Build Instructions are incorrect, devs refuse to update them.
PR get ignored.
Released Binaries are compiled in secret, not reproducible.
Issues on the repo are ignored.
We have a trust issue here folks.
EDIT:
Seems like some here need more examples and that's fine. As a side note I'm a huge supporter of Vertcoin but at the same time I dont want us to get sloppy either. Let's be professional when it comes to our commitment to open source development.
docs.vertcoin.org has been down for about two weeks now. Raised the issue on Discord.... of course there was no response.
Build instructions are wrong. In fact James even responds to a build issue with "Use Docker". (Why not update this in the notes?)
If you follow the windows build guide, IT WILL FAIL. Why? Because there was a bug that was resolved by Bitcoin Core but apparently never made it to the Vertcoin Core notes.
The build notes haven't been updated since last year.
In fact there is a current PR to fix an incorrect URL for a dependency in one of those notes.
It doesn't seem like the repo is being managed RESPONSIBLY.
Furthermore it seems that the website isn't even running off of the vertcoin-website
repo (If you build it, it isn't even the same site) Turns out the current version is being run off of CryptoPlankton's repo here. (There were NO announcements of this as far as I know)
Again, I'm not complaining. I want to contribute. But it's impossible to contribute when the development cycle is being obfuscated.
