Dark web drug dealers trying to MURDER ME (r/nosleep series)- update 2

12/16/18, 8:47 PM

---------------------

They're gone. Pretty sure they were just a couple of guys who needed to take a piss, but I gotta play it safe.

Where was I... the bomb. The catalyst for the situation I'm in now.

I wasn't able to get any sleep that night- I was tossing and turning, sometimes seeing hallucations of my death playing out different ways... would he truly "slice me and dice me", as he said, or would he use a gun?

Two hours later, at six, I decided to just give up on sleep and make the bomb. As I'm not trying to get into even more trouble with the cops than I am now (it has to do with the bomb), I won't list instructions on how to make one. Find that out yourself.

There's a 24-hour Home Depot near where I live, so I headed over and picked up the supplies. All the while shopping, I got the sense that I was being watched. Not the usual paranoia you get from the dangling security cameras in your face, but every time I turned around I saw an employee glancing away from me. Could they know I wasn't planning to return the money, and have hired Home- never mind, I said. I hightailed it out of there, having spent over $600 on the equipment.

Skip the bomb-making part- I realised I needed something to trip the fuse when Beta and his minders walked in my house. Again, I'm not trying to get extra charges tacked onto my sentence if I'm ever arrested, so I will skip this part. Suffice it to say it was surprisingly easy to do. Only problem... I couldn't leave my house either. That door was the only way out, except for the fire escape, which had a fifteen foot drop at the bottom. I steeled my nerves, realising that it was better to have a couple injured limbs than to have a few dismembered ones.

I experienced a moment of short-lived nostalgia, remembering all the events that had happened in that little flat. Deflowering my ex-girlfriend, accidentally setting off the over-sensitive smoke detector due to my rather frequent cannabis habit.... Believe me, leaving was hard. It really was, but I remembered what would happen if I stayed. I didn't want my last memory of the place to be watching a knife swinging towards my throat.

I returned to the laptop's resting place and tenderly packed it and the now-empty money drive in my old rucksack, which was a far cry from the $4,000 Louis Vuitton home it had once lived in. I decided to leave my shit old Dell clunker back at the flat, since who knows if they had hacked it and were tracing it?

At that moment I realised I had no plans for my escape. Feeling defeated, I sat on my old couch until a thought hit me- where do you hear about all those criminals going to hide out and launder money post factum? The Carribbean! If it was good enough for criminals, I figured it was good enough for me.

Invigorated, I pulled out my condemned Dell and immediately bought a ticket to Dominica, a place known for its lax immigration laws and lack of income tax or reporting. That made it a mecca for money launderers and criminals on the lam, something I would soon be. Well, I'd be a criminal as soon as I blew Beta into subatomic bits.

Since I had drained my bank account the week prior, I resorted to using the stolen drug money to pay for the ticket. Bitcoin was anonymous after all, and couldn't be traced back to me. Right?

No. That transaction had alerted them to the fact I had bought a plane ticket, where the plane was headed... and who was on it.

I didn't know it at the time, but that ticket had sealed my fate. (I'm still using it to fly, and I'm praying on the hourly for a miracle from God that will allow me to leave without harm.)

The plane was set to leave in four days time, meaning Beta would be dead for one day before the plane left to take me to the place I would live out the rest of my days in peace. I couldn't let this go to shit.

Alright, skip three days. I had (checking my knockoff Rolex) seven hours until Beta's ultimatum came to fruition. I didn't know how long it would take him or his shooters to get to my house, but considering the speed with which they delivered that threat, I wasn't going to take any chances.

I spent those last seven hours praying, which I hadn't done in years up to that point.

*BANG*

Sure enough, someone was knocking at my door. I tentatively asked who it was (knowing full well that it was Beta). No one answered, though I heard the sounds of... whimpering? Dismissing the thought, I geared up to run out the fire escape and to freedom.

In the one split second before the door bomb went off, I saw a young man, about my age, sweating himself dry and carrying an expression that looked like a mixture of empathy and fear towards me. He was flanked by two tall, burly men who must have been minders.

"PLEASE HELP-"

BOOM!

