Lightning Network continues to go from strength to strength, racking up 7,364 nodes. This caused the main net capacity to reach an all-time high of 827 BTC ($3,259,491).
Lightning will grow the network effect of Bitcoin, allowing for the first time, thousands of low value transactions for less than a fraction of a cent each.
2nd layer solutions like Lightning and Liquid (for high value. 2 minute transfers), will absorb much of the traffic going forwards currently on main-chain, leaving main-chain free to absorb even more transactions.
Any user can set up a bitcoin full node, and help the Bitcoin & Lightning networks. Running a node gives you increased security & privacy. It also gives you a say in how the network develops, in the event of a hard fork, through the software implementation you decide to run.
