Technology and how we as Catholics should move forward

I'll start by saying I am a Catholic which I guess would be obvious. Also I am a Catholic that has a love hate relationship with technology. Specifically digital technology. Bitcoin becoming one of my new love hate tech. And phones being my second. Technology was first introduced to us when Adam and Eve sinned. God had used skin from a animal to make them clothing. When they sinned they and us as a result started falling to are inevitable death. We are now vulnerable and naked. Easy to hurt and kill. Weak and powerless in the wilderness. So we started making things. Seems logical, what else are we to do? But as history has shown the more we event the more trouble we get into. The more we learn the more we fear. Space has probably been the one thing to drive us insane. The more we learn and discover the more we feel powerless to the never ending space with it's big black holes that eat everything including light itself. Meteors that can come our direction at any point. Solar flares that could fry us up if the sun was feeling bitter towards us. And the inevitable destruction of all galaxies by black holes. This drives us insane. We are scared. We are vulnerable. What are we to do? Elon musk the most popular billionaire of our times is sometimes looked at as a savior. He will get us to Mars and we will be an interplanetary species. We will escape this corrupt earth that is doomed for destruction. But is this what will happen? Elon Musk is spending billions trying to escape a planet that we were made on by God. Wars, drugs, sexual immorality, the poor, disease, famine, and whatever else evil is out there and we are looking to leave the planet instead of fixing it. Reminds me of the story of the moat in the eye. Or Jordan Peterson's famous clean your room then change the world. Or in this case fix the Earth then worry about other planets. Or hell maybe if we fix the Earth we won't have to leave. What is it we are moving towards? Heaven on earth or another tower of babel? We have no unified vision yet we are creating and doing more and more things. We are running with no aim at where we are going. We are creating without even knowing what we are trying to fix. We barely even look into the future anymore. What are we doing? And what should we be doing? Nuclear bombs is definitely our most dangerous modern creation. It wields the power to fight off evil but can be used to destroy us all. What's worse is there is no doing away with it. It's here to stay as the leaders can use it to their advantage. But why was it created? We were naked and afraid. But now what? We are even more naked and afraid. We tried to protect ourselves only to fall deeper into the pit. And now it's one of our biggest threats today with the ongoing Russia ukraine war. Digital technology seems to either be our best invention or the fulfilment of the ubermensch (which thing I hate). It allows us to communicate instantly around the world. It gives us all the knowledge we could want. It captivates us with forms of entertainment that we can consume whenever we want. And more recently with the invention of Bitcoin it allows us to free ourselves of tyrannical governments. But all this comes at a cost just like all other technologies. We are more antisocial. We use our brains way less than what we should. No longer is it "let me think about that" it's now "let me Google it". It's no more "Good morning neighbor!" It's now either a text or a social media post. Instead of asking for directions and learning map reading it's Google maps. Instead of owning your entertainment it's renting it from which ever company is offering it. And now with cbdc's it's no longer your money but the governments it's coming from. That is unless you start to use Bitcoin but that's for another post. To sum up the reason for this post which if I had more time would be way way longer. I don't know where we are heading. I don't know how I should even view our current technologies. We are living in confusing times. What are we to do? How are we supposed to live as Catholics in this technological world? Is this what God wanted? Should the world look like this or more like the world of Middle Earth? What are we to think of living on other planets? So many questions and more are popping up as we continue to make. I'm confused and getting more confused each day.
