AMC Entertainment started accepting crypto
AMC Theaters CEO Adam Aron announced that the movie theater chain has begun accepting cryptocurrencies as a means of online payments.
Now customers have the opportunity to pay in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin. According to the statement, the company will add support for Dogecoin in the future.
AMC is the first cinema that makes a step towards crypto. This is due to the company's attempts to increase sales amid the pandemic since the company was on the verge of bankruptcy at the beginning of this year.

In a recent interview with DealBook’s Andrew Ross Sorkin, Citadel CEO Kenneth Griffin singled out environmental damage, slow transaction processing and fraudulent risks as the main disadvantages of BTC.
According to Griffin, Ethereum or another cryptocurrency based on its blockchain will have a less environmental impact and will be able to process transactions faster, allowing them to take over BTC.
