This week, we're off to the recently opened BrewDog on the first Thursday they will be open. Despite their famously punk attitude, we are told they have (in deference to the locale) included one beer tap where the price will rise or fall with the movement of the FTSE, while the rest of the beers are standard BrewDog pricing. You can pay by plastic or Bitcoin - such are the wonders of our age.
Space could be a bit limited for this one, so if you're planning on dropping by I would try and do so early.
I'll post my number and more precise/current location here on the day: <TBC>
Why do you guys meet?
We try to meet every Thursday for a natter and, of course, to enjoy the lovely views you get around Canary Wharf. There's no agenda and anyone is welcome.
Who tends to go?
We're generally a slightly older crowd (mid 20s upwards) than other Reddit meetups, often working in CW or the City, but we've had plenty of people of different ages dropping by from far-flung parts of the world and from all age groups. Not all of us are in finance roles (i'm not). We tend to get 8 to 15 people on a regular basis and all different nationalities.
I'm new to London/Reddit/just passing through for a week...can I come?
Absolutely! There's usually two or three new people each time, some of whom are just on work placements or holiday, as well as those who are new to London life or finding their way round the meet up scene for the first time. It doesn’t matter if you drink alcohol or not. You need to be over 18, and capable of behaving like an adult, but otherwise feel free to PM me any questions.
How do I get actually get there?
This is in Churchill Place, in that semi-circular building just after Waitrose. Anyone who attended our meetup at Rocket, it's the other side of that building. If you're walking along North Colonnade you'll see the big neon sign for BrewDog to guide you in.
Edit 1: phone number
Edit 2: location confirmation