I heard ringing in my ears. Sure enough, the bomb had done its job. I didn't stay around to wait for the cops to show up. I dashed out that fire escape and down into the road. I knew the way to O'Hare by heart, since my parents always used to take me there and lament over the fact that we couldn't afford nice vacations. I lived somewhat close by to my childhood home.

I might've looked a wee bit suspicious as I burst into the airport with just a ticket in hand and a knapsack on my shoulder. I accidentally pushed a few old ladies over in my hurry to get to the ticket counter.

They stamped my ticket, and it was off to Dominica. Or, so I thought.

I headed down to security. Shit! The bomb shrapnel! Oh lord, they're sure going to get me for this. I'll get locked up for the rest of my life in prison on terrorism charges, and one of Beta's bereaved friends can call in there to have someone shank me.

By some trick of God, I made it through security... and oh, shit, I think I see security now. Gotta go

A letter to the IDW regarding Patreon and other social media CEO ideologues.

These past 3-4 years or so I've seen social media morph into something complete opposite of what they once were. Today I'm seeing it being pushed hard in coding and in the video game industry, all the way out to comics now. There is currently a war on social media (which is the obvious one), linux (which is an open source operating system), and in the online video game community. Linux could have huge repercussions depending on the outcome, as a lot of stuff we use is built with linux and a lot of businesses use linux because it's free.

Social media is obvious, so I'll spare sources on those.

All of this is beside the point, but i just want to give everyone a feel for how far this is spreading.

Now lets discuss what I came here to talk about which is blockchain technology. In my opinion, the issue we're seeing is centralized entities slowly evolve with or without the consent of the general public. What ends up happening over time is these companies begin to lose touch with their consumers and it begins to go unchecked essentially due to the attention economy arms-race. So at best, we have a system that will cycle and repeat itself via centralized entities. New company starts, slowly turns into ideologically driven company, turns into something user base doesn't like, new company starts to compete with ideologically driven company, repeat. Centralization is at the core of most of the issues we see today. This is why decentralization may be the only real long term solution, which is what blockchain technology offers in many areas.

When most people hear the word blockchain they think of bitcoin, which was the first blockchain that went live back in 2009. Bitcoin is a transfer of value from A to B, or digital cash. Since its inception it has been self-sustaining and publicly governed via the bitcoin Proof of Work protocol. In a nutshell, anyone can buy mining hardware and start mining for the blockchain. Miners validate transactions and provide security for the network (more hashpower = more expensive 51% attack ). Their incentive to do so is being rewarded with bitcoin. Every block they mine they get rewarded with a number of bitcoin. Thus creating a decentralized transfer of value with no corporation or government oversight, all the work is done by the public including updates to the protocol. Miners get to vote on BIPs with their contributing hashpower to the network.

The next step we've seen in the blockchain space was Ethereum which used the underlying blockchain technology of bitcoin, and create their own decentralized world computer essentially by adding in smart contracts/programming languages into the blockchain. This allows decentralized applications (dapps) entirely to be built on top of the blockchain, creating their own self-sustaining publicly governed applications. The most valuable things Ethereum has to offer are DApps and DAOs (decentralized autonomous organizations). What this allows is for the Ethereum network to have layers, the Ethereum protocol will have its own rules and protocols as far as governing/validating transactions for it, which is the layer 1. The DApps/DAOs will then have their own rules and protocols for the same things which is the layer 2 which is all determined by the DApp/DAO itself. I would like to give some DApps I think the IDW should look into certainly, then other stuff that's currently unusable or has a cool concept.

The first one is BAT Basic Attention Token/Brave Browser which is targeting the ad/attention economy, as well as patreon inadvertently. The brains behind all of this is Brendan Eich -- creator of javascript and founder of Mozilla Firefox. SJW culture had also already infected in firefox which led to him getting fired..

