1. Direxion has launched US ETF that offers managed short exposure to CME Bitcoin futures
Direxion, a leading exchange-traded fund (ETF) issuer, will launch a fund that will offer managed short exposure to CME Bitcoin futures contracts, the company said in a regulatory filing before the US Securities and Exchange Commission on October 26. The announcement comes a week after futures-backed ProShares Bitcoin Strategy ETF and Valkyrie Bitcoin Strategy ETF were launched.
2. US Government Is Auctioning Bitcoin Tokens Amounting to Over $300,000
US government-backed GSA Auctions is currently hosting an online Bitcoin auction called the “Fall for Cryptocurrency”. In this event, the federal US government is auctioning 4.94 Bitcoin tokens amounting to over $300,000 as per Bitcoin's current trading price of $63,925 (roughly Rs. 48 lakh) per token. GSA Auctions is a service of the US General Service Administration (GSA) that is responsible for clearing surplus assets held federally. This online auction began on Tuesday, September 26, and will conclude on Thursday, October 28. GSA Auctions posted details about the event on their region-focused Twitter handles.

A Thai department store chain is trialing its own cryptocurrency for use by employees with a view to offering it to customers in the future.
Central Retail Corp., Thailand’s biggest shopping center developer, is distributing its blockchain-based “C-Coin” to 80,000 employees on a merit basis to use as a substitute for cash in its stores, Bloomberg reported Thursday. The C-Coin may be expanded to customers once employee testing is complete.
