Need help researching an "advisor" (or scammer, I don't know)

Hello everyone,

I sincerely hope this is the right place to post my question. Please guide me to the correct subreddit if my post here should violate any rules. I'm not sure where else to go.

So here's the situation:

My mother met a "Bitcoin advisor" in one of her esoteric online communities and now wants to invest money in Bitcoin.

But here are the red flags:

  • This guy promises at least 30% increase in value over the course of one year. It's unclear however, if he is talking about the value in BTC or fiat money.
  • He has a monthly newsletter where he talks about how people investing in his service, now are able to live with a passive income and "now is the time to invest" and so on. But he never talks about risks.
  • There is a minimum amount of 5000€ you have to invest.
  • In the beginning, he even promised 20-fold returns, where he kept 50% of the earnings. So a 10-fold for investors, and the rest was his payment.
  • His company is based in Panama.

Most importantly, I can't seem to find any information about this guy apart from his involvement in this "Chinese quantum healing" community via newsletter and that he "made so much money with cryptocurrencies", that he switched to being a full-time trader and founded some kind of foundation to help people (I don't really know...).

I don't want to dox this guy, so I'm only going to post his name here if I'm sure that I'm not breaking the rules of the subreddit. I will edit this post for that purpose.

Please Bitcoin Reddit, you are my only hope. Help me find something on this advisor. My mother really trusts him and has a good feeling, but she still trusts me more and I want to find facts if this is a scam or actual trading with a good amount of luck/hope/foolishness.

Thanks a lot.