Here is Brendan Eich giving the new decentralized attention economy rundown -- https://vimeo.com/209336437

The Brave Browser and the Basic Attention Token will in a duo to get the current ad model back to sanity. Brave Browser blocks all ads/trackers natively. There is also very big emphasis on privacy beyond that built (or being built) into the browers. It is a fork of the Chromium (Google Chrome) software which will incentivize developers to build on it, while also allowing compatibility with addons -- though vetting process will not be the same. They have private tabs, TOR (Onion browser) tabs, and are currently working on a built in VPN for maximum privacy. Here are my Brave stats for ~1 year of use -- https://imgur.com/a/t3pWBP3

The BAT token comes in as the value for the decentralized ad ecosystem. Consumers will have the choice to opt in or out of ads on their system. If they choose to allow them, they will be rewarded with BAT tokens. The browser will help learn about what ads would specifically be valuable to you but not mine your data. Users will then give BAT back to their favorite content creators. I have personally participated in 5 separate payments throughout the year, right now they offer a lot of free promo BAT to give away so if interested definitely check out the Brave Browser and look in >Settings >Payments and you can mess around and earn free promo BAT tokens. You can send directly to websites, including specific YouTube channels.

List of all verified publisher websites -- https://batgrowth.com/publishers

Getting started on becoming a verified publisher -- https://brave.com/publishers/ -- The only two who I support that are verified are Bret Weinstein and Dave Rubin. I still send to other IDW channels though because they will be notified when they hit 100$ worth of tokens.

Whitepaper for much more technical overview -- https://whitepaperdatabase.com/basic-attention-token-bat-whitepaper/

E-commerce

The next area I want to talk about is e-commerce and blockchain. There are a couple I recommend looking into for invoicing on the blockchain. BitPay for bitcoin payments and Request Network for Ethereum and dapp token payments. What they offer is decentralization and basically a "Pay with PayPal" button for cryptocurrencies. They also track all the backend stuff like date, time, how much was spent, etc. Standard invoice/auditing but on the blockchain. So you don't have to deal with all the hassle of tracking and organizing your payments for tax purposes. In the future a lot of the accounting work will be automated by Request Network or other alternatives via smart contracts. Bitcoin sadly doesn't offer smart contracts but we might see some interoperability in blockchain very soon. The REQ token will be used for governance of the protocol and processing Request Network transactions. Giving the people who are invested in it say in what happens with the protocol.

Detailed rundown of Request Network -- https://coincentral.com/request-network-beginner-guide/

Whitepaper -- https://request.network/assets/pdf/request_whitepaper.pdf

Both of these could be tools utilized today, though adoption is still in it's very early stages. Now I will list other concepts that haven't fully emerged as usable but are either in alpha/beta/propriety closed development until done.

SingularDTV -- https://singulardtv.com/ -- Tokenize yourself. Make your own token that represents your work and have the public value it accordingly. Aimed to be a decentralized entertainment industry, it could impact anything from YouTube to Record/label companies in music.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQJeAE0KTnY -- YouTube video explaining the essence of this platform.

They will have a lineup of applications for different functions but the SNGL token will be used as the governance token. Tokit is the first application where you can hold a sort of crowdfund for yourself, which you are able to do today -- https://tokit.io/

Peepeth https://peepeth.com/welcome -- Censorship resistant blockchain based twitter alternative

Steemit https://steemit.com/ -- Value based posting reddit alternative

Aragon I've heard Dr. Peterson speak about an autonomous education system and I believe he could potentially build one with proper developers. There is a DAO that is dedicated to DAO startups called Aragon, which is what I immediately think of when I hear him talk about a new education platform. Something self sustained and self governed. I'm not nearly smart enough to try and solve any game theory behind this but it could definitely be a starting point. They have already assisted multiple successful DAO startups such as district0x which is a DAO where people vote on developments. One of the first developments voted for was Decentraland which is a blockchain based VR world where you own the in-game property via tokens. So if nothing else is appealing in this list then I would suggest starting to build a DAO of your own!

TLDR; Centralization bad, decentralization good. Blockchain offers tons of decentralization.

Vanbex Labs Q&A with Founder Lisa Cheng

https://i.redd.it/ydonv25l8x421.png

Last Friday, we held a live Q&A session with our Founder, Lisa Cheng regarding any questions around our latest re-brand announcement. Our development and organization is evolving and Etherparty will now be officially called Vanbex Labs. We would like to thank everyone who sent in their questions regarding this exciting period on our Telegram channel. It's your support that drives us to deliver best-in-class products and services.

For those who did not have a chance to join us, below are the most important recaps.

What is the meaning of Labs in the new name?

