Lessons to be learned from "The gainsaying of Core":

Sometimes it is interesting the way words manifest themselves, and the way we can see similarities and parallelizations between history and current events. "The gainsaying of Core" refers to a verse in scripture in the New Testament Jude 1:11:

"Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core." Jude 1:11

So what is Jude talking about here? He is describing those men who have "crept in unawares" (Jude 1:4) into the Church. As Jude says these men were teaching false doctrines and believed not. They were turning the grace and gift of God into an occasion for the flesh. Jude brings his readers to remembrance of "how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not" Jude 1:5

"Core" as Jude mentions, refers to the old testament story of "Korah", an Israelite who challenged the authority of Moses in the Book of Numbers Chapter 16:

1 Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men:

2 And they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown:

3 And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?

4 And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face: (Numbers 16:1-4)

So Korah tried to claim that the whole congregation was as holy as Moses and that it was wrong for Moses to lift himself up higher than the congregation. Keep in mind this was the same Moses that God had chosen and revealed himself to, and Moses was described as the meekest man on the face of the whole earth: "(Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)" Numbers 12:3. The congregation had no place to question the authority of Moses. This should seem familiar, as it is very reminiscent of those in the "Core"-BTC cult who say "we are all Satoshi", worshiping statues that are very reminiscent of the golden calf made by Aaron for the Israelites to worship while Moses was gone too long on Mount Sinai. Similarly Satoshi was gone too long for the Core cult, and they began worshiping statues and changing his system. They despise Dr. Wright because they despise the natural authority he has over Bitcoin. It is a striking a very obvious parallel to "the gainsaying of Core".

This is what we see happening in the Bitcoin space, those turning the gift of Satoshi into a ponzi scheme pump and dump scam, only to satisfy their own short-sighted desires. Only to satisfy their pride, and sick delusion that they are as worthy as Satoshi himself. They think they understand Bitcoin better than the creator of Bitcoin, and it is the opposite of humility.

But we should learn a lesson of what happened to Core/Korah and their followers in the Old Testament:

31 And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them:

32 And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.

33 They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.

34 And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them: for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up also. (numbers 16:31-34)

I believe we will also witness a similar swallowing up of those who doubted Satoshi, and those who in their pride tried to usurp his system for their own power and desires.

Now in anticipation of the troll comments who say how dare I speak of the Bible relating to Bitcoin, I would just say that you are very foolish. First of all I am not saying Satoshi is God, or that Bitcoin is God, so stop making things up. Also the Bible is applicable to all areas of our lives, and especially Bitcoin where we have been involved in a very chaotic spiritual warfare for years. We need more God, we need more wisdom, we need more knowledge, not less. We need God on our side, we cannot be delivered from evil without the help of the Lord. We need to embrace God and his Word in these battles, not hide it away. "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:11-12
