Last week, the Chicago Monero Meetup hosted by Cake Wallet was a resounding success, leaving the Cake Wallet team excited for what's to come in the spring. It was a great opportunity for this global, privacy-focused community to come face to face and have some fun and learn just a little bit more about the future we want to be a part of.

The event kicked off with pizza, drinks, and networking as the seats slowly filled in the heart of downtown Chicago with notable guests like GirlGoneCrypto, Sarang, and host Vik Sharma who welcomed the evening with a warm speech. The first presentation of the night was distinguished Monero dev Justin Berman, who took the stage as a guest speaker, sharing his latest advancements in the Monero ecosystem and sneak peeks into plans for the future. Adding to the excitement, Luke Parker, the lead developer of Serai DEX, provided an overview of and insight into Serai, an exchange platform designed from the ground up to natively support Monero, Bitcoin, and other assets. This meetup was not only informative but also offered ample opportunities for networking and discussions. Between the presentations was beer & banter; attendees connected with like-minded individuals who share a passion for Monero and privacy in the cryptocurrency space. Furthermore, it was a unique opportunity to meet the broader Cake Wallet team, who have played a pivotal role in supporting Crypto & specifically Monero propaganda.
After the success of the Chicago Monero Meetup, we are eagerly planning a new meetup sometime come Spring and we hope to see you there!
