Really, Proof of Stake and Proof of Work are just different models in how to allocated the 'right' to mine a block.
A miners is someone who downloads the blockchain and adds block to it and are rewarded for this work. Its a general concept.
A Proof of Stake miner is given the right to mine 10% of the blocks if they are staking 10% of the coins. A Proof of Work miners is given the right to mine 10% of the blocks if they control 10% of the networks computational power.
However ATO treats POW Mining and POS Mining ( Staking ) differently. There is no hobby exemption for staking and it looks like you need to declare rewards as ordinary income - similar to if your are in the business of mining. Its not clear if you can deduct cost to run the full node and other expenses.

The ATO's as basically defining a car as a mode of transport powered by an internal combustion engine.
I hope, people can convince them to use the correct definitions - because treating staking like a business will basically mean its advantages to run the staking software on the cloud instead of your home computer so its easier to deduct costs from the staking 'income'. Calculating the market value for all rewards as they come would need to be automated by software and its not something you can do by hand... Its far easier to allocated all the rewards with a zero cost base and forget deducting costs ( which is allowed for hobby mining )

Pick whatever market and whatever product you’d like, create an account for that marketplace and proceed to checkout. Some require PGP keys and stuff like that but the ones that do usually show step by step how to do this and you won’t have an issue following it.
That’s about it basically, wait for your package and enjoy. This is only a rough guide, but I hope it helps those struggling with lockdown.

I think most people are not taking Moon seriously. Guys, I want you to think about how important and relevant is Reddit in the internet. Think about how much visibility this token has. What do you think will happen when it becomes available on exchanges? Moon has been designed to be scarce, with a supply capped at 250 million. A relatively low supply. These two factors combined are a ticking bomb. And the timing can’t be better. Supposedly Moon will migrate to mainnet in Q4 this year, then could we assume that Moon will be traded in exchanges starting at Q1 2021? Historically speaking, the effects of a bitcoin halving kick in 1-1.5 years after the event… this time that’s in 2021.
I guess most people don't care much about Moon because its limited features. Still beta. Testnet. It can only be used in Reddit. This may change in the future though and, in my opinion, this is a smart move. Releasing a token as a currency would have been a blunder if we consider what is happening with Facebook and Telegram. This way Reddit is keeping the regulators at bay.
As I said, Reddit is a powerhouse and that means that in terms of exposure Moon wins by a landslide. Overkill. Leaving a very few tokens aside, no altcoin can compete with Moon in exposure. Bull market hysteria will do the rest. If Moon becomes available in big exchanges, if Moon becomes tradeable, if Moon can be used out of Reddit, then the next year could be amazing for Moon owners. A couple dollars per token is not out of reach. We can just dream and let the internet do its magic :)