The Vanbex Labs name comes from our desire to experiment, invent and develop with blockchain technology. Labs represents a bold and ambitious expansion on our services and products.

Can you tell us more about the security token platform?

Rocket 2.0 is in response to our anticipated shift in the market, as many of you know Etherparty was created out of Vanbex.

Our expertise has always been being first movers and innovators, to this end we are creating an autonomous security token platform that business as well as institutions will be able to use to create equities, asset backed assets on the blockchain our roadmap will include features such as voting, dividends, and payback

What’s the timeframe for Rocket 2.0 to arrive, many companies are busy with STO’s already.

There is certainly a lot of activity around Security Tokens out there which is great to see, clearly there is a very strong market need for platforms build around this new trend. Rocket 2.0 is well under way and will be released in early 2019, with features built to fit specific market demand.

What do you (Lisa) and Kevin see as the vision for Vanbex?

For myself I envision Vanbex's consulting division working with larger and more global projects, that leverage our historical experience of understanding the nuances in the blockchain industry

Our Vanbex Labs division will continue producing innovative solutions by leveraging the smart contract architecture that first originated with Rocket.

When will the rebrand kick in?

Rebranding is a lot of work, but we will be launching the new website and Vanbex Labs brand in Q1 2019.

Now that Etherparty is a part of Vanbex by name does the FUEL token get another function?

We definitely wanted to make sure there was no confusion around the role of FUEL, so thanks for bringing it up!

FUEL will actually be expanding as a Utility Token. As the projects and technology services of Vanbex Labs expand, so will the use of FUEL to power these services.

Do you think potential customers are waiting for Rocket 2.0 before they commit and launch?

Great question, although difficult to answer. We are always in meetings with new potential clients, and needs and requirements quickly evolve with the market. It’s hard to say definitely that X amount of customers are waiting, but the goal of Rocket 2.0 is to evolve to meet the needs of our current and future clients.

Also how is the adaptation to different blockchains coming along?

Thanks for the question! As you likely know, we currently support Ethereum and Bitcoin blockchains but have plans to expand. Right now we are considering the market fit and adoption for our next supported blockchain.

What are the plans for Vanbex reaching exchanges in India?

India is definitely a locale we have considered in the past, and continue to research into the future. We are always looking for the right exchanges to list FUEL, based on market demand and liquidity.

What is the plan or thought process for getting listed on Coinbase?

Great question. We are always exploring new exchanges for FUEL, but we need to make sure we are expanding at the right pace, into the right territories. We currently have a strong presence on Binance, which has been our focus.

We love coinbase, our relationship goes back a couple years and they have done lot for the blockchain/crypto industry. They are definitely on our radar, but we want to get the first version of Rocket 2.0 out and have them explore it.

The EU is a great market, have you thought about attending any events here?

We actually went to a ton of events over the course of 2018, some of the biggest in the blockchain space. European events are something we will look at for our attendance in the coming year.

Do you feel that you have been 100% transparent with us? If not, what are the reasons to hold things back?

Transparency is something that is extremely important to us and a we strive to keep the community informed of all the latest updates. However, our focus is always product development, which can lead to “downtime” between announcements as we work hard to build great things.

Could you elaborate on how those partnerships are coming along and what if any other partnerships are in the works?

Thanks for asking! Partnerships are something we are always pursuing, for our in-house products, clients, and business services. We are strong believers in the power of the blockchain community working together. There are several key partnerships we are working on behind the scenes, and as Vanbex Labs expands in the future expect to see news.

When do we get an updated roadmap?

An updated roadmap will be released in the near future, alongside more developments around the official Vanbex Labs rebrand.

How are Hero / Saturn coming along?

Hero and Saturn are still being explored internally from a market fit and brand perspective. Vanbex Labs is actually built to accommodate an expansion in product exploration and development, so there will be a lot more news around future products once the rebrand is completed.

How do you (Lisa) see Vanbex operating in the next few years?

That’s a tough question. The blockchain industry changes so much year-to-year. However, we are focused on keeping Vanbex at the forefront, especially when it comes to technology development. This is actually a big reason why we wanted to rebrand to Vanbex Labs, to focus on a broader set of products and blockchain tech services.

Do you have a plan on getting on Korean exchanges?

