Bought bitcoin in 2017 and forgot about doing taxes

Hi,

So I bought some bitcoin in 2017 and haven't yet reported it in my tax forms. From my understanding, there would be a taxable event since I bought the bitcoin with ethereum. Am I screwed with any penalties since I didn't report this taxable income 3 years later?
