My guess is Asia woke up, saw US market fall and then Asian markets tumbled prompting those with heavy position in speculative asset (e.g. btc) to sell
Also, when mtgox deadline (10/22) passes, ppl will get a % of their actual BTC back and sell some portion. If someone lost 1000 BTC and I’d imagine some did, then they will likely sell a bunch and the market impact will be substantial compounded with short sellers on bitmex.
Long term, I’m excited for all the tech advances but short term, it will be painful (despite Bakkt and other events)