We are not exploring Korean exchanges right now, but this could change in the near future. We are always looking for new markets for our FUEL Token.

Other than the Security Token project, are there more projects in the pipeline?

That's a great question. Vanbex Labs reflects our intent to explore many new blockchain projects, including a front end API that allows different products to be built.

Recently yourself and Mr. Hobbs were making some great connections in China. Could you elaborate on how those partnerships are coming along and what if any other partnerships are in the works?

China was a very successful trip where we got to meet Canaan, our current partners, and community members. We built a relationship with Global Blockchain which is going strong today. We were also exploring the idea of operating Vanbex in China, but ultimately decided to stay in Canada.

Is a China expansion still possible in the future? Considering the importance of that market to the industry and all…

China is a market that we are certainly keeping an eye on. We will continue focusing our engagement and partnerships there. As for moving there, we have no plans for that currently.

How is the Qtum integration coming along?

Great question! Qtum was one of the partners we got to meet face to face in China. Our development team was engaged with them but had to table these integrations for now to focus on our future release. However, with the API we will then be able to support these types of partners more easily.

I'm a trader and initial participant of Etherparty pre-ICO. What I have noticed is the lack of interest, volume, and knowledge of the coin in the general public. What are you guys doing to bring more awareness to the general public?

Thank you for participating in our FUEL token sale and believing in the future of our technology. We are working to strategically bring more partners to the platform while building a dedicated infrastructure to support continuous application development. While there are a lot of loud projects in the space, our focus has always been blockchain technology and development. The truth is, a lot of our products and services are aimed at enterprise level customers, and not something we would typically be able to announce to the public.

What securities licences have you obtained or are in the process of obtaining in the future - what is the rough timeline for that?

As Rocket 2.0 will be providing software for companies to launch security tokens, our partner who has an EMD license will be the firm that facilitates the trading and selling of these assets.

What is Capiche?

Capiche is still early and we are looking at integrating them into the schedule around Q2 2019.

What’s the timeline on getting that API out? As Comet is Q1, Hero / Saturn are in the works (they will still take some time?).

The focus right now is the release of Rocket 2.0, and the API will be explored shortly afterwards. It’s a bit too early to specify a date, but we are looking at the first half of 2019.

It has been an amazing journey so far being at the fore-front of decentralized technology, and we can't wait to see what we can come up with next!

Help me understand the difference between a Bitcoin and stock market bust & boom cycles

I admit that I am an enthusiast. I have also invested in the stock market and real estate and took courses and read numerous books.

What I see here in many non-crypto subs is the following:

Bitcoin crashed, so it must be going to zero. Taking apart the fact that you may think it has no value and (an innovative technology) is similar to tulips(?) just looking at this asset graphs you can tell that:

Bitcoin is going through bust & boom cycles that everytime end up in a higher ATH. This is the 5-6th according to how you define it.

People think that stock market cycles are normal and never going to zero, in fact that when a stock market crash happens you should be buying. This is based on **historical data**.

If you like to base decisions on **historical data** then buying Bitcoin now makes it a great investment since it can reap rewards that can never happen in normal investing and it's what exactly **Taleb** describes in his book that you need to try and be in every black swan event (positive) that can happen. This is what he is talking about.

In any case since I am a programmer and I follow logical diagrams my point is this:

IF you think repeating market cycles that go higher every time are important THEN Bitcoin would be a good buy.

Instead what I read here is the opposite (irrational to me) argument that:

IF Bitcoin is crashing THEN it is going to zero.

I get it if you think that it has no value whatsoever though.

Help a new guy.

I've recently gotten interested in bitcoins. Is there a complete guide lying around anywhere and so you guys recommend faucets(I'm young and broke)

Thoughts on ''Relationship between Crypto and Fiat is that of co-existence and not competition''

Thoughts on ''Relationship between Crypto and Fiat is that of co-existence and not competition''

📷

https://coingape.com/vitalik-relationship-between-crypto-and-fiat-is-that-of-co-existence-and-not-competition/

Why people can't see we need both for it to even exist & make sense?

BTC and other Open, Public, Decentralized, Free-to-innovate, Permission-less & Censorship-Resistant are simply going to be what the users want them to be. Even in terms of when people say ''when people will stop using BTC and other cryptos as investments or trading or stocks blablabla'' This mentality is not understanding the Network Protocol at all. People are missing the point completely.

