[4:04 PM] Tron: I have 3 things to add to the agenda. 1) Need for a Ravencoin Campus Manager (non-technical), quick discussion of a stablecoin on Ravencoin, and adding trusted users to GitHub for approvals and merges.

[4:07 PM] Jeroz: I had individual discussions with Tron, HansSchmidt, and Hyperpeek about git control this week.

Initially, I contacted all to see if we could add an electrum repo at the ravenproject GitHub moderated by the new electrum SIG. My reasoning was that it would be most convenient for users offering them a known source and not having electrum repos in multiple locations. Tron was fine with the idea but indicated that there’s also a fork on the foundation GitHub with trezor fixes and wanted to make sure that these do not get lost. Hyperpeek went over these changes and indicated that these are covered in https://github.com/Electrum-RVN-SIG.

After followup talks, Hans indicated that he preferred to have electrum at a different source than at the Ravencoin git. Electrum has always been at a different source (for bitcoin) and he doesn’t support needless centralization. Furthermore, access to ravenproject is rather restricted (for good reasons) while Electrum development allows for far more flexibility (since its not touching consensus rules). I wasn’t aware of these points and understand these concerns.

A separate issue is that core development has stalled and we need additional developers with available time to manage the growing number of PRs and issues at core. To this end, https://github.com/HyperPeek and https://github.com/hans-schmidt offered to help out testing/validating PRs, and helping with moving new functionalities to testnet (and main net later). Hans also set up a raven-qt-sig for this purpose. Although Hans suggested to fork core (as did I during last dev meeting) to get a new/separate development team on testnet. I believe such a move would cause too much confusion amongst developers and users while I’m convinced that everyone has the same interests at heart.

In sum, I’d like to request merging rights for Hans and Hyperpeek for Ravencoin core so that we can move forward with development, and drop my request for having electrum at the same git repo.

I volunteered to help with review on the QT wallet, as there seem to be many PR's stuck.

[4:12 PM] Hans_Schmidt: It's a bit confusing. Nobody is proposing creating testnet8. The P2SH code is itself the fork.

[4:14 PM] Tron: Please test the BIP9 activation to watch it fork based on mining hashpower. Testing the migration is as important as the P2SH code itself. We don't want mainnet stalling on migration.

[4:15 PM] Hans_Schmidt: I fully agree. That was the plan all along.

[4:15 PM] Jeroz: Im sure we'd love to, but there are no core devs atm moving it forward. Hence the request for additional devs

[4:15 PM] HyperPeek: This will need different mining on testnet. currently its only one.

[4:16 PM] Jeroz: The date needs a bump, we would need the building pipeline from #904 to get the binaries (spread those around), announce on testnet channel. I can move it to my private stratum, and then we can target hash to it.

[4:16 PM] Tron: Why? Shouldn't the testnet become P2SH enabled at X% threshold of mining? We can set that to 60 or 65%, and ask the testnet miners to migrate.

[4:19 PM] Hans_Schmidt: I think we are all violently agreeing. Only verbage problems. We will introduce a new pool (Jeroz's stratum) and the P2SH code. The existing testnet will chain fork as per BIP9

[4:20 PM] Tron: Let's get it built, give it to the mining pool, and active testnet miners and get to 60-some percecnt.

[4:20 PM] Tron: There can't be too many testnet miners. We've had it completely stall at times.

[4:22 PM] Jeroz: Im confident that the mining for consensus shouldnt be too much of a problem. Joe has lik 99% of the hash rate with a single card. What we were waiting on was getting the p2sh code into develop tree and getting the associated binaries. The building pipeline from fdov would be neat to have in between that.

[4:25 PM] Tron: First thing is to merge fdov pipeline. I've approved it, but last I looked couldn't merge it without violating the rules.

[4:26 PM] fdov: I think you'll have to approve again, I updated some depend, renamed to package_VULNERABLE. upstream, kind of thought it would be nice not to use that version anymore.

[4:38 PM] Tron: I can give admin to a trusted Ravencoin Campus Manager, and the login/rights to [events@ravencoincampus.org](mailto:events@ravencoincampus.org) e-mail for scheduling public events. They could give Team Suite rights, and Leader rights to be able to control the speaking environments.

[4:39 PM] Tron: They could assign kiosks in the Exhibit Hall, allow use of private office suites, etc.

[4:50 PM] Tron: Yes, we have the opportunity for a stablecoin on Ravencoin. Someone else (that does stablecoins) would manage it. Provide an on/off ramp, market making for 6 months (market for RVN/USDR), and handle KYC/AML/etc. Cost: One-time $125,000

[4:53 PM] boatsandhoes: That kinda seems like a 3rd party trying to milk the ravencoin community. If its a coin that they can find beneficial why can't the 3rd party absorb the cost?
