death, despite exchange admins having the knowledge that the cold wallets had become inaccessible. QuadrigaCX should have suspended deposits immediately upon notice of Cotten’s death instead of waiting over a month.
With this scenario unfolding, It is no wonder that numerous customers are calling QuadrigaCX a scam. Crypto.IQ will update on this situation when more definitive evidence is posted.

If you consider a rushed job in a sloppy azz kitche to be "perfect". The ingredients are pre prepped--its not even from scratch and they are mass produced meaning very little love given to each piece. It may look nice and all for the gif but the taste would be a different story. 🤮

I know you're being sarcastic but... Honestly, what's wrong with multiple people spamming the same piece of content on a subreddit when it's big news? Elon Musk is big news, will probably do more for the advancement of the homosapian race in this generation than you or any other human ever will this millenium. Logistically, the Reddit algorithms use a very complicated mathematical structure (i've studied this) and if there is a lot of the same post on a subreddit, then it boosts that subreddit to the top in the eyes of the Reddit computers, and more people see it.
Along with that, re-posting makes sure that if someone goes to a subreddit they don't miss the important post because it is now "buried" algorithmically and hidden from view to users. With their annoying and childish cries of "reposting" and "saturated content" (like yours), it's obvious that the lay-man underappreciates what I've called a passion of mine for many years in university now: Science.
Biology, chemistry, neurophysics, astronomy, and even psychology are going to be the things that drive our world forward, and if you only knew enough to be able to appreciate that science must take first seat when it comes to exposure you'd be saying the exact same thing right there with me. You can keep your "anti-science" comments to yourself, because the technological state of affairs of the World is exponentialy more important than the variety of content on a Reddit "meme" subreddit, and if this sub doesn't recognize that then they're being both wrong and logically fallacious.

AMEN, facts are what matter in this day and age. I once had an appointment with my former teacher, who is ended up being my favorite teacher throughout high school, but at the time meeting him in private made me very nervous. I didn't realize I needed to go to the bathroom for most of the discussion, probably because, again, I was watching my every move, and I was too shy to ask where the bathroom was. I then had to leave, but the urge was so sudden and so intense that the ten minutes walk to the subway station, in itself, was a real nightmare. It was just the beginning of my sufferings, though. I noticed a public washroom near the station, and I rushed to it like I had never did to anything in my life. Turned out it was out of order, so I got on the tram thinking I'd end up being okay.
When I say that the ten-station journey to my homeroom was one of the most excruciating experiences of my life, I mean it. I could neither stand nor sit, not to mention, of course, thinking of anything else. I started sweating and making contortions, with people in the train started staring at me in genuine concern. The entire endeavor made me feel like shit the whole time it was happening, and I was genuinely worried that I'd tear a muscle if I went on for too long. It was like going from zero to one-hundred within the span mere minutes, and I wasn't at all prepare. I honestly don't know how on earth I'd even made it up to that point.
In my country, if you ask where the washroom is (as a female) others may make jokes about you at your expense, as there is a culture of shaming, privacy and "lady-like" behaviour, conservatism, etc. everywhere. Anyways, 30 minutes into the ride I started silently weeping and a man came up to me, asking if I was okay. I'd told him that I recently went through a breakup (because that explanation was better than the alternative, obviously) and that I'd be alright. I thanked him for his kind words and he went and sat back down.
I eventually got home and ran inside, feeling like I had a 100 pound belt attached under my skin. What came next was worse than I ever thought possible in my wildest dreams. I don't know why or how it happened the way that it did, but genuinely just want to never think about it again (and haven't for a long time). In a word, it's not something you see on Reddit everyday, and the phrase "that's enough internet for today" comes into mind thinking back about exactly how it all went down. Brace yourself, as you have been warned and it's not my fault if you're grossed out and don't sleep tonight, but please remember that Net Neutrality has to be protected at all costs. Is it possible (probable even), plausible, conceivable, is there a high percentage chance that there could there be a dot, an iota, a speck (even the smallest one) of truth to the fact that, maybe, just maybe, there exists some capability, even a large capability (but at the very least a hypothetical one), a minuscule one, one that is the very opposite of gigantic, a hard-to-see, microscopic, capacity of sorts (that may even be missed upon first inspection), of any kind, biased, accidentally discovered, even undiscovered or hidden, that Keanu, the grisly, charismatic, extremely attractive man who is rich and famous, has prestige and reputation, oversees bureaucracies and shareholders, has some monetary or financial incentive, ulterior motivation, or underwhelming reason for he which he commits charitable, empathy-triggering, seemingly selfless and/or extremely donationary processes of the sorts and types he does take part in and supervise?
