Round up of Cryptocurrency News #4 Week 27/07 - 02/08

Good day all! Its been a month since we started and here is another weekly recap post. The market has been on an uptrend, on March 15th 2020 the total marketcap was $155B. Last Wednesday the total marketcap, on coinmarketcap.com, was $308B. Right now it is $338B, a total increase of $30B in 5 days and more than doubling in 1 1/2 months. With the current increase we saw: - Bitcoin (BTC) push up to $12k today, up 17% this week. - Ethereum (ETH) push up to $400, up 25% this week. - Ripple (XRP) currently at $0.30, up 40% this week.
- Ethereum classic at $7.38, up 10% this week.

Throughout the week: Cardano's Shelley Mainnet hardfork successfully goes live introducing staking and further soldifying their network and becoming completely decentralised. Cardano brings on 500 stake pools a day after Shelley launch without issues too! For the awesome Gravychain discord group I am thinking about creating or joining a staking pool. Ripple platform hits half a billion dollars in Volume. Dont get this confused with its use of its native token XRP. The $500M worth of cross-border payments was through its Ripple-powered remittance app which utilises its payment messaging system rather than the token (XRP). Weird flex from Ripple, alongside saying they created the ripple token before they even had a use case.

Ledger has been HACKED! 1 million emails and 9,500 home addresses hacked from ledger but your funds are safe. Funnily enough Trezor tweeted saying they delete all sensitive data of your order 90 days after your purchase.

IOTA's newest version of the decentralised testnet is 6x faster than previous version and records over 10,000 Transactions per second (TPS). Massive improvements from the Iota team and looking forward to their *Chrysalis phase (#1). *Chrysalis records a peak in performance, crossing 1,000TPS mark.

Speaking of making records, the United States of America record the highest amount of money printed ever. Within the month of June they have printed more money than the last 2 centuries since its founding. “The United States printed more money in June than in the first two centuries after its founding,” Morehead wrote. “Last month the U.S. budget deficit — $864 billion — was larger than the total debt incurred from 1776 through the end of 1979.”

Super short one today as some of the more interesting events that has happened was in the price action this week. Bitcoin holds way over above $9000 marking a potentially new trend! Exciting times to come! Cheers and see you next week.
