Summary of tonight's interview with Nikita on Twitch

Disclaimer before anyone jumps on it: Wipe wasn't mentioned at all.

The interview was in Russian, so my notes are based of Bakeezy's translation and other peoples' comments since I don't speak Russian at all lmao. All info comes directly from Nikita. It's a pretty short interview, if you want to watch it for yourself check BakeeZy's stream (https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1065281034) or the podcast itself directly (https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1065220785)

From BakeeZy's live translation stream.

  • There might be quests added that will involve elements of teamwork. They will be made so it's "logical" for it to be completed together with other people.
  • Changes in the game will be made with the entire playerbase in mind. They aren't interested in changing things just for the 1%. (Think whiney twitch streamers).
  • Animation being worked on for people getting knocked down, losing consciousness, and teammates restoring their teammate's consciousness.
  • Biggest problem with falling unconscious is that it's hard to make animations of that. For example, if you come unconscious on a staircase, it will look very stupid. But there needs to be a way to tell a difference between when you're dead and when you're unconscious.
  • In the future, when you report a cheater, it's planned for you to recieve a message if/when they're banned.
  • Nikita says in 10 years of game dev experience, he learned it's a bad idea to release game patches on Fridays or Weekends because everything can break and there'd be no one around to fix it. The best time to release a patch is apparently Wednesday or Thursday. wink wink smileyface.
  • There will be destroyable walls on ALL maps in the future. They will be implemented on Streets of Tarkov first, then placed on other maps. It will only be certain walls, as it's impossible for everything to be destructible. In the last teaser, it was only 1 building out of 140 on the map (!!!). Nikita says that ironically, it will probably work better on other maps than Streets.
  • Lighthouse is planned before Streets. It'll have 2 scav bosses, USEC's main base, and a lot of developers have been assigned to work on Lighthouse to get it finished. There will be a teaser for it prior to release.
  • Nikita thanked the people interviewing him for asking good questions, since he usually gets dogshit questions everyone already knows the answer to.

That's all he translated, so unfortunately that's all I got. Now, as I said, I don't speak Russian so I'm trusting BakeeZy on this one for his translation. If some of the information here is incorrect, please let me know or just leave a comment!

Other stuff that wasn't translated by BakeeZy, but I got from another Reddit post

  • Next patch will introduce more "hardcore mechanics"
  • A tutorial mission is planned.
  • Bitcoin as a bad gameplay mechanic is bad, but it's good as an event. (dunno what this means)
  • There will be more events like the one going on right now in the future.
  • Kappa is planned to be much harder to get.
  • You'll be able to enter and exit Labs from 2-3 different locatiosn in the future.
  • Scav Karma will affect the number of exfils you get as a scav. Will also affect insurance mechanics apparently, but there's no emphasis on that.
  • Apparently they're testing a future system for moving bosses between locations. I assume that's what they're doing now with these events.
  • Collimator red dots are being reworked. Comment said for 'next patch', so I guess 12.11 has an optics rework.

So that's all! If you guys pick up anything else, or if I got something wrong/left something out, please let me know or comment down below.

:D
