HCPP18 is over, and it has been great. You can still read the RIAT twitter reports to see what happened there.
There has been a great AFK meeting to discuss the Monero assembly on the HCPP (Hackers Congress Paralelni Polis) in Prague, and also there have been a lot of Monero-related talks at the congress. Here is a short overview on what has happened there:
-
Silur, former member of Ethereum Foundation and currently a contributor to Monero research lab gave an amazing talk about an asymptotically more efficient construction of Ring-CT.
-
Michael Schloh von Bennewitz from the Monero Open Hardware Team has designed the HCPP NFC badge (read a blogpost here), which was used throughout the event as payment device for Bitcoin and Litecoin payments, and which is compatible with all the Generalbytes PoS devices.
-
m2049r, core dev of the monerujo Android wallet gave an overview of the project and declared the mission of monerujo "to put the best money invented so far, in the hands of as many people as possible".
-
In the panel "Truly anonymous cryptocurrencies", binaryfate from xmr.to, Peter Todd and A.Pfefferling from HORIZEN discussed privacy in cryptocurrencies.
-
Smuggler in his talk was dropping a lot of quotable lines, such as "Bitcoin is about as cryptoanarchist as a car — but Monero is cryptoanarchy" and "What Bitcoin does is provide you with all the tools to fuck you."
