I like to ping a few different sites as I get ready to build a new PC to give me a good starting point, then go the pcpartpicker. I've always like ArsTechnica's guides over the years. It's nice to mix and max the levels low mid and high levels to get what I want before doing more detailed research.
About to update my old machine from before the bitcoin plague on graphics cards and need a new monitor to go with a new video card. Hate to drop like $500 to get a 'decent' monitor, but it seems like I won't see much difference with an upgrade from my aging 970 without one. Any pointers?
