How will bitcoin act if a recession starts and stocks, realestate etc make new lows (a repeat of 2008).

Heres four reasons why bitcoin will not fall along side stocks and might even make new highs.

1) The halving is very close, a few months before the halving the world will be pricing it in and after the halving the supply shock will mean even if demand drops by 50% the price still wont fall because the supply has also dropped by 50%. If demand stays the same after the supply halves then the price can only rise.

2) The Blackrock ETF will add demand as it opens up the door for hedge funds to able to allocate easily for their clients, this should be approved before the halving.

3) During a recession that has issues regarding inflation and bank stability gold historically does well and this is what the coming recession is shaping up to look like. The silicon valley bank debacle and high inflation of 2022 were the opening act giving us clues as to what the main event will look like. We can expect a 2024 recession to be marked by an even bigger banking melt down and an even higher second wave of inflation, and if gold goes up we can expect bitcoin to follow suit as its digital safe haven equivelant.

4) Bitcoin is sitting closer to its lows than its highs while stocks and realestate are sitting back up near their all time highs. This should point to stocks and realestate having much more room to fall while bitcoin is so much lower than its all time high it appears to be a far better investment opportunity. If it isnt going down then it can only go sideways or up.

All of these factors combined should keep bitcoin from falling along side stocks and see it act much more like a safe haven from a recession marked by high inflation and a systemic banking crisis.

If good times return and stocks make new highs we can expect bitcoin to rise alongside them. If theres a recession instead and stocks crash we can expect bitcoin to perform like a safe haven on steroids due to the halving and ETF launch as it rises alongside gold.

Note: In either case crypto / altcoins will follow stocks. Meaning if theres a recession expect bitcoin to rise will the entire altcoin market crashes even further alongside stocks because altcoins are the equivelant of speculative penny stocks while bitcoin is the equivelant of gold.
