Bitcoin DEATH Cross History

Death Cross: A death cross is a technical term in trading where the 50-day moving average (the average price for the last 50 days) crosses below the 200-day moving average (the average price for the last 200 days). It signals that the longer-term trend is no longer bullish.

Bitcoin is now in Death Cross and has been for 264 days. However, it is not the only period of Death Cross that Bitcoin has been in. Indeed the Death Cross of Sep-2014 is the longest so far: 313 days.

Here is a summary of Bitcoin Death Cross history so far:

Start Date Days of Death Cross Contributing Events
Tue, 27-Sep-2011 136 days ??
Wed, 09-Apr-2014 96 days Mt Gox ??
Fri, 05-Sep-2014 313 days Mt Gox ??
Tue, 15-Sep-2015 43 days ??
Fri, 23-Mar-2018 264 days so far Run out of Greater Fools, etc

I do think the current Death Cross is way more serious than all prior Death Crosses because of the major issues with crypto. And even the most rabid crypto bulls do not have anywhere near the same "crypto for the world" levels of energy they had previously. Even pro-crypto Reddit subs like r/Bitcoin are full of extreme depression, doom and gloom at levels I have never seen there before.
