Giving Tuesday (December 3rd) is a global generosity movement created in response to the mass consumerism of the holiday season and designed to offset it by placing the focus on giving.
This year, Brave is supporting The Giving Block as they orchestrate aid for nonprofits such as No Kid Hungry, Tor Project, Pencils of Promise, and dozens more through their #BitcoinTuesday campaign. The campaign encourages people to support hundreds of global causes with cryptocurrency.
Brave's own parallel initiative, called “Giving Tuesday: Brave For Good”, will see Brave donate 100% of its ad inventory and delivery to ads from participating charities on December 3rd, 2019.

We know our community has been pleased to see Brave raising awareness for non-profits over the last several months through the Brave Ads Grant Program. We are grateful to the Brave Ads users who have offered their support by donating BAT or otherwise to the causes spotlighted by the program. This year, Giving Tuesday presents an opportunity for greater participation for anyone looking to give back. Here are ways you can get involved:
1. GET OUT INTO YOUR COMMUNITY AND DO GOOD
Go out into your local community on Giving Tuesday and do some good (Feel free to rock your BAT/Brave gear while doing so!):
- Find a creative way to "pay it forward" (e.g., pay for the person behind you at the drive-through)
- Volunteer at a local homeless shelter or soup kitchen
- Drop off non-perishables or unwanted clothing at a local drop-off point, etc.
Afterward, share your good deed on Twitter by tweeting using the hashtag #BeBraveForGood. If you can, share a photo or video of the event on Twitter to help inspire others to give back. We’ll be retweeting stories of generosity shared with the #BeBraveForGood hashtag, and will award participants with official BAT/Brave swag for helping spread the good.
2. CLICK-TO-TWEET & SPREAD AWARENESS VIA BRAVE ADS
Each and every ad presented through Brave Ads on Giving Tuesday will represent a participating charity or cause. Brave Ads users will be able to click through any ad they see to tweet about the cause and help spread awareness on Twitter. If you haven’t already opted into seeing Brave Ads but wish to participate, go to brave://rewards to activate.
3. DONATE DIRECTLY TO CAUSES WITH BRAVE REWARDS
If you are already opted into Brave Rewards and have BAT, you can tip right away on Giving Tuesday. If not, you can still tip all year round when you build up some BAT of your own! (If you aren't already using the Brave browser, download it here.) Go to brave://rewards to turn on Brave Rewards. You’ll earn BAT by seeing privacy-respecting ads, and then be able to pay it forward by donating a portion of your earnings to causes you wish to support by using the Tips or Auto-Contribute features in Brave Rewards.
4. BECOME A VERIFIED BRAVE CREATOR AND REFER FRIENDS & FAMILY
If you have your own Twitter account, website, YouTube, Reddit, Twitch, Vimeo, or GitHub account, get set up as a Brave Creator. Then, activate the Referral Program and generate a referral link to share with your friends & family to get them using Brave. You’ll get rewarded in BAT for each new user you bring to Brave through your referral link, and they, in turn, can make donations in BAT to causes they want to support.