Neither the goal/point/vision of the internet was what it is today & gonna be tomorrow when it started (even 10-20 years after 1969)

The consensus/decentralization point is : if the platform is really Open & Decentralized, the protocol/system/platform is going to be what everyone inside wants it to be.

That is the promise of this Bitcoineth and yeah sometimes other shitcoins that might probably all need to go through the ruff path of forking/hacking/ICO-ing/scamming/uninterest followed by boom/constant badnews about terrorists & pornographers using it, before those cryptos obtain more robustness, resilience, privacy-inclusion & predictability maybe more from those events themselves than anything.

Some Networks protocols will maybe have only 2 users, or 1 user or all AI users, but yes this system will still matter and will exist in this space (even if only 2 users are using it and selling 100000000's of those coins for 2 pizzas)

We can all agree ''Replacing Fiat for Bitcoin'' would be terrible for most people (well maybe for some less terrible in some places than their actual national currency) and that it's the at all the goal of 1 or more Crypto? Don't tell me people won't accept crypto because you can't do this or that with it, it's programmable money. You can multi-sig, LN transact, and do millions of other things we still have no idea about that will happen with further dev. I see adoption as an underlyin technology like the fact Linux is in our cars, thermostat, lawnmoer, vaccum, almost all servers everyone/corporation/government use all across the globe.

McDonald did what chefs in restaurant does, but faster and for 1$ a burger and they sold billions. Does that mean chefs across the globe have no jobs anywhere, or that McDonald replaced all chefs? Maybe at a small %, but what really changed that was more automation when it arrived in industrial farms & packaging. Competition is needed in every aspect of our society, but like we know nowadays is protected by massive laws/regulations and governments.

Nowadays, tons of users only use ''free'' online services that they pay most of the time with constant micro-violation of their privacy. The point of internet & the funding of AI should not be into pushing more consumerism, it is everything AND that.

I don't think a lot of people figured that the internet would create the world we see today. I also not think people saw and opportunity to make everything more efficient in every aspect possible, and that would lead to liberating mankind with AI and by helping people having opportunities.

We all know corps & individual use Open Source linux because it is EMPOWERING, not only because it is free.

We need to focus on education, the best ''get rich slow scheme'' and work on how we can introduce decentralization of our daily life. I'm seeing interesting things in the Public Health. like it would have been the best thing to do about the internet/phone/automobile & all disruptive tech. lets top thinking about how price/state of cryptos will go to ''this'' or BTC will do ''that'' if Fiat money does this or that.

Maybe you or I see crypto as empowering and better than the current system, but this is only because we understand and see what the current system is. This is why it is disruptive, because we can see the infrastructure inversion of security and better/quicker/more programabble money, even for financial industries themselves. That's why we should aducate about why most people in the crypto-space since before 2017 worry about non-decentralized cryptocurrencies.

Australia began issuing loans secured by cryptocurrency. Read more below.

We present to you the report filed by the analysts of our private club for December 10–16, 2018.

