This mf used the word "grassroots" to describe Riot ( the 1st or 2nd largest cryptomining company in the world) & insinuated our actual grassroots organization (Texas Coalition Against Cryptomining) is astroturfed. 😒
Our group is SPECIFICALLY non-partisan. We DO NOT DIVIDE OURSELVES WITH POLITICS, but at the "public" town hall, they made a point to say that Trump is pro-crypto & that our anti crypto advocacy is a "leftist agenda" driven by Elizabeth Warren & Joe Biden.
Pierre also made the usual gold-bug/ bitcon maxi talking points about the scarcity of bitcon. When he said that bitcon is transparent software and the FED is like secret, proprietary software, I laughed out loud.
Big bad gvnmt regulates money, but the "the people" regulates bitcon.

Texas is literally the energy capitol of the world & we are now the leader in renewable energy, YET OUR BILLS HAVE BEEN INCREASING SINCE CRYPTO CAME. Bitcoin Pierre explained this away as inflation.

Riot Platforms, getting .025 cents a kilowatt hour, is actually OVERPAYING because the Texas grid sometimes runs at negative pricing due to green energy.
Bitcoin Pierre stated that articles talking about cryptominer increasing pur bills are based on bad, opaque data & modeling. WE. DON'T. HAVE. GOOD. DATA. BECAUSE. THEY. REFUSE. TO. BE. TRANSPARENT. Researchers have to make best guesses based on current industry standards.
Instead he recommended a "study" by Texas A&M, who have a history of doing "Research" for the worst industries on the planet.
They've spent about $70k on whitewashing their reputation around town via donations to various charities & organizations.
They JUST went live with 100MW of Phase one & there is a woman suffering from light pollution.
There was a woman who spoke and said she could hear the miners, THEY GASLIT HER & said it couldn't be the ASICS because they're immersing cooled & only throwing off 60 decibels of noise. (LOW-FREQUENCY NOISE TRAVELS, Y'ALL!)
And there was a man who's land was taken via eminent domain to pay a 12" water pipe to the bitcoin "mine."