Key market events in the period for December 10–16, 2018
1. A public organization based in Geneva announced the release of the first pan-African cryptocurrency AFRO, designed specifically to promote economic growth and social development of the entire African continent. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is interested in Ethereum blockchain. CFTC has requested public comments to 25 questions about the brainchild of Vitalik Buterin.
2. Revolut has received a banking license from the European Central Bank. In August, Revolut announced the launch of debit cards that support cryptographic transactions and enable cashback for purchases in cryptocurrency. The number of users of cryptocurrency has increased twofold over the last year.
3. A member of the UK parliament from the Conservative Party Eddie Hughes suggested using Bitcoin to pay taxes and utilities.
4. Australia began issuing loans secured by cryptocurrency. Loans are provided by Helio company, which received a credit license from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
5. The Israeli tax service imposes sanctions on citizens who evade taxes on income received from cryptocurrencies. The service has already opened several hundred accounts to store concealed revenues of crypto-tax dodgers.
6. The global volume of Bitcoin purchases on LocalBitcoins has reached the figures of the late 2017. The biggest demand on cryptocurrency is observed in Venezuela, Argentina and Russia.
7. The $50,000 hedge fund option of BlockTower Capital for Bitcoin expires on December 28. The company has bet $1 million that the price of Bitcoin would reach $50,000 by the end of 2018.
8. 16 new members have joined the blockchain consortium Hyperledger, among them are the division of the Chinese trading company Alibaba, the banking association Citigroup and the telecommunications provider Deutsche Telekom.
9. Shares of the chip and video card manufacturer Nvidia have dropped in price by 48% since the beginning of October. On October 1, the company’s shares were worth $289 each, but by December 13, their price dropped to $148.
10. The Status project team developing the Ethereum browser will be reduced by 25%. The management was not ready for the bear market.
11. One of the largest payment services in the United Arab Emirates UAE Exchange partnered with Ripple to create a blockchain money transfer system in Asia. According to the CEO of UAE Exchange Promoth Manghat, he expects the system to be supported by “one or two banks in Asia” compatible with the RippleNet payment network.
12. Kraken is getting ready for the closed sale of shares worth $4 billion, with offers starting at from $100,000. They really think high of themselves.
13. The founder of the cypherpunk movement and the author of The Crypto Anarchist Manifesto Timothy C. May has died.
14. Since November 2018, the Bitcoin hashrate has dropped by 31% — this is equivalent to 1.3 million Antminer S9 unplugged from the network.
15. For the first time, the CoBloX team traded ERC20 tokens from the Ethereum minenet for satoshi in the Lightning Network (LN) through an atomic swap!

2. Market analytics from club experts for December 10–16, 2018

Despite the relative stability in the market, the BTC prices and total capitalization kept on falling during the week. The total capitalization of the crypto market since the beginning of the week dropped from $115 billion to $100 billion on Saturday, but then it climbed a little higher to $104 billion. Trading volumes were relatively stable the entire week, reaching $11–14 billion a day without any significant fluctuations. BTC domination reached 60% and stopped at 50% by the end of the week. The price for 1 BTC gradually dropped from $3,600 on Monday to $3,270, climbing back to $3,520 in the middle of the week. The situation on the crypto market is ambiguous. There are many updates on upcoming blockchain projects, modifications of existing ones, various development and adaptation news. But at the same time, prices actually do not react to the news. In the bottom of crypto oceans, large holders transfer millions for a ridiculous commission, gaining more and more BTC and other altcoins from the Top10, buying them from the weak players. However, ordinary investors are leaving the ranks of the holders, believing there is no hope for “fast” money anymore. The need to ponder at least a little on their investments scared more than a dozen of unfortunate investors who eventually sold all their savings. Unwillingness to delve into peculiarities of crypto investments will lead to even greater losses during the attempts to hop on a new wave, which is coming soon.

The «buy-and-hold» strategy is relevant again, as it was in 2017!

Changes in the cost and capitalization of the TOP-10 cryptocurrencies in the period for December 10–16, 2018

https://i.redd.it/qi6qh98zzu421.jpg

  1. TOP-3 growing coins from the long-term portfolio for December 10–16, 2018 (including portfolio updates)

The last week showed a good growth. Best performing coins are Waves +48.9%, Syscoin SYS +26.8%, Mysterium Myst +24.5%. There are also Edgeless +16%, Nav +12% and others. All this on a bear market — you still doubt the cryptocurrencies have a great future?

https://i.redd.it/12tp8l21mt421.png

WHAT IS CRYPTOCURRENCY?

A cryptocurrency is a medium of exchange like normal currencies.Over the last couple of years ,crypto is acting like a magnet, attracting many people to it's side. Some of the reasons why crypto being the most intrested currency to invest are:

  1. Fraud proof: the currency is decentralized which means you own it, neither governmentnor any bank have control over it. you can invest or take out the money yourself at any time.
  2. Easy to access: one of the reasons are it is really easy to use. you just need a smartphone, internet connection and you can access superfast.

HOW INDIA WAS IMPACTED BY CRYPTO?A year ago,the Indian government decided to take harsh action against black money funds which was earned on black markets.Citizens of India were tensed about their savings and ended up investing in crypto. Not all the people invested but the ones who invested earlier, invested.Like this, India was impacted by the cryptocurrency.
